Course of Opponents in 1844 COOD 87

Concerning the course pursued by mobs in various place, we read: “They were enraged that we should believe in the advent of the Lord.... We could only liken the conduct of the mob to that which surrounded the door of Lot, on the evening pending the destruction of Sodom. In New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and other places, the wicked manifested the same feelings, and on Sunday the thirteenth instant, the Advent meetings in many places were broken up by them.”-Midnight Cry of Oct. 31, 1844.
