“Let the minister request all those who propose to enter into church order, to stand upon their feet, till it is ascertained whether perfect fellowship exists among them. 1This form was soon changed, and a list of names was written, each one inspecting, and making a cross against any name they questioned, such name being treated as above. Still later others adopted the plan of talking out the grounds of church fellowship, then taking three or five who endorsed the principles, and were in fellowship, as a nucleus and voting in others, one by one, as they endorsed the principles, and declared themselves in fellowship with those already received. This is the plan more general in use at the present time. This is one of the points of order that has been a little perfected.-J. N. L. If it does not, let those between whom the difficulty lies, immediately retire and confer together in order to an understanding. If this can not be arrived at, we know of no other way, but that the accused should remain outside, until the church is prepared to take action in his or her case.
