General Organizations Formed GSAM 355

As the message advanced, the following general organizations were formed, the officers of which were elected at the regular sessions of the General Conference:— GSAM 355.1

The General Conference Association—a legal body of twenty-one members, to hold the title to the property of the various institutions in America and other countries. GSAM 355.2

The Foreign Mission Board—to superintend and extend mission work outside of organized conferences. GSAM 355.3

The International Tract Society—whose province was the distribution of reading matter, and correspondence, seeking to open up new missions. GSAM 355.4

The Religious Liberty Association—its special field being to aid those persecuted for conscience’ sake, and to circulate literature on the principles of religious liberty. GSAM 355.5

The International Sabbath-School Association—the object of which was the building up and advancement of the Sabbath-school work in all fields. GSAM 355.6

The Medical Missionary and Benevolent Association—its work relating to the training of physicians and nurses, the conducting of sanitariums, homes for orphans, the aged, etc. GSAM 355.7
