Visible Proof of Christ’s Messiahship GSAM 62

The ministry of Christ was accompanied with a constant performing of miracles, which, to the people, even if they failed fully to comprehend his parables and words, were a visible proof that he was the Immanuel, or that “God was with him.” 14Acts 10:38; John 3:2. In these miracles Christ was giving to the world not only an evidence of the power of God in himself, but also a practical demonstration of the character of God and of his loving kindness. When Philip, after three years of continuous association with Christ, witnessing his mighty miracles, said, “Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us,” Jesus said unto him, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father: and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? ... Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake.” 15John 14:8-11. GSAM 62.3
