Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused (Luke 1:27) to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. KJRV — Matthew 1:18

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put (Deuteronomy 24:1; Jeremiah 3:1; Matthew 5:31; Matthew 19:7; Mark 10:4) her away privily. KJRV — Matthew 1:19

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream (Genesis 20:3; Genesis 31:24) , saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. (Luke 1:35) KJRV — Matthew 1:20

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: (Luke 1:31; Acts 4:12; Acts 13:38) for he shall save his people from their sins. KJRV — Matthew 1:21

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, KJRV — Matthew 1:22

Behold, (Isaiah 7:14) a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,Isaiah 7:14 which being interpreted is, God with us. KJRV — Matthew 1:23

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: KJRV — Matthew 1:24

And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn (Exodus 13:2; Luke 2:7) son: and he called his name JESUS. KJRV — Matthew 1:25
