Matthew 8 KJRV — Matthew 8

1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. KJRV — Matthew 8:1

2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, (Mark 1:40; Luke 5:12) thou canst make me clean. KJRV — Matthew 8:2

3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (Exodus 4:7; 2 Kings 5:14) KJRV — Matthew 8:3

4 And Jesus saith unto him, See (Matthew 9:30; Mark 5:43; Luke 5:14) thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses (Leviticus 14:3; Luke 5:14) commanded, for a testimony unto them. KJRV — Matthew 8:4

5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, (Luke 7:1) there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, KJRV — Matthew 8:5

6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. KJRV — Matthew 8:6

7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. KJRV — Matthew 8:7

8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy (Luke 15:19) that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. (Exodus 15:26; Deuteronomy 32:39; Psalms 33:9; Psalms 103:3; Psalms 107:20; Jeremiah 17:14) KJRV — Matthew 8:8

9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. KJRV — Matthew 8:9

10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. KJRV — Matthew 8:10

11 And I say unto you, That many (Isaiah 2:2; Malachi 1:11; Luke 13:29; Acts 10:45; Acts 11:18; Acts 14:27; Romans 15:9; Ephesians 3:6; Revelation 5:9; Revelation 7:9; Revelation 14:6) shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. KJRV — Matthew 8:11

12 But the children (Matthew 21:43) of the kingdom shall be cast (Matthew 22:13; Matthew 24:51; Matthew 25:30; Luke 13:28; 2 Peter 2:17; Jude 1:13) out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. KJRV — Matthew 8:12

13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. KJRV — Matthew 8:13

14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, (Mark 1:29; Luke 4:38) he saw his wife's (1 Corinthians 9:5) mother laid, and sick of a fever. KJRV — Matthew 8:14

15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them. KJRV — Matthew 8:15

16 When the even (Mark 1:32; Luke 4:40) was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: KJRV — Matthew 8:16

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself (Isaiah 53:4) took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.Isaiah 53:4 KJRV — Matthew 8:17

18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side. KJRV — Matthew 8:18

19 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow (Luke 9:57) thee whithersoever thou goest. KJRV — Matthew 8:19

20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where (Psalms 22:6; John 1:10) to lay his head. KJRV — Matthew 8:20

21 And another (Luke 9:59) of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer (1 Kings 19:20) me first to go and bury my father. KJRV — Matthew 8:21

22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead (Ephesians 2:1) bury their dead. KJRV — Matthew 8:22

23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. KJRV — Matthew 8:23

24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest (Mark 4:37; Luke 8:23) in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. KJRV — Matthew 8:24

25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. KJRV — Matthew 8:25

26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye (Matthew 6:30; Matthew 14:31; Matthew 16:8; Luke 12:28) of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked (Job 38:8; Psalms 65:7; Psalms 89:9; Psalms 93:4; Psalms 104:3; Psalms 107:29; Proverbs 30:4; Nahum 1:4; Matthew 14:32) the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. KJRV — Matthew 8:26

27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! KJRV — Matthew 8:27

28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, (Mark 5:1) there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. KJRV — Matthew 8:28

29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment (Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6) us before the time? KJRV — Matthew 8:29

30 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine (Deuteronomy 14:8) feeding. KJRV — Matthew 8:30

31 So the devils besought (Philippians 2:10) him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. KJRV — Matthew 8:31

32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. KJRV — Matthew 8:32

33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils. KJRV — Matthew 8:33

34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought (Deuteronomy 5:25; 1 Kings 17:18; Luke 5:8; Acts 16:39) him that he would depart out of their coasts. KJRV — Matthew 8:34
