Laodicean message fits God’s people for the loud cry—I saw that this message would not accomplish its work in a few short months. It is designed to arouse the people of God, to discover to them their backslidings, and to lead to zealous repentance, that they may be favored with the presence of Jesus, and be fitted for the loud cry of the third angel.—Testimonies for the Church 1:186 (1859) 3AM 141.2
Only the victorious will have a part to act—The third angel’s message is to lighten the earth with its glory; but only those who have withstood temptation in the strength of the Mighty One will be permitted to act a part in proclaiming it when it shall have swelled into the loud cry.—Historical Sketches of the Foreign Missions of the Seventh-day Adventists, 155 (1886) 3AM 141.3
The message will triumph with or without us—The very time of which the prophet has written will come, and the mighty cry of the third angel will be heard in the earth; his glory will lighten the world, and the message will triumph; but those who do not walk in its light will not triumph with it.—Manuscript 18, 1888 (Selected Messages 3:390) 3AM 142.1
Christ’s imputed righteousness provides security for the end time—If you would stand through the time of trouble, you must know Christ, and appropriate the gift of His righteousness, which He imputes to the repentant sinner.—The Review and Herald, November 22, 1892 3AM 142.2
The message cut short in righteousness—The world is preparing for the closing work of the third angel’s message. The truth is now to go forth with a power that it has not known for years. The message of present truth is to be proclaimed everywhere. We must be aroused to give this message with a loud voice, as symbolized in the fourteenth chapter of Revelation. There is danger of our accepting the theory of the truth without accepting the great responsibility which it lays upon every recipient. My brethren, show your faith by your works. The world must be prepared for the loud cry of the third angel’s message—a message which God declares shall be cut short in righteousness.—Manuscript 61, 1909 (September 17) 3AM 142.3
Love of Christ and of one another precedes loud cry—The love of Christ, the love of our brethren, will testify to the world that we have been with Jesus and learned of Him. Then will the message of the third angel swell to a loud cry, and the whole earth will be lightened with the glory of the Lord.—Testimonies for the Church 6:401 (1901) 3AM 142.4
The latter rain accompanies the loud cry—As the members of the body of Christ approach the period of their last conflict, “the time of Jacob’s trouble,” they will grow up into Christ, and will partake largely of His Spirit. As the third message swells to a loud cry, and as great power and glory attend the closing work, the faithful people of God will partake of that glory. It is the latter rain which revives and strengthens them to pass through the time of trouble. Their faces will shine with the glory of that light which attends the third angel. 3AM 142.5
I saw that God will in a wonderful manner preserve His people through the time of trouble.—Testimonies for the Church 1:353 (1862) 3AM 143.1
Not one prayer for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is lost—When the third angel’s message shall go forth with a loud voice [and] the whole earth shall be lightened with His glory, the Holy Spirit is poured out upon His people. The revenue of glory has been accumulating for this closing work of the third angel’s message. Of the prayers that have been ascending for the fulfillment of the promise—the descent of the Holy Spirit—not one has been lost. Each prayer has been accumulating, ready to overflow and pour forth a healing flood of heavenly influence and accumulated light all over the world.—Letter 96a, 1899 (July 19) 3AM 143.2
The fruit of present efforts seen during the loud cry—We must get ready for the latter rain. The earth is to be lighted with the glory of the third angel—not a little corner only, but the whole earth. You may think that the work you are doing now is lost; but I tell you it is not lost. When the message shall go with a loud cry, those who hear the truth now will spring to the front and work with mighty power.—The Review and Herald, May 10, 1887 3AM 143.3
The loud cry has begun in the revelation of Christ’s righteousness—The time of test is just upon us, for the loud cry of the third angel has already begun in the revelation of the righteousness of Christ, the sin-pardoning Redeemer. This is the beginning of the light of the angel whose glory shall fill the whole earth. For it is the work of every one to whom the message of warning has come, to lift up Jesus, to present Him to the world as revealed in types, as shadowed in symbols, as manifested in the revelations of the prophets, as unveiled in the lessons given to His disciples and in the wonderful miracles wrought for the sons of men. Search the Scriptures; for they are they that testify of Him.—The Review and Herald, November 22, 1892 3AM 143.4
The rays of the Sun of Righteousness to lighten the earth—Said my guide, “There is much light yet to shine forth from the law of God and the gospel of righteousness. This message, understood in its true character and proclaimed in the Spirit, will grow to large importance such as you scarcely dream of, and will lighten the earth with its glory. The great decisive question is to be brought before all nations, tongues, and peoples. The closing work of the third angel’s message will be attended with a power that will send the rays of the Sun of Righteousness into all the highways and byways of life, and decisions will be made for God as supreme Governor; His law will be looked upon as the rule of His government.”—Manuscript 15, 1888 (November 1) 3AM 144.1
The message of Christ’s righteousness closes the work of the third angel—The whole earth is to be lightened with the glory of God’s truth. The Lord will not close up the period of probation until the warning message shall be more distinctly proclaimed. The trumpet must give a certain sound. The law of God is to be magnified, its claims must be presented, in their true, sacred character, that the people may be brought to decide for or against the truth. Yet the work will be cut short in righteousness. The message of Christ’s righteousness is to sound from one end of the world to the other. This is the glory of God which closes the work of the third angel.—Letter 2c, 1892 (December 21) (cf. Testimonies for the Church 6:19) 3AM 144.2
