Psalm 83 NHEB — Psalm 83

1 <A song. A Psalm by Asaph. > God, do not be silent. Do not be deaf, and do not be inactive, God. NHEB — Psalm 83:1

2 For, look, your enemies make an uproar. Those who hate you are hostile. NHEB — Psalm 83:2

3 They devise crafty plans against your people, and conspire together against your treasured ones. NHEB — Psalm 83:3

4 They say, “Come, and let us annihilate them as a nation; let the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” NHEB — Psalm 83:4

5 For they plot a unified strategy; they make a covenant against you; NHEB — Psalm 83:5

6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab, and the Hagrites, NHEB — Psalm 83:6

7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre. NHEB — Psalm 83:7

8 Assyria too is joined with them; they lend support to the descendants of Lot. Selah. NHEB — Psalm 83:8

9 Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin at the Kishon River, NHEB — Psalm 83:9

10 who were destroyed at Endor, who became manure for the ground. NHEB — Psalm 83:10

11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, NHEB — Psalm 83:11

12 who said, “Let us take possession for ourselves the pastures of God.” NHEB — Psalm 83:12

13 My God, make them like tumbleweed; like dead weeds blown by the wind. NHEB — Psalm 83:13

14 Like a fire that consumes a forest, and like the flames that consume the mountains, NHEB — Psalm 83:14

15 so pursue them with your gale winds, and terrify them with your storm. NHEB — Psalm 83:15

16 Cover their faces with shame, so that they might seek your name, LORD. NHEB — Psalm 83:16

17 Let them be put to shame and terrified forever; let them perish in disgrace, NHEB — Psalm 83:17

18 that they will know that you alone, whose name is the LORD, are the Most High over all the earth. NHEB — Psalm 83:18
