Inasmuch as an 1818 English reprint of the tractate on The Millennium by the American clergyman, W. C. Davis, of South Carolina, played an important part in the conclusions reached on the 2300 years by the influential Scotch minister, Archibald Mason, in 1820; and since this appears to be the only American work on the question at this early time which found its way into circulation in England, it seems desirable to include Davis’ life sketch here, and the summary of his positions.
