George I. Butler WEWMM 43

George I. Butler (1834-1918), as president of the General Conference on two occasions, 1871-1874 and 1880-1888, quickly demonstrated his keen administrative abilities. He was active in raising funds to establish the first Adventist college in Battle Creek, Michigan, and the Pacific Press Publishing Company, California. WEWMM 43.1
