The period between the doom of Jerusalem as pronounced by Christ and the overthrow of the city is said to be “forty years.” As the city was overthrown A. D. 70, if this period is exact, it would make the time for his pronouncing the doom A. D. 30, and consequently, His crucifixion in the same year; but in other places in the book, the crucifixion is placed in A. D. 31. WWPGC 5.6
