How does Ellen White explain Hebrews 6:19, 20? QSEW 28.2
Mrs. White nowhere gives a technical exegesis of Hebrews 6:19, 20, but she does cite the text in connection with Christ’s ministry in both the holy place and the holy of holies in the heavenly sanctuary. With reference to Christ’s ministration in the “first apartment” in heaven, Ellen White states: QSEW 28.3
“The ministration of the priest throughout the year in the first apartment of the sanctuary, ‘within the veil’ which formed the door and separated the holy place from the outer court, represents the work of ministration upon which Christ entered at His ascension. It was the work of the priest in the daily ministration to present before God the blood of the sin offering, also the incense which ascended with the prayers of Israel. So did Christ plead His blood before the Father in behalf of sinners, and present before Him also, with the precious fragrance of His own righteousness, the prayers of penitent believers. Such was the work of ministration in the first apartment of the sanctuary in heaven.” The Great Controversy, 420, 421. QSEW 28.4
Earlier she had written: QSEW 28.5
“If we are firmly fixed upon the present truth, and have our hope, like an anchor of the soul, cast within the second veil, the various winds of false doctrine and error cannot move us. The excitements and false reformations of this day do not move us, for we know that the Master of the house rose up in 1844, and shut the door of the first apartment of the heavenly tabernacle; and now we certainly expect that they 2Ellen White apparently refers here to those Millerite Adventists who rejected the significance of October 22, 1844, and who did not believe that Christ began a special ministry in heaven’s holy of holies on that day will ‘go with their flocks,’ ‘to seek the Lord; but they shall not find him. He hath withdrawn himself (within the second vail) from them.’”—The Present Truth, March, 1850, Page 64. QSEW 28.6
