The Scriptures of truth are a full, complete, and perfect guide to the children of God. Everything we need for our salvation is found therein. The word of God is able to make us “wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3:15); it is given also that “the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (verse 17). It is the book of knowledge; it is the book of wisdom. It is the alpha and omega of the will of God for men. Just as Christ, the eternal Son, is the alpha and the omega (Revelation 21:6; 22:13), so also is the word of the everlasting God. BSPC 48.4
