“Sanctification and Its Sign” The Bible Echo 13, 31, p. 245.

    ATJ

“REMEMBER the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”BEST August 1, 1898, page 245.1

“Verily My Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.”BEST August 1, 1898, page 245.2

There is no genuine Christianity without sanctification. There is no genuine sanctification but that which is accomplished by the Lord Himself. And the genuine keeping of the Sabbath is a sign that the Lord does sanctify the believer, and that he may know that the Lord does sanctify him.BEST August 1, 1898, page 245.3

To profess sanctification without the keeping of the Sabbath is to come short. To profess to keep the Sabbath without sanctification is a contradiction. Sanctification is perfected in keeping the Sabbath. Keeping the Sabbath attains its perfect aim in sanctification.BEST August 1, 1898, page 245.4

“I gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them.” Verily, therefore, “My Sabbaths ye shall keep.” And “the seventh day is the Sabbath.”BEST August 1, 1898, page 245.5
