    Ephesians 5

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;KJRV — Ephesians 5:1

And walk in love, (1 Corinthians 8:1; 1 Corinthians 13:1; 1 Thessalonians 3:6; 2 Thessalonians 1:3; 1 Timothy 2:15; 1 Timothy 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:22; 2 Timothy 3:10; 2 Peter 1:7; 3 John 1:6; Jude 1:12; Revelation 2:19) as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.KJRV — Ephesians 5:2

But fornication, and all uncleanness, (Matthew 23:27; Romans 1:24; Romans 6:19; 2 Corinthians 6:17; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 4:19; Ephesians 5:5; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:7) or covetousness, let it not be once named (1 Corinthians 5:1) among you, as becometh saints;KJRV — Ephesians 5:3

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking (Matthew 12:36) , nor jesting, which are not convenient: (Romans 1:28) but rather giving of thanks.KJRV — Ephesians 5:4

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.KJRV — Ephesians 5:5

Let no man (Deuteronomy 13:3; Jeremiah 23:16; Matthew 7:15; Romans 16:17; Colossians 2:8; 2 Peter 2:1; 1 John 4:1) deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.KJRV — Ephesians 5:6

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.KJRV — Ephesians 5:7

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:KJRV — Ephesians 5:8

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)KJRV — Ephesians 5:9

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.KJRV — Ephesians 5:10

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.KJRV — Ephesians 5:11

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.KJRV — Ephesians 5:12

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.KJRV — Ephesians 5:13

Wherefore he saith, Awake (Isaiah 60:1; Isaiah 9:2; Isaiah 42:7; Matthew 4:16; Luke 2:32) thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.KJRV — Ephesians 5:14

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, (Matthew 10:16; Romans 16:19; 1 Corinthians 14:20)KJRV — Ephesians 5:15

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.KJRV — Ephesians 5:16

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.KJRV — Ephesians 5:17

And be not drunk (Genesis 9:21; Genesis 19:32; Proverbs 20:1) with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;KJRV — Ephesians 5:18

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;KJRV — Ephesians 5:19

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;KJRV — Ephesians 5:20

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.KJRV — Ephesians 5:21

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.KJRV — Ephesians 5:22

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head (1 Corinthians 11:3) of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. (1 Corinthians 6:13)KJRV — Ephesians 5:23

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives (1 Corinthians 14:34; 1 Timothy 2:12) be to their own husbands in every thing.KJRV — Ephesians 5:24

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;KJRV — Ephesians 5:25

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,KJRV — Ephesians 5:26

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.KJRV — Ephesians 5:27

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.KJRV — Ephesians 5:28

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord (Matthew 25:1; Revelation 19:7; Revelation 21:2; Revelation 21:9) the church:KJRV — Ephesians 5:29

For we are members (John 17:21; 1 Corinthians 6:17; Ephesians 4:4) of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.KJRV — Ephesians 5:30

For (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5; Mark 10:7; 1 Corinthians 6:16) this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.Genesis 2:24KJRV — Ephesians 5:31

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.KJRV — Ephesians 5:32

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.KJRV — Ephesians 5:33
