    61—Ukwaliwa KukaSawule

    USawule wasilela ukuthwala uvavanyo lokholo kwimeko eyayinzima yaseGiligali, wazisa ihlazo enkonzweni kaThixo; kodwa iziphoso zakhe zazingekabi zezingenako ukulungiswa, waza uYehova wamnika elinye ithuba lokuba afunde isifundo sokholo olungenantandabuzo elizwini laKhe nokuthobela imiyalelo yaKhe.ANa 627.1

    Wathi akungxoliswa ngumprofeti eGiligali, uSawule akabona sono sikhulu kwindlela awayeyihamba. Waziva engaphathwanga ngobulungisa, wazama ukuzigwebela iindlela zakhe wabeka izizathu zeemposiso zakhe. Ukususela kwelo xesha, wahlangana kancinane nomprofeti. USamuweli wayemthanda uSawule njengonyana wakhe, lo gama uSawule, enesibindi nomsindo oshushu, wayemhloniphile umprofeti; kodwa wayekuthiyile ukuthethisa kukaSamuweli, waza, ukususela ngoko, wamphepha kangangoko anako.ANa 627.2

    Kunjalo, uYehova wathumela umkhonzi waKhe nesinye isigidimi kuSawule. Ngokuthobela wayesenakho ukubonisa ukunyaniseka kwakhe kuThixo nokufaneleka kwakhe ukuhamba phambi kukaIsrayeli. USamuweli weza kukumkani wamnika ilizwi likaYehova. Ukuze ukumkani abe nokukuqonda ukubaluleka kokuthobela umyalelo, uSamuweli wavakalisa ngokuphandle ukuba uthetha phantsi kwenkokelo yezulu, kwangegunya elinye nelo lalibizele uSawule etroneni. Wathi umprofeti, “Utsho uYehova wemikhosi, ukuthi, Ndikukhangele konke awakwenzayo ama-Amaleki kumaIsrayeli, okokuba awathintelayo endleleni ekunyukeni kwawo eYiputa. UYehova wayesazi ukuba, aba bantu bakhohlakeleyo, ukuba kunokwenzeka, bebeya kubagqiba baphele abantu baKhe nokunqulwa kwaKhe emhlabeni. Ngoku lalifikile ixesha lesigwebo, esathabatha ixesha elide ukuba senziwe.ANa 627.3

    Ukunyamezela uThixo akwenzela abantu abakhohlakeleyo, kuya baqinisa abantu ekwaphuleni umthetho; kodwa, ukohlwaywa kwabo kuya kuqiniseka kube kubi nokuba kuthabathe ixesha kulityazisiwe. “Ngokuba uya kusuk’ eme uYehova njengasentabeni yePeratsim; uya kuguguma, njengasentilini yeGibheyon; ukuba enze isenzo sakhe, isenzo sakhe esisodwa, ukuba asebenze umsebenzi wakhe, umsebenzi ongaqhelekileyo.” Isaya 28:21. Nangona engavuyiswa yimpindezelo, uya kubagweba abaphuli bomthetho waKhe. Unyanzelekile ukuba akwenze oku, ukuze abasindise abemi bomhlaba kwinkohlakalo nentshabalalo.     Nangona wayefaka isigwebo, uThixo wakhumbula inceba. Ama-Amaleki kwakufuneka etshatyalalisiwe, kodwa amaKehati awayehlala phakathi kwawo, asindiswa. Aba bantu, nangona babengekho msulwa ngokupheleleyo kunqulo lwezithixo. Babengabakhonzi bakaThixo, baye benobuhlobo noIsrayeli. Kolu hlanga, kwakukho umlanya kaMoses, uHobhabhi, owawakhapha amaIsrayeli kwiihambo zawo entlango, kwathi ngolwazi lwakhe lwelizwe wawanika uncedo oluxabiseke kakhulu.ANa 628.2

    Ukususela ekoyisweni kwamaFilistieMikmas, uSawulewalwa namaMowabhi, nama-Ammon, namaEdom, kunye nama-Amaleki namaFilisti; kwathi kuyo yonke indawo ajikela kuyo izixhobo zakhe, azuze uloyiso olutsha. Wathi akufumana umyalelo wokulwa nama-Amaleki, wakhawuleza waya emfazweni. Kwigunya lakhe, kongezwa elo lomprofeti, aza athi akubizelwa edabini, amadoda kaIsrayeli agxalathelana phantsi kwebhanile yakhe. Iphulo kwakungafuneki kungenwe kulo ngenjongo yokuzanelisa; amaIsrayeli kwakungafunekanga azuze nokuba luzuko ngoloyiso okanye amaxhoba entshaba zawo. Kwakufuneka alwe kuphela njengesenzo sokuthobela uThixo, ngenjongo yokwenza isigwebo saKhe phezu kwama-Amaleki. UThixo wayenenjongo yokuba zonke izizwe ziyibone intshabalalo yabantu abadelela ubungangamsha baKhe, zize ziphawule ukuba zitshatyalaliswa ngabantu ezibadelileyo.ANa 629.1

    “USawule wawaxabela ama-Amaleki, wathabathela eHavila wada waya eShure, ekhangelene neYiputa. Wambamba uAgagi ukumkani wama-Amaleki ehleli, wabasingela phantsi bonke abantu ngohlangothi lwekrele. USawule nabantu bamsindisa uAgagi, neyona ilungileyo impahla emfutshane, neenkomo, neyalekelwayo, neemvana, izinto zonke ezilungileyo abavuma ukuzisingela phantsi zona; ke yonke impahla edelekileyo, egxugxileyo, bayisingela phantsi.”ANa 629.2

    Ukoyisa ama-Amaleki yayisesona siganeko sokoyisa sikhulu awasenzayo uSawule, saza senza ukuba livuseleleke ikratshi entliziyweni yakhe nto leyo eyaba yeyona ngozi inkulu. Umyalelo kaThixo onikela iintshaba zikaThixo kwintshabalalo epheleleyo wazalisekiswa ngokungaphelelanga. Elangazelela ukunyusa izinga lwembeko yokubuya enoloyiso ngobukho bexhoba lobukhosi, uSawule wangena ekulinganiseni izithethe zezizwe ezimngqongileyo ngokusindisa uAgage, ukumkani wama-Amaleki owoyikekayo nothanda imfazwe. Abantu bazigcinela eyona mihlambi mihle, impahla enkulu, nezilwanyana zemithwalo, besithethelela isono sabo ngelithi iinkomo zazigcinelwa ukuba zinikelwe njengamadini kuYehova. Yayiyinjongo yabo, phofu, ukuzisebenzisa njengezaziza kuma endaweni yezabo iinkomo.ANa 629.3

    Ngoku uSawule wayefakwe kolokugqibela uvavanyo. Ukutyeshela kwakhe intando kaThixo ngobuganga, ebonisa ukuzimisela ukulawula njengekumkani ezimeleyo, kwabonisa ukuba akanako ukunikelwa amandla obukhosi njengommeli kaYehova. Ngeli xesha uSawule nomkhosi wakhe babehamba begoduka besencotsheni [yovuyo] ngenxa yoloyiso, kwakukho intlungu enkulu ekhayeni likaSamuweli,umprofeti. Ukuba wayesamkele isigidimi esivela kuYehova esasilikhalimela ikhondo likakumkani: “Ndiyazohlwaya ngenxa yokuba ndimenzile uSawule ukumkani; ngokuba ebuyile ekundilandeleni, akalifeza ilizwi lam.” Umprofeti waba buhlungu kakhulu yindlela yokuvukela kukakumkani, walila wathandaza ubusuku bonke ukuba sibuyiswe umva isigwebo esoyikekayo.ANa 629.4

    Ukuguquka kukaThixo akufani nokuguquka komntu. “UQele-likaIsrayeli akaxoki, akazohlwayi; ngokuba akamntu ukuba azohlwaye.” Inguquko yomntu ithetha ukujika ingqondo. Inguquko kaThixo ithetha ukujika iimeko nolwalamano. Umntu angalujika ulwalamano noThixo ngokuthobela iimeko anokuthi ngazo aziswe eluthandweni lwezulu, okanye angathi, ngesenzo sakhe, azibeke ngaphandle kwemeko enothando; kodwa uYehova Yena, unguYe “izolo, nanamhla, ase nakuwo amaphakade.” Hebhere 13:8. Ukungathobeli kukaSawule kwabujika ubudlelane bakhe noThixo; kodwa iimeko zokwamkelwa kwakhe nguThixo azizange zijike, izinto ezifunekayo zazihleli zinjalo, kuba Yena [unguThixo] “ongenabuyambo nasithunzi sakujika.” Yakobi 1:17.ANa 630.1

    Wathi enentliziyo ebuhlungu, umprofeti wahamba ngentsasa elandelayo ukuya kuhlangana nokumkani owonayo. USamuweli wayenethemba lokuba, uya kuthi ngokucingisisa, uSawule asiqonde isono sakhe, aze athi ngokuguquka nokuzithoba, aphinde abuyiselwe ekuthandweni lizulu. Phofu ke, xa inyathelo lokuqala lithatyathiwe endleleni yokreqo, indlela iba lula. USawule, ethotywe isidima kukungathobeli kwakhe, weza wahlangana noSamuweli enobuxoki emlonyeni wakhe. Wadanduluka wathi, “Mawusikelelwe nguYehova; ndilifezile ilizwi likaYehova.”ANa 630.2

    Izandi ezawa ezindlebeni zomprofeti, zaphikisana nentetho yokumkani ongathobeliyo. Kumbuzo owawucace gca, “Liyintoni na eli lizwi lempahla emfutshane lisezindlebeni zam, noku kukhonya kweenkomo ndikuvayo?” uSawule waphendula, wathi, “Zezi bavela nazo kuma-Amaleki; ngokuba abantu bayisindisile eyona ilungileyo impahla emfutshane neenkomo, ukuze babingelele kuYehova uThixo wakho; ezinye sazisingela phantsi.” Abantu bayithobela imiyalelo kaSawule; kodwa, ukuzama ukuzikhusela, kwabalula ukubatyabeka ngesono sokungathobeli kwakhe.ANa 630.3

    Isigidimi sokwaliwa kukaSawule sazisa engathethekiyo yona intlungu entliziyweni kaSamuweli. Kwafuneka ukuba sigqithiswe phambi kukaIsrayeli, xababeyakubabezaliswelikratshinovuyo loloyiso ngenxa yoloyiso olwalubalelwa kubukroti nokuphatha kukakumkani wabo, kuba uSawule wayengazange ahlanganise uThixo nempumelelo kaIsrayeli kweli dabi; kodwa wathi umprofeti akubona ubungqina bovukelo lukaSawule, wavukelwa yingqumbo kuba yena obethandwa kakhulu nguThixo, angawugqitha umthetho weZulu akhokelele uIsrayeli ukuba one. USamuweli akazange aqhathwe liqhinga likakumkani. Ngentlungu exubene nengqumbo, wathi, “Yeka, ndikuxelele akuthethileyo uYehova kum ngobu busuku. . . . Akubanga yintloko yezizwe zakwaIsrayeli yini na, uzeyile wena? Wakuthambisa uYehova ukuba ngukumkani kumaIsrayeli?” Wawuphindisa umyalelo kaYehova ngokubhekisele kuma-Amaleki, waza wafuna isizathu sokungathobeli kukakumkani.ANa 631.1

    USawule waqhubeka nokuzithethelela: “Hayi, ndiliphulaphule ilizwi likaYehova, ndahamba ngendlela abendithume ngayo uYehova, ndamzisa uAgagi ukumkani wama-Amaleki, ndatshabalalisa ama-Amaleki. Besuka abantu bathabatha emaxhobeni: impahla emfutshane, neenkomo, neyona inentlahla kwizinto ezisingelwe phantsi, ukuze babingelele kuYehova, uThixo wakho, eGiligali.”ANa 631.2

    Ngamazwi angqongqo nangatyhilekanga, umprofeti wasityhalela bucala isiphephelo sobuxoki wavakalisa isigwebo esasingenakubuya sijikwe: “UYehova unonelele amadini anyukayo nemibingelelo, ngangokuba enonelele ukuphulaphulwa kwelizwi likaYehova, yini na? Yabona, ukuphulaphula kulungile ngaphezu kombingelelo, nokubaza iindlebe kulungile ngaphezu kwamanqatha eenkunzi zeegusha. Ngokuba ukuba neenkani kusisono esinjengokuvumisa, ubungqola bunjengenkonzo yezithixo nemilondekhaya. Ngenxa yokuba ulicekisile ilizwi likaYehova, naye ukucekisile ukuba ungabi kumkani.”ANa 631.3

    Wathi ukumkani akusiva esi sigwebo soyikekayo, wakhala, “Ndonile; ngokuba ndigqithile emthethweni kaYehova naselizwini lakho; kuba bendisoyika abantu, ndaphulaphula izwi labo.” Esoyika ukuchasa kukamprofeti, uSawule walivuma ityala lakhe, awayelikhanyele ngenkani ngaphambili; kodwa waqhubeka nokubeka ityala ebantwini, esithi wona ngenxa yokoyika bona.ANa 631.4

    Wayengebuhlungu ngenxa yesono, kodwa wayesoyika isohlwayo saso, nto leyo eyenza ukumkani kaIsrayeli ukuba ambongoze uSamuweli athi, “Khawusixolele ngoko isono sam; buya nam, ndiye ndinqule uYehova.” Ukuba uSawule wayenenguquko yenene, ngewayesivume esidlangalaleni isono sakhe; kodwa elona xhala lakhe likhulu yayikukukhusela igunya lakhe nokuzigcina ehlonitshwa ngabantu. Wanqwenela isidima sobukho bukaSamuweli ukuze bunike amandla impembelelo yakhe esizweni.ANa 631.5

    “Andiyi kubuya nawe;” yatsho impendulo yomprofeti, “ngokuba ulicekisile ilizwi likaYehova, naye uYehova ukucekisile, ukuba ungabi kumkani kumaIsrayeli.” Wathi xa ejika uSamuweli ukuba ahambe, ukumkani, esentlungwini yoloyiko, wambamba ngengubo yakhe ukuba amtsale abuye, kodwa yakrazuka ezandleni zakhe. Kwathi kwakwenzeka oku, umprofeti wathi, “UYehova ubukrazule kuwe namhla ubukumkani bakwaIsrayeli, wabunika ummelwane wakho olungileyo kunawe.”ANa 632.1

    USawule wakhathazwa kakhulu kukuphela kwemvisiswano phakathi kwakhe noSamuweli, ngaphezu kokungakholiseki kukaThixo. Wayesazi ukuba abantu babemthembe kakhulu umprofeti kunaye. Ukuba ngoku kungakho omnye othanjiswa njengokumkani ngomyalelo wezulu, waqonda uSawule ukuba akangekhe aligcine igunya lakhe. Woyika uvukelo olwalunokuvuka ngoko ukuba uSamuweli angamshiya ngokupheleleyo. USawule wambongoza umprofeti ukuba amhloniphe phambi kwamadoda amakhulu nabantu ngokuhlangana naye ekuhleni kwinkonzo yenkolo. Ngomyalelo wezulu, uSamuweli wasamkela isicelo sikakumkani, ukuze kungabikho sizathu sovukelo. Noko kunjalo, wahlala nje ekho, elingqina elizithuleleyo enkonzweni apho.ANa 632.2

    Isenzo sobulungisa, singqongqo sisoyikeka, kwakufuneka senziwe. USamuweli kufuneka alubonise uzuko lukaThixo ekuhleni ayikhalimele indlela kaSawule. Wayalela ukuba ukumkani wama-Amaleki aziswe phambi kwakhe. Ngaphezu kwabo bonke abawa ngekrele likaIsrayeli, uAgagi wayengoyena unetyala nongenanceba; owayebathiyile efuna ukubatshabalalisa abantu bakaThixo, nompembelelo yakhe yayiyeyona inamandla ekukhuthazeni unqulo lwezithixo. Wenza ngokomyalelo womprofeti, ezikhohlisa ngelithi, ingozi yokufa yayidlule. USamuweli wathi: Njengokuba ikrele lakho labahluthayo abafazi abantwana babo, uya kwenjiwa njalo unyoko phakathi kwabafazi, ukuhluthwa abantwana, USamuweli wamxhaxha uAgagi phambi koYehova.” Akuba ekwenzile oku, uSamuweli wabuyela ekhayeni lakhe eRama, uSawule waya kwelakhe eGibheha. Bahlangana kwabakanye kuphela emva koko umprofeti nokumkani.ANa 632.3

    Ukubizelwa kwakhe esihlalweni sobukhosi, uSawule wayenengcamango ethobekileyo ngezakhono zakhe, ekulungele ukufundiswa. Wayeswele ulwazi namava, enazo neziphako ezibi kakhulu esimilweni. Kunjalo, uYehova wamnika uMoya Oyingcwele ukuba abengumkhokeli nomncedi, wambeka kwisikhundla apho wayeya kuzikhulisa iimpawu ezintle ezifanele umlawuli kaIsrayeli. Ukuba wayehleli ezithobile, efuna ngamaxesha onke ukuthi rhoqo ekhokelwa bubulumko bezulu, wayeya kuba nakho ukuyenza imisebenzi yesikhundla sakhe esiphezulu ngempumelelo nokuhlonitshwa. Lo ngumsebenzi uYehova aceba ukuwenzela bonke abazinikela kuYe. Baninzi ababizele ezikhundleni emsebenzini waKhe kuba benomoya othobekileyo nofundisekayo. Ngokwazelelela kwaKhe uThixo, ubabeka apho banokufunda kuYe. Uya kubatyhilela iziphako zesimilo sabo, ukuze kuthi kubo bonke abalufunayo uncedo lwaKhe, abanike amandla okuzilungisa iziphoso zabo.ANa 632.4

    Yena uSawule waba nobuganga bokuphakanyiswa kwakhe, akamzukisa uThixo ngokungakholwa nangokungathobeli. Nangona ukuqala kwakhe ukubizelwa esihlalweni sobukhosi, wayethobekile engazithembanga, impumelelo yamenza wazithemba. Kwa-uloyiso lokuqala ekulawuleni kwakhe, lwaphemba ikratshi entliziyweni olwaba yingozi enkulu kakhulu kuye. Isibindi nobuchule bokulwa awakubonakalisayo ekuhlanguleni iYabhesh-giliyadi kwavusa uzondelelo kwisizwe sonke. Abantu bayinika imbeko ikumkani yabo, belibala ukuba wayesisenzeleli awayesebenza ngaso uThixo; kwathi, nangona kuqala, uSawule waya walunika uThixo uzuko, kwathi kamva, uzuko waluthabathela kuye. Walahlekwa ngumbono wokuxhomekeka kwakhe kuThixo, waza entliziyweni wemka kuYehova. Ngenxa yoko, indlela yalungiselelwa isono sakhe sobuganga nokuhlambela ingcwele eGiligali. Kwaoko kuzithemba kunobumfama kwamkhokelela ekubeni akwale ukungxoliswa nguSamuweli. USawule wavuma ukuba uSamuweli ungumprofeti othunywe nguThixo, kungoko kwakufuneka ekwamkele ukumngxolisa kwakhe, nangona yena ngokwakhe wayengaziboni ukuba wonile. Ukuba wayenentumekelelo ukukubona akuvume ukona kwakhe, la mava abuhlungu ayeya kuba lukhuselo kwixesha elizayo.ANa 633.1

    Ukuba uYehova wayethe ngelo xesha wazahlula ngokupheleleyo kuSawule, ngewayengazange abuye athethe naye ngomprofeti waKhe, esamnika umsebenzi oqinisekileyo amakawenze, khon’ ukuze alungise iimpazamo ezidlulileyo. Xa lowo uzibiza ngokuba ungumntwana kaThixo esuka angakhathali ekwenzeni intando yaKhe, ngaloo ndlela ephembelela abanye ukuba bangabi nantlonipho bangayikhathaleli imiyalelo kaYehova, zisenako iimpazamo zakhe ukwenziwa zibe luloyiso ukuba angakwamkela ukuthethisa ngomphefumlo olusizi, abuyele kuThixo ngokuzithoba nangokholo. Ukuthotywa kukoyiswa kuyakholisa ukuba yintsikelelo ngokusibonisa ukungakwazi kwethu ukwenza intando kaThixo ngaphandle koncedo lwaKhe.ANa 633.2

    Akuba uSawule esukile ekungxolisweni okwakuthunyelwe nguThixo ngoMoya Oyingcwele, wazingisa nokuzithethelela kwakhe ngenkani, wayala indlela ekuphela kwayo awayenokusebenza ngayo uThixo ukumsindisa ekuzilimazeni kwakhe. Wazahlula ngenkani kuThixo. Akazange afune ukulwamkela uncedo lwezulu okanye ukukhokelwa ade abuyele kuThixo ngokusivuma isono sakhe.ANa 634.1

    EGiligali, uSawule wazenza onenkathalo enkulu, xa wayemi phambi komkhosi kaIsrayeli enikela umbingelelo kuThixo. Ubungcwele bakhe, phofu, babunganyanisekanga. Inkonzo engcwele eyenziwa ngokuchasene ngqo nomyalelo kaThixo, yasebenza ukwenza buthakathaka izandla zikaSawule, imbeka kude noncedo uThixo awayenentumekelelo kakhulu ukumnika.ANa 634.2

    Kwiphulo lakhe ngakuma-Amaleki, uSawule wacinga ukuba wenze okufunekayo koko uYehova wayemyalele ukuba akwenze; kodwa uYehova wayenganeliswanga kukuthotyelwa ngenxalenye, engenayo nentumekelelo ukuyekela ekutyesheleni ngenjongo eqondakala ngolo hlobo. UThixo akamnikanga umntu ukuba asuke kwimiqathango yaKhe. UYehova wathi kuIsrayeli, “Ize ningenzi . . . elowo esenza okuthe tye emehlweni akhe;” kodwa “gcina uwaphulaphule la mazwi onke, ndikuwisela umthetho ngawo.” Duteronomi 12:8, 28.
