    69—Ukubizelwa KukaDavide Etroneni

Ukumkani wabonakalisa intlungu yakhe ngokuzila ngemini yomngcwabo; wawalandela amanqwanqwa athwele isidumbu njengoyintloko yabazili; wathi engcwabeni wenza umhobe wosizi owawukhalima ngokuhlabaniselayo kubabulali.     “Angafa ngokufa kwesidenge na uAbhinere?
    Izandla zakho bezingakhonkxwanga,
    Iinyawo zakho bezingafakwanga
    amakhamandela obhedu,
    Uwe njengowa phambi kwamabhedengu.”
    ANa 700.1

    Ukuhlonipha ngembeko kukaDavide lowo wayelutshaba olukhulu lwakhe kwamzuzisa ukuthenjwa nokuthandwa ngabo bonke kwaIsrayeli. “Bakugqala oko bonke abantu, kwalunga emehlweni abo; njengokuba konke abekwenza ukumkani bekulunga emehlweni abantu bonke. Bazi ke abantu bonke namaIsrayeli onke ngaloo mini, ukuba ukubulawa kuka-Abhinere, unyana kaNere, bekungaphume kukumkani.” Kwiindawo zasemfihlakalweni zamaphakathi athenjiweyo nabasebenzi ukumkani wathetha ngokwaphulwa komthetho, ekuvuma ukungakwazi kwakhe ukubohlwaya ababulali njengoko efuna, wabayekela kubulungisa bukaThixo: “Anazi na, ukuba namhlanje kuwe umthetheli, umntu omkhulu kwaIsrayeli? Ke ndisebuthathaka, ndisathanjiswa namhla ukuba ndibe ngukumkani; la madoda, oonyana bakaTseruya, alukhuni kum. Akwaba uYehova angambuyekeza umenzi wobubi kwangobubi bakhe.”ANa 700.2

    UAbhinere wayenyanisekile kwizithembiso nokumela kwakhe uDavide, ukanti iinjongo zakhe zaziphantsi zinomona. Wazingisa ukumchasa ukumkani onyulwe nguThixo, ngokulindela ukuzizuzela imbeko kuye. Yayiyintiyo, udano, nemvakalelo yentiyo eyenza ukuba awushiye umsebenzi awusebenze ixesha elide kakhulu; wathi, ngokuwelela kwicala likaDavide, wathemba ukufumana esona sikhundla siphezulu sembeko ekusebenzeni kwakhe.     “Weva unyana kaSawule ukuba ufile uAbhinere eHebron, zawa izandla zakhe. OnkeamaIsrayeli akhwankqiswa yiloonto.” Kwakucacile kona ukuba ubukumkani abuyi kuba nathuba lide bukho.     Bavela phambi kukaDavide benobungqina obugqunywe ligazi kulwaphulo-mthetho lwabo, besithi, “Nantsi intloko kaIshbhoshete unyana kaSawule, utshaba lwakho, elube lufuna umphefumlo wakho; uYehova uyiphindezele inkosi yam namhla kuSawule, nakwimbewu yakhe.” Kanti ke, uDavide, otrone yakhe yamiswa nguThixo ngokwaKhe, nowahlangulwa nguThixo kubachasi bakhe, akazange afune luncedo longcatsho ukuzinzisa igunya lakhe.     Emva kokufa kukaIshbhoshete kwabakho ulangazelelo oluthe tshitshilili kwiinkokeli zakwaIsrayeli lokuba uDavide abe ngukumkani wazo zonke izizwe. “Zeza zonke izizwe zakwaIsrayeli kuDavide eHebron, zatsho ukuthi, “Uyabona, silithambo lakho nenyama yakho.” Atsho esithi, “Ibinguwe obesakuphuma ungena namaIsrayeli.     Ngaphezu kwamawaka asibhozo enzala ka-Aron nababaLevi, babemsebenzela uDavide. Ukuguquka ekuthandeni kwabantu, kwaya kwabonakala kwaye kunecala. Uvukelo lwathotha lunesidima, lufanele umsebenzi omkhulu ababewenza. Phantse isiqingatha sesigidi semiphefumlo, ababephantsi kolawulo lukaSawule ngaphambili, babuthelana eHebron nesiphaluka. Iinduli neentili ngokwazo zazinyakazelazizihlwele.Iyureyokuthweswa yabekwa; indoda eyayigxothiwe kwibhotwe likaSawule yasabela ezintabeni nasezindulini nasemiqolombeni yomhlaba ukusindisa ubomi bayo, yayiza kunikwa eyona mbeko iphezulu enokubekwa phezu komntu ngomnye umntu. Ababingeleli namadoda amakhulu, kwambethwe iingubo zesikhundla esingcwele, abaphathi namasoldati anamakrele neminqwazi ebengezelayo, abahambi bakude, bema bonke ukuba bakubone ukuthweswa kukakumkani isithsaba. UDavide wayenxibe ingubo yobukhosi. Ioli engcwele yabekwa ebunzini lakhe ngumbingeleli omkhulu, kuba ukuthanjiswa nguSamuweli kwakuprofeta into eyayiza kwenzeka ekubekweni kukakumkani. Ixesha lalifikile, waza uDavide, ngenkonzo ezukileyo, wabekelwa bucala kwisikhundla sakhe njengommeli kaThixo. Intonga yokulawula yabekwa ezandleni zakhe.
