Chapter 7—The Health Reform Vision “The Cure” June 6, 1863

As noted in chapter 3, all biblical doctrines are true and important, though not all are of equal stature and standing in God’s sight. Many doctrines find their proper, rightful place as part of the great “platform” of the truth “as it is in Jesus,” while others have been designated as beacon or “pillar” doctrines, primarily serving the function of upholding and supporting the entire platform of truth.GVEGW 90.1

Just so, God had His priorities in the timely introduction of His special health messages to the group that would become known as Seventh-day Adventists. As we survey the topical content of Ellen White’s visions during approximately the first 20 years of her ministry, three identifiable categories emerge—one in each of the three successive decades here represented.GVEGW 90.2

This is not to say, however, that only those topics were presented in vision during these periods. Rather, the preeminent emphasis in these decades appears to have focused upon certain particular categories of subjects, for cogent and timely reasons.GVEGW 90.3
