At the bottom is the quotation, “Never erred, and never can err,” to which reference is made on page 57 as one of the propositions put forth by Gregory VII. The original proposition as put forth in Latin, when properly translated reads: WWPGC 33.8
“The Roman Church never has erred, nor, according to the testimony of Scripture, will it ever err.” WWPGC 33.9
This is somewhat different from the statement that it “never can err.” WWPGC 33.10
