Wayesazi ukuba amalinge aKhe okuhlaziya ububingeleli obonakeleyo ayeya kuba lilize; nangona kunjalo, umsebenzi waKhe kufuneka wenziwe; kubantu abangakholwayo kufuneka bunikiwe ubungqina bomsebenzi wezulu awuzeleyo. UbuThixo bathi tshazi ebuntwini, bumnika uKristu undiliseko nozuko ngendlela engazanga yabonakala ngaphambili. Abo babemi kufuphi kakhulu kuYe, bahlela kangangoko banako ukutyhala isihlwele ukuba sibhekele. Ngaphandle kwabafundi nje abambalwa, uMsindisi wama yedwa. Kwathi nzwanga. Boyika ukuhlangana naLowo wayemandla amakhulu kangako, okukhangela nje kwaKhe kukodwa kwagxotha ababingeleli nabaphathi bemka phambi kwaKhe. Labakho iqela elikhulu elatyhudisa phakathi kwenyambalala engxamileyo, linga lingafikelela kuYe, Yena owayekuphela kwethemba labo. UYesu wayephilise izifo zabo; wayebafunqulele ezingalweni zaKhe, esamkela ukwanga kwabo kombulelo ozaliswe luthando, baye abanye babo belele esifubeni saKhe ngexesha wayefundisa abantu. Baphinda oohosana bemini yezolo, bephakamisa amasundu ngoloyiso phambi koMsindisi. Itempile yahlokoma iphindaphinda yimikhwazo, “Makabongwe lo uzayo esegameni likaYehova!” “Yabona, uKumkani wakho uza kuwe, elilungisa, enosindiso.” Nd. 118:26; Zek. 9:9. “Hosana kuye unyana kaDavide!” ULw 592.3
Isandi sala mazwi onwabileyo angalawulwanga ayesisikhubekiso kubaphathi betempile. Baqala ukujikeleza benqanda lo mboniso. Bakubeka phambi kwabantu ukuba indlu kaThixo yayihlanjelwa ziinyawo zabantwana nemikhwazo yovuyo. Bathi bakubona ukuba amazwi abo awenzi nto ebantwini, babhenela kuKristu: “Uyayiva na into abayithethayo aba? Athi ke uYesu kubo, Ewe, anizanga nikulese na ukuthi, Emlonyeni weentsana ezanyayo [emabeleni], ulungiselele udumiso?” Isiprofeto sasikuxele kwangaphambili ukuba uKristu uya kuvakaliswa njengokumkani, kwaye elo lizwi limele ukuzalisekiswa. AbaFarisi babedideke ngokupheleleyo, bephazamiseke ngeyona ndlela. Lowo babengakwazi ukumoyikisa wayephethe. UYesu wayethabathe indawo yaKhe yokuba ngumkhuseli wetempile. Akazanga ngaphambili walithabathela kuYe igunya lobukhosi elinjalo. Akuzanga ngaphambili amazwi nemisebenzi yaKhe ibe namandla angako. Waye yenzile imisebenzi emikhulu kuyo yonke iYerusalem, kodwa akazanga wayenza ngendlela endilisekileyo nenomtsalane ngolo hlobo. Phambi kwabantu ababebone imisebenzi yaKhe emangalisayo, ababingeleli nabaphathi abazange babe nesibindi sokububonisa ubutshaba babo. Nangona babefuthekile ngumsindo bedidekile yimpendulo yaKhe, abazange bakwazi kwenza nantoni enokudlula apho ngaloo mini. ULw 593.1
Ngentsasa elandelayo, iSanhedrin yaphinda yaqwalasela ikhondo emayililandele ngakuYesu. Kwiminyaka emithathu eyadlulayo, bathi bafuna umqondiso wokuba nguMesiya kwaKhe. Kususela ngelo xesha, wenza imisebenzi yamandla kulo lonke ilizwe. Wayephilise abagulayo, wadlisa ngommangaliso amawaka abantu, wahamba phezu kwamaza, wathulisa ulwandle olulwayo. Waphinda phinda ukuzifunda iintliziyo zabantu njengencwadi evuliweyo; wakhupha iidemon, wavusa abafileyo. Bagqiba ukuba ngoku bangafuni mqondiso wokuba nguMesiya kwaKhe, kodwa bazame ukuba atsho into okanye isaziso abanokuthi ngaso bakwazi ukumgweba. ULw 593.2
Bebuyela etempileni apho wayefundisa khona, baya kuYe bambuza: “Ezi zinto uzenza ngagunya lini na” Kananjalo ngubani na okunike eli gunya?” Babelindele ukuba uza kuthi igunya laKhe lalivela kuThixo. Babezimisele ukulikhanyela ibango elinjalo. Wasuka uYesu wabahlangabeza ngombuzo owawukhangeleka uthetha ngomnye umba, waza wayenza impendulo yaKhe yakhangeleka ixhomekeke kwimpendulo yabo kulo mbuzo waKhe. “Ubhaptizo lukaYohane,” wathi, lwaluphuma phi na, emazulwini, ebantwini, sini na?” ULw 593.3
Bazibona ababingeleli ukuba basengxakini ekungekho buchule nabuciko bunokubakhulula kuyo. Ukuba bathe, ubhaptizo lukaYohane lwaluvela ezulwini, ukungemi ezwini kwabo kwakuya kucaca.UKristu wayezakuthi,Kunganikeukuba ningakholwakuye?UYohane wayengqine ngoKristu, ngokuthi, “Nantso iMvana kaThixo, ethwala isuse isono sehlabathi.” Yohane 1:29. Ukuba ababingeleli babekholelwa kubungqina bukaYohane, bangakukhanyela njani ukuba nguMesiya kukaKristu? Ukuba batsho eyona nto babeyikholelwa, eyokuba ulungiselelo lukaYohane lwalulolwabantu, babeza kuzihlisela isaqhwithi sengqumbo; kuba abantu babekholelwa ukuba uYohane wayengumprofeti. ULw 593.4
Ngomdla omkhulu, isihlwele salindela isigqibo. Sasisazi ukuba ababingeleli babethe bayakwamkela ukulungisela kukaYohane, kwaye babebalindele ukuba bavume ngaphandle kwengxoxo ukuba wayethunywe nguThixo. Emva kokuba bebonisene bebodwa, ababingeleli bagqiba kwelokuba bangazifaki engxakini. Ngokuhanahanisa bazenza abangaziyo, bathi, “Asazi.” “Nam ke andinixeleli,” watsho uKristu, “ukuba ndizenza ngagunya lini na ezi zinto.” ULw 594.1
Ababhali, ababingeleli, nabaphathi bebethwa bathi cwaka. Bedidekile bedanisiwe, bema bethobe iintshiyi, bengakwazi ukuqhubeka nemibuzo yabo kuKristu. Abaninzi kwabo babelindele ngomdla isiphumo sembuzwano noYesu ekugqibeleni babeza kuba ngabafundi baKhe, betsalelwe kuYe kuqala ngamazwi aKhe ngaloo mini yeziganeko. Umboniso wasentendelezweni yetemmpile awuzange ucime ezingqondweni zabo. Umahluko phakathi kukaYesu nombingeleli omkhulu njengoko babethetha kunye wawumkhulu. Isikhulu setempile esinekratshi sasambethe iingubo ezintle zexabiso. Phezu kwentloko yaso kwakukho umnqwazi wodidi lomphathi. Inkangeleko yakhe yayiyeyobukhulu, iinwele zakhe neendevu eziyintshebe ende zazikhangeleka okwesilivere ngenxa yokukhula kwakhe ngeminyaka. Imbonakalo yayidala ukoyika kwabayikhangeleyo. Phambi kwale ndedeba ihloniphekileyo, kwakumi iNgangalala yezulu, ingenazihombiso nazinto zibonakalayo. Iingubo zayo zazibethwe luhambo; ubuso buluthuthu, bubonisa usizi oluzingileyo; kanti ke, kwakubhalwe undiliseko nobubele obabuchasene ngendlela emangalisayo nekratshi, nokuzithemba kwanomoya wengqumbo wombingeleli omkhulu. Abaninzi kwabo bawavayo amazwi bazibona nezenzo zikaYesu etempileni, ukususela ngelo xesha, bamnika indawo yokuhlala ezintliziyweni zabo njengomprofeti kaThixo. Kwathi kwakuza kwicala laKhe ukuthandwa ngabantu, intiyo yababingeleli ngakuYe yanda. Ubulumko awasinda ngabo kwimigibe eyayithiyele iinyawo zaKhe, eyaba bubungqina obutsha bobuThixo baKhe, bongeza amandla kwingqumbo yabo. ULw 594.3
Kukhuphiswano lwaKhe nabafundisi, yayingeyiyo injongo kaKristu ukubathobela phantsi bachasibaKhe.Wayengenako ukonwaba kukubabona besengxingweni. Nguwuphi na kwabo bobabini owenza ukuthanda kukayise?” ULw 595.2

Babewulandele kakuhle umzekeliso, baza ngoku bakhawuleza baphendula, bathi, “Ngowokuqala.” Emilisela amehlo aKhe kubo ngokuthe nzo, uYesu waphendula ngelizwi elibukhali nelinendili, esithi: “Inene ndithi kuni, Bayaniphangela ke ukungena ebukumkanini bukaThixo ababuthi berhafu namahenyukazi. Ngokuba uYohane weza kuni ngendlela yobulungisa, anakholwa nguye; kodwa bakholwa nguye bona ababuthi berhafu namahenyukazi; ke nina, nakukubona oko, anibuyanga nizohlwaye, ukuze nikholwe nguye.” ULw 595.3
Ababingeleli nabaphathi, bengenako ukuzinceda, banika impendulo eyiyo kumbuzo kaKristu, waba ngaloo ndlela uyayifumana imbono yabo ngakunyana wokuqala. Lo nyana wayemele ababuthi berhafu, abo babedeliwe bethiyiwe ngabaFarisi. Ababuthi berhafu babeziphethe kakubi kakhulu. Ngokwenene babe ngabagqithi bomthetho kaThixo, bebonisa ngokupheleleyo ngobomi babo ukumelana noko akufunayo. Babe ngabantu abangenambulelo, abakhohlakeleyo; bathi bakuthunywa ukuba bayokusebenza esidiliyeni seNkosi, baphendula ngendlela yokwala okunendelelo. Wathi kodwa akufika uYohane, eshumayela inguquko nobhaptizo, ababuthi berhafu basamkela isigidimi sakhe, babhaptizwa. ULw 595.4
Unyana wesibini wayemele amadoda azinkokeli zesizwe sakwaYuda. Abanye babaFarisi babeguqukile balwamkela ubhaptizo lukaYohane; kodwa iinkokeli azizanga zakuvuma ukuba uthunywe nguThixo. Izilumkiso zakhe nokusingela kwakhe phantsi [izinto ezingalunganga] akuzange kubakhokelele ekuguqukeni. “Bazitshitshisela icebo likaThixo kuba bengabhaptizwanga nguye.” Luka 7:30. Basicekisa isigidimi sakhe. Njengonyana wesibini, owathi akubizwa, wathi, “Ndiyaya, nkosi,” kodwa akaya, ababingeleli nabaphathi babesithi bayathobela, kodwa besenza ngokungathobeli. Ababingeleli nabaphathi babengenayo intumekelelo yokuzinyamezela ezi nyaniso ziphengululayo; bahlala bathi tu, phofu, bethembe ukuba uYesu wayeza kuthetha into ababeya kuthi bayijikele kuYe; kodwa ke, kwakusekuninzi ekwakufuneka bekunyamezele. ULw 596.1
“Yivani omnye umzekeliso,” Watsho uKristu: “Bekukho umninindlu othile owatyala isidiliya, wasibiyela ngothango, wemba kuso isixovulelo seediliya, wakha inyango, waqeshisa ngaso kubalimi, wahambela kwelinye. Kuthe ke lakusondela ixesha leziqhamo, wathuma abakhonzi bakhe kubalimi abo, ukuya kwamkela iziqhamo zaso. Besuka abalimi babathabatha abakhonzi bakhe, bathi omnye bamtyabula, omnye bambulala, nomnye bamgibisela ngamatye. Wabuya wathuma abanye abakhonzi, bebaninzi kunabokuqala, benjenjalo nakubo. Uthe ke kamva wathuma kubo unyana wakhe, esithi, Baya kumhlonela yena unyana wam. Bathe ke bakumbona unyana abalimi, batshono ukuthi, Lo yindlalifa; yizani simbulale, sihlale nelifa lakhe. Bamthabatha, bamkhuphela ngaphandle kwesidiliya, bambulala. Xa athe weza ngoko umnini-sidiliya, uya kwenza ntoni na kwabo balimi?” ULw 596.2
UYesu wayethetha nabo bonke abantu ababekho, kodwa ababingeleli nabaphathi baphendula. “Uya kubatshabalalisa kakubi abangendawo abo,” batsho, “aze isidiliya eso aqeshise ngaso kubalimi bambi, abomamkelisa iziqhamo ngamaxesha azo.” Abathethayo babengayiqondanga kuqala intsingiselo yomzekeliso, kodwa ngoku babona ukuba bavakalise isigwebo sabo. Kulo mzekeliso, umninindlu umele uThixo, isidiliya simele isizwe sakwaYuda, kuze uthando lumele umthetho ongcwele owawusisikhuselo sabo. Inqaba yayingumfuziselo wetempile. Umnikazi wesidiliya wayenze konke anako okudingekayo ukuze sibe nempumelelo. “Kube kusekho ntoni na eyenziwayo esidiliyeni sam,” utsho, “endingayenzanga ke kuso?” Isa. 5:4. Kwakumelwe ngaloo ndlela ukumkhathalela okungapheliyo kukaThixo uIsrayeli. Kwathi, njengoko abasebenzi besidiliya kwakufuneka bebuyisele enkosini inxalenye efaneleyo kwiziqhamo zesidiliya, ngokunjalo abantu bakaThixo kwakufuneka bemzukisile ngobomi obusabela kumalungelo angcwele abanawo. Bona bathi, njengabasebenzi besidiliya, bazibulala izicaka ezazithunywe yinkosi kubo ukuba babanikele isiqhamo, enjenjalo amaYuda ukubabulala abaprofeti ababethunywe nguThixo ukuba ababizele enguqukweni. Umthunywa emva komthunywa babulawa. Ukuza kuthi ga ngoku, umzekeliso awuxoxisi, kwaye nakoko kwalandelayo wabonakala kakuhle. Ebakhangele ngemfesane, uMsindisi waqhubeka, wathi, “anizanga nilese na ezibhalweni ukuthi, Ilitye abalicekisayo abakhi, lelona laba yintloko yembombo; kwavela eNkosini oku, kungummangaliso emehlweni ethu? Ngenxa yoko ndithi kuni, Ubukumkani bukaThixo buya kususwa kuni, bunikwe uhlanga oluzivelisayo iziqhamo zabo. Kanjalo lowo uwe phezu kweli litye uya kutyumka, ke lowo lithe lamwela liya kumcola.” ULw 597.1
Esi siprofeto sasiphindwa rhoqo ngamaYuda ezindlwini zesikhungu, esibhekisa kuMesiya ozayo. UKristu wayelilitye lembombo lexesha lamaYuda, kwanelecebo lonke losindiso. Ilitye lesiseko sabakhi bamaYuda, ababingeleli nabaphathi bakaIsrayeli, ngoku babengalamkeli. UMsindisi wayitsalela ingqondo yabo kwiziprofeto ezaziza kubonisa ingozi abakuyo. Amazwi aKhe ayenenye injongo. Ekubuzeni umbuzo, esithi, “Xa athe weza ngoko umnini sidiliya, uya kwenza ntoni na kwabo balimi?” UKristu wayila ukuba abaFarisi baze baphendule njengoko benzayo. Wayila ukuba kuza kufuneka ukuba bazigwebe. Izilumkiso zaKhe, ngokusilela ukubenza baguquke, zaziya kusitywina isiphelo sabo, kwaye wayenqwenela ukuba babone ukuba bazise ngokwabo intshabalalo phezu kwabo. Ukuba bangayikhethela ngendlela engeyiyo le ndawo ibalulekileyo, ukhuseleko lwaso sonke isakhiwo lwaluya kuba sengozini. Kufuneka befumene ilitye elaliza kukwazi ukumelana neempembelelo zelanga, zeqabaka, nezemimoya evuthuzayo. Ayekhethiwe amatye aliqela amaxesha ngamaxesha, kodwa athi phantsi kobunzima obukhulu, aqhekeka aziingceba. Amanye awazange akwazi ukumelana novavanyo lwenguquko ezikhawulezileyo zemo-zulu. Woba yingcwele kuni; ke yena uya kuba lilitye lokubetheka, neliwa lokukhubeka, kuzo zombini izindlu zakwaIsrayeli, abe sisibatha nomgibe kubemi baseYerusalem. Kubulumko baKhe obungenamda, uThixo wanyula ilitye lesiseko, walibeka ngokwaKhe. Walibiza ngokuthi, “lisisiseko esiqinisekileyo.” Umhlaba wonke unako ukubeka phezu kwalo yonke imithwalo neentlungu zawo. UKristu “ulilitye elivavanyiweyo.” Abo bathembele kuYe,abasayikuze badaniswe.Ukuthwele konkeukuvavanywa. Nisiza nje kuyo, ililitye eliphilileyo, licekisiwe okunene ngabantu, kodwa linyuliwe nguThixo, linqabile: nani ngokwenu, njengamatye aphilileyo, yakhekani nibe yindlu eyiyeyomoya, isibingeleli esingcwele sokunyusa imibingelelo eyiyeyomoya, eyamkeleka kakuhle kuye uThixo ngoYesu Kristu. Kungoko ikhoyo nokubakho esibhalweni indawo ethi, Yabona, ndibeka eZiyon ilitye lembombo, elinyuliweyo, elinqabileyo; lowo ukholwayo kuye akayi kukha adaniswe. Kuni ngoko bakholwayo, liyimbeko; ke kwabangevayo, ilitye abalicekisayo abakhi, lelona laba yintlokoyembombo, ilitye ke lokuwisa, iliwa ke lokukhubekisa,kwabo bakhubekayo, bengaliva ilizwi.” 1 Petros 2:3-8. Kwabo bakholwayo, uKristu usisiseko esiqinileyo. Aba ngabo abawa phezu kweLitye baza bophuka. Ukuzinikela kuKristu nokholo kuYe kuko okumelwe apha. Ukuwa phezu kweLitye nokwaphuka kukuncama obethu ubulungisa size siye kuKristu ngokuzithoba komntwana, siguquke ekugqitheni kwizikreqo zethu, nokuba sikholelwe kuthando lwaKhe oluxolelayo. Ngokunjalo, kungokholo nokuthobela esithi sakhele phezu kukaKristu osisiseko sethu. ULw 599.3
Phezu kweli litye liphilileyo, amaYuda neeNtlanga ngokufanayo banako ukwakha. Kuphela kwesiseko esi esinokwakha phezu kwaso ngokuqinileyo. Sibanzi ngokwaneleyo kubantu bonke, saye somelele ngokwaneleyo ukuthwala ubunzima nemithwalo yalo lonke ilizwe. Ngokuhlangana noKristu, ilitye eliphilileyo, bonke abakha phezu kwesi siseko bathi babe ngamatye aphilileyo. Abantu abaninzi bathi ngeyabo imizamo, bombiwe, bagudiswe, benziwe bahle; kodwa abakwazi ukuba “ngamatye aphilileyo,” kuba abahlangananga noKristu. Ngaphandle koku kuhlangana, akukho mntu unokusindiswa. Ngaphandle kobomi bukaKristu ngaphakathi kwethu, asinako ukuma kwiinkqwithela zesihendo. Inkuseleko yethu engunaphakade ixhomekeke ekwakheni kwethu phezu kwesiseko esiqinileyo. Iinkulungwane namhlanje zakha phezu kweziseko ezingavavanywanga. Ithi yakufika imvula, zivuthuze izaqhwithi, zize izikhukhula, iyawa indlu yabo, kuba ayisekwanga phezu kweliTye eliyintloko yembombo, uKristu Yesu. ULw 599.4
“Kwabo bakhubekayo, bengaliva ilizwi,” uKristu ulilitye lokukhubekisa. Sekunjalo “ilitye abalicekisayo abakhi, lelona laba yintloko yembombo.” Njengelitye elacekiswayo, uKristu, kumsebenzi awayewuzele emhlabeni, wanyamezela ukungakhathalelwa nokuphathwa kakubi. Waba nguLowo [kwathiwa ngaYe]: “Udeliwe, ushiyiwe ngabantu; yindoda enomvandedwa, eqhelene nesifo; . . . udeliwe, thina ke asambeka.” Isa. 53:3. Lona ixesha lokuba azukiswe lalikufuphi. Ngokuvuka kwabafileyo wayeza kwaziswa njengo“Nyana kaThixo, [o]namandla.” Roma 1:4. Ekubuyeni kwaKhe kwesibini, uya kubonakalaliswa eyiNkosi yezulu nomhlaba. Abo ngoku babeza kumbethelela, baya kubazi ubukhulu baKhe. Phambi kwendalo yonke, ilitye elacekiswayo laliza kuba yintloko yembombo. ULw 600.1
“Lowo lithe lamwela liya kumcola.” Abantu ababemala uYesu, kungekudala babeza kusibona isixeko sabo nesizwe sabo zitshatyalaliswa. Ibhongo labo laliza kudilizwa, lisasazwe njengothuli emoyeni. Yaba yintoni eyatshabalalisa amaYuda? Yayililitye, ekwakuya kuthi ukuba akhe phezu kwalo, libe yinkuseleko yawo. Yayikukulunga kukaThixo okwadelwayo, ubulungisa obachaswayo, inceba eyacekiswayo. Igazi elaphalala eKalvari lalinobunzima obawahlisela kwintshabalalo yeli hlabathi kunye nehlabathi elizayo. Kuya kuba njalo ngemini enkulu yokugqibela, xa umgwebo uya kuwiswa phezu kwabo balwalayo ubabalo lukaThixo. UKristu, ilitye labo lokukhubeka, uya kubonakala kubo ngelo xesha eyintaba yempindezelo. Ubuqaqawuli bembonakalo yaKhe, ebubomi kumalungisa, iya kuba ngumlilo odlayo kwabakhohlakeleyo. Ngenxa yothando olungamkelwanga, ubabalo oludeliweyo, umoni uya kutshabalala. ULw 600.2
Ngemizekeliso emininzi, nezilumkiso ezaphindaphindwayo, uYesu wabonisa ukuba siya kuba yintoni isiphumo kumaYuda sokwala uNyana kaThixo. Ngala mazwi, wayebhekisa kuzo zonke izizukulwana ezalayo ukumamkela njengoMhlanguli wazo. Sonke isilumkiso sesazo. Itempile ehlanjelwayo, unyana ongathobeliyo, umsebenzi sidiliya okhohlakeleyo, umakhi ongenankathalo, bonke banabo abafana nabo kumoni ngamnye.
