    ADAM SHOWN THE FUTURE

Adam was shown many of the important things that would happen in the future. He saw what would happen between the time he left Eden and the Flood. Then he saw what would happen down through the years to the time when Christ would come to earth.SRme 1.140

Jesus' love for Adam and all of Adam's future children would lead the Son of God to humble Himself to take human nature. Then all who would believe on Jesus would be lifted up to receive His nature. Jesus' sacrifice was great enough to save everyone in the world. But only a few people would accept the salvation made possible through Jesus' wonderful sacrifice. Most people would not agree to follow God's requirement to be saved. They would rather sin and disobey God's law than repent and obey God. People would not want to depend by faith on what Jesus' sacrifice could do for them. Jesus' sacrifice is of great value. Jesus' sacrifice makes people who accept His sacrifice more precious to God than the purest gold.SRme 1.141

Adam was also shown what would happen at the end of time. He saw that crime, guilt, and wickedness would increase because people would sin every time they were tempted. Adam saw that, because people would sin so much, the curse of God would come more and more on the human race, on cattle, and upon the earth.SRme 1.142

Adam was shown that wickedness and violence would continue to increase. But through all this terrible sin and its sad results there would be a few people who would be faithful to God and His truth. Some people would be faithful when others all around them were involved in terrible sin and impure living.SRme 1.143

Adam was shown clearly how terrible sin is. Sin is disobeying God's law. Sin causes people's bodies, minds, and souls to become very weak. Because of this, the world is filled with every kind of misery. People live fewer years now because they disobey God's holy laws. Compared with Adam and Eve, human beings today do not seem to be worth much. People have sinned so often, they have a difficult time understanding what Jesus did for them on Calvary and how wonderful the plan of salvation is.SRme 1.144

The people of this earth are weak in body, mind, and soul. But Jesus still loves them. He is remaining true to the purpose for which He left heaven. Jesus is interested in sick, weak, sinful human beings. He invites them to hide their weaknesses and failures in Him. If they will come to Him, He will provide for all their needs.SRme 1.145
