    APPOINTMENTS DURING THE WEEK

    Once a month, on the first Tuesday evening of the month there is a meeting of all the district leaders and church elders to consider the spiritual interests of the church as connected with the various districts. This meeting is held in the north vestry of the Tabernacle at 7 o’clock in the winter, and at 7:45 in the summer. On these occasions the presiding officer is virtually brought in contact with every Sabbath-keeper in Battle Creek, whether he belongs to this church or not.MBC94 4.7

    Monday evening, at 7:15, there is a meeting of the Sabbath-school officers and teachers, for consultation, and study of the various lessons. Place of meeting, east vestry of the Tabernacle.MBC94 4.8

    Every Tuesday afternoon, at 1:30, there is a meeting of the Maternal and Dorcas Society, the members of which spend the afternoon in repairing and fitting garments for the needy in the church. These working meetings are held in the maternal room in the Tabernacle.MBC94 5.1

    Sabbath afternoon, at 4 o’clock in the summer, and at 3 o’clock in the winter, prayer and conference meetings are held in sixteen different places in the city, to maintain a healthy, spiritual state in the church.MBC94 5.2

    Wednesday evening the general missionary meetings of the church are held in the various districts. At these meetings in the first week of each month the subject of FOREIGN MISSIONS is considered. At the second week’s meeting the RELIGIOUS LIBERTY topic is taken up. The meeting of the third week is occupied with the subject of HOME MISSIONS. And at the meeting of the fourth week the HEALTH AND TEMPERANCE question is considered. Time of meeting, 7 P. M.MBC94 5.3

    Once a month, beginning with the third week in January, on Thursday evening, at 7 o’clock in winter and 7:30 in summer, the Church Officers meet in the Committee Room of the Tabernacle to attend to the business matters of the church. Special meetings may be called at any time. By vote of the congregation all its business interests, temporal and spiritual, are first considered and acted upon by this meeting.MBC94 5.4
