    Matthew 6

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen (Matthew 6:5; Matthew 6:16; Matthew 23:5) of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.KJRV — Matthew 6:1

Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have (Luke 6:24) their reward.KJRV — Matthew 6:2

But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:KJRV — Matthew 6:3

That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward (Jeremiah 17:10; Matthew 6:6; Matthew 6:18) thee openly.KJRV — Matthew 6:4

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen (Matthew 6:1; Matthew 6:16; Matthew 23:5) of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.KJRV — Matthew 6:5

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward (Jeremiah 17:10; Matthew 6:4; Matthew 6:18) thee openly.KJRV — Matthew 6:6

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.KJRV — Matthew 6:7

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth (Matthew 6:32; Luke 12:30; Philippians 4:19) what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.KJRV — Matthew 6:8

After (Luke 11:2) this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.KJRV — Matthew 6:9

Thy kingdom (Daniel 2:44; Matthew 3:2; Matthew 4:17; Matthew 4:23; Matthew 10:7; Matthew 12:28; Luke 10:9; Luke 11:20; Luke 21:31) come, Thy will (Matthew 26:42; Luke 22:42; Acts 21:14) be done in earth, as it is in heaven.KJRV — Matthew 6:10

Give (Proverbs 30:8; Isaiah 33:16; Luke 11:3) us this day our daily bread.KJRV — Matthew 6:11

And forgive (Exodus 34:7; Psalms 32:1; Psalms 130:4; Matthew 9:2; Matthew 26:28; Ephesians 1:7; 1 John 1:9) us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.KJRV — Matthew 6:12

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: (Matthew 5:37; Matthew 13:19; Matthew 13:38; John 17:15; 2 Thessalonians 3:3; 1 John 2:13; 1 John 3:12; 1 John 5:18) For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.KJRV — Matthew 6:13

For if ye forgive (Proverbs 11:17; Matthew 5:7; Matthew 18:33) men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:KJRV — Matthew 6:14

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.KJRV — Matthew 6:15

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear (Matthew 6:1; Matthew 6:5; Matthew 23:5) unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.KJRV — Matthew 6:16

But thou, when thou fastest, anoint (2 Samuel 12:20) thine head, and wash thy face;KJRV — Matthew 6:17

That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward (Jeremiah 17:10; Matthew 6:4; Matthew 6:6) thee openly.KJRV — Matthew 6:18

Lay not up for yourselves treasures (Proverbs 23:4; Luke 12:21; Luke 12:33; Luke 18:22; 1 Timothy 6:9; Hebrews 13:5; James 5:2) upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:KJRV — Matthew 6:19

But lay up (1 Timothy 6:19) for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:KJRV — Matthew 6:20

For (Luke 12:34) where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.KJRV — Matthew 6:21

The light (Luke 11:34) of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.KJRV — Matthew 6:22

But if thine eye (Deuteronomy 15:9; Proverbs 23:6; Matthew 20:15) be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!KJRV — Matthew 6:23

No man can serve two (1 Kings 18:21; Luke 16:13) masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Luke 16:9; Luke 16:11; Luke 16:13)KJRV — Matthew 6:24

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought (Luke 10:41; Luke 11:22; Philippians 4:6; 1 Peter 5:7) for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?KJRV — Matthew 6:25

Behold the fowls (Job 35:11; Job 38:41; Psalms 104:27; Matthew 10:29; Luke 12:24) of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?KJRV — Matthew 6:26

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit (Psalms 39:5; Luke 12:25) unto his stature?KJRV — Matthew 6:27

And why (Luke 12:26) take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:KJRV — Matthew 6:28

And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon (1 Kings 10:7; 2 Chronicles 9:6; 2 Chronicles 9:13; Luke 12:27) in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.KJRV — Matthew 6:29

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass (Luke 12:28; James 1:10) of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye (Matthew 8:26; Matthew 14:31; Matthew 16:8; Luke 12:28) of little faith?KJRV — Matthew 6:30

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? (Luke 12:29) or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?KJRV — Matthew 6:31

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth (Matthew 6:8; Luke 12:30; Philippians 4:19) that ye have need of all these things.KJRV — Matthew 6:32

But seek (Luke 12:31) ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.KJRV — Matthew 6:33

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.KJRV — Matthew 6:34
