Matthew 9

2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven (Exodus 34:7; Psalms 32:1; Psalms 130:4; Matthew 6:12; Matthew 26:28; Ephesians 1:7; 1 John 1:9) thee.KJRV — Matthew 9:2
3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.KJRV — Matthew 9:3
4 And Jesus knowing (Psalms 139:2; Matthew 12:15; Matthew 12:25; Mark 12:15; Luke 5:22; Luke 6:8; Luke 9:47; Luke 11:17; Hebrews 4:13) their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?KJRV — Matthew 9:4
5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?KJRV — Matthew 9:5
6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive (Acts 5:31) sins,(then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.KJRV — Matthew 9:6
7 And he arose, and departed to his house.KJRV — Matthew 9:7
8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.KJRV — Matthew 9:8
9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, (Mark 2:14; Luke 5:27) sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.KJRV — Matthew 9:9
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans (Matthew 11:19; Mark 2:15; Luke 5:29) and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.KJRV — Matthew 9:10
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why (Mark 2:16; Luke 5:30; Luke 15:1) eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?KJRV — Matthew 9:11
12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, (Hosea 5:13; Hosea 6:1; Hosea 7:1) but they that are sick.KJRV — Matthew 9:12
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will (Proverbs 21:3; Hosea 6:6; Micah 6:6; Matthew 12:7) have mercy, and not sacrifice:Hosea 6:6 for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners (Matthew 18:11; Luke 19:10; Romans 5:8; 1 Timothy 1:15; 1 John 3:5) to repentance.KJRV — Matthew 9:13
14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast (Mark 2:18; Luke 5:33; Luke 18:12) oft, but thy disciples fast not?KJRV — Matthew 9:14
15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children (John 3:29) of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then (Acts 13:2; Acts 14:23; 1 Corinthians 7:5) shall they fast.KJRV — Matthew 9:15
16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.KJRV — Matthew 9:16
17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.KJRV — Matthew 9:17
18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, (Mark 5:22; Luke 8:41) and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.KJRV — Matthew 9:18
19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.KJRV — Matthew 9:19
20 And, behold, a woman, (Mark 5:25; Luke 8:43) which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:KJRV — Matthew 9:20
21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.KJRV — Matthew 9:21
22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith (Matthew 9:29; Mark 5:34; Mark 10:52; Luke 7:50; Luke 8:48; Luke 17:19; Luke 18:42) hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.KJRV — Matthew 9:22
23 And when Jesus came (Mark 5:38; Luke 8:51) into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels (2 Chronicles 35:25) and the people making a noise,KJRV — Matthew 9:23
24 He said unto them, Give place: (Acts 20:10) for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.KJRV — Matthew 9:24
25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.KJRV — Matthew 9:25
26 And the fame (Isaiah 52:13) hereof went abroad into all that land.KJRV — Matthew 9:26
27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son (Matthew 15:22; Matthew 20:30; Mark 10:47; Luke 18:38) of David, have mercy on us.KJRV — Matthew 9:27
28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.KJRV — Matthew 9:28
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith (Matthew 9:22; Mark 5:34; Mark 10:52; Luke 7:50; Luke 8:48; Luke 17:19; Luke 18:42) be it unto you.KJRV — Matthew 9:29
30 And their eyes (Psalms 146:8) were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See (Matthew 8:4; Mark 5:43; Luke 5:14) that no man know it.KJRV — Matthew 9:30
31 But they, when they were departed, spread (Mark 7:36) abroad his fame in all that country.KJRV — Matthew 9:31
32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb (Luke 11:14) man possessed with a devil.KJRV — Matthew 9:32
33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.KJRV — Matthew 9:33
34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince (2 Kings 1:2; Matthew 10:25; Matthew 12:24; Mark 3:22; Luke 11:15) of the devils.KJRV — Matthew 9:34
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching (Mark 6:6; Luke 13:22) in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing (Matthew 4:24; Mark 1:34) every sickness and every disease among the people.KJRV — Matthew 9:35
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion (Psalms 86:15; Psalms 111:4; Psalms 145:8; Matthew 14:14; Mark 1:41; Hebrews 2:17; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 5:2) on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.KJRV — Matthew 9:36
37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest (Luke 10:2; John 4:35) truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;KJRV — Matthew 9:37
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.KJRV — Matthew 9:38
