    6—Esangweni Letempile

    [Esi sahluko sisekwe kwiZenzo 3; 4:1-31]

    Abafundi bakaKristu babezaliswe kukuzibona bengafanelekanga, baza bathi, ngokuzithoba nangokuthandaza babuhlanganisa ubuthakathaka babo namandla aKhe, ukungazi kwabo nobulumko baKhe, ukungafaneleki kwabo nobulungisa bakhe, ubuhlwempu babo nobutyebi baKhe obungenakuze buphele. Bathi bakomelezwa baxhotyiswa, abalibazisa ukubheka phambili emsebenzini weNkosi.IZ 57.1

    Kancinane nje emva kokuhla kukaMoya Oyingcwele, kamsinyane emva kokuba bethandaze ngokuzimisela, uPetros noYohane benyuka baya etempileni besiya kukhonza, apho babona esangweni eliHle indoda esisiqhwala, imashumi mane eminyaka ubudala, ebomi bayo kususela ekuzalweni baye bubuhlungu ingumlwelwe. Le ndoda iseshweni, kwaye kukudala ilangazelela ukubona uYesu, ukuze iphiliswe; kodwa yayingenaluncedo, ikude kwindawo apho wayesebenza khona uGqirha omkhulu.     “Wayibamba ngesandla sokunene, wayivusa; zomelezeka ke kwalapho iinyawo zayo namaqatha ayo. Yesuka umtsi, yema, yahambahamba, yangena nabo etempileni, ihambahamba itsiba, imdumisa uThixo. Baza bonke abantu bayibona ihambahamba, idumisa uThixo; bayazi nokuyazi, ukuba ingulowa ebehlalela amalizo eMnyango oMhle wetempile, bathi qhiphu umbilini, bathi nqa yiloo nto ihlileyo kuyo.”IZ 58.2

    “Ke kaloku, sakubon’ ukuba isiqhwala esiphilisiweyo sibabambe ngesandla ooPetros noYohane, bonke abantu babalekela kubo evarandeni ekuthiwa yekaSolomon, beqhiphuke umbilini kakubi.” Bamangaliswa kuba abafundi benze ummangaliso ofana naleyo yayisenziwa nguYesu. Yiyo ke le ndoda, iminyaka emashumi mane isisiqhwala esingenalo uncedo, ngoku inovuyo ikwazi ukuyisebenzisa yonke imilenze yayo, ingenazintlungu, ivuya ngenxa yokukholwa kuYesu.IZ 58.3

    Bathi abafundi bakubona ukumangaliswa kwabantu, wabuza uPetros, “Yini na ukuba nimangaliswe yile nto? Kanjalo yini na ukuba nisijonge, ngathi simenze wahamba ngawethu amandla, nangokwethu ukuhlonela uThixo?” Wabaqinisekisa ukuba ukuphiliswa kubekho ngegama nangamandla kaYesu waseNazarete, athe uThixo wamvusa kwabafileyo. Kungokukholwa kwigama laKhe. Wathi umpostile, “lo nimbonayo, nimaziyo, limomelezile igama layo; lwathi ukholo olungayo lwamnika oku kuphila kupheleleyo phambi kwenu nonke.”IZ 59.1

    Abapostile bathetha ngokungafihlisi ngesono esikhulu samaYuda sokwala nokubulala iTshawe lobomi; kodwa babekulumkele ukubatyhafisa abo babephulaphule. “Ke nina namkhanyela Oyingcwele, oliLungisa,” watsho uPetros, “nacela ukuba ninikwe indoda engumbulali. Ke yona iMbangi yobomi nayibulala; awayivusayo uThixo kwabafileyo, esingamangqina ako oko thina.” “Nangoku, bazalwana, ndiyazi ukuba nenze ngokungazi, njengabo nabo abaphathi benu. Ke uThixo, izinto awazixela ngenxa engaphambili ngomlomo wabo bonke abaprofeti bakhe, zokuba uKristu eve ubunzima, uzizalisile.” Wavakalisa ukuba uMoya Oyingcwele uyababiza ukuba babuye ezonweni baguquke, wabaqinisekisa ukuba alikho ithemba losindiso ngaphandle kwenceba yaLowo bambethelelayo. Kungokukholwa kuYe kuphela ezinokuthi zixolelwe izono zabo.IZ 59.2

    “Guqukani ke ngoko, nibuye,” wadanduluka watsho, “ukuze zicinywe izono zenu; ngokokuze afike amathuba okuphumza, evela ebusweni beNkosi.”IZ 60.1

    “Nina ningoonyana babo abaprofeti, nabomnqophiso awanqophisana ngawo noobawo bethu uThixo, esithi kuAbraham, Yaye iya kusikeleleka embewini yakho yonke imizalwane yehlabathi.     Benjenjalo abafundi ukushumayela ukuvuka kukaKristu. Abaninzi kwabo babebaphulaphule babelindele obu bungqina, bathi bakubuva bakholwa. [Obu bungqina] bazisa ezingqondweni zabo amazwi ayethethwa nguKristu, baza bavuma bazibandakanya nabo bazamkelayo iindaba ezilungileyo.     Bathi abafundi besathetha nabo abantu, “kwafika ababingeleli nentloko yabalindi bendlu kaThixo kunye nabaSadusi. Babekhathazekile kuba aba bathunywa babefundisa abantu ngokuvuka . . . ekufeni.”IZ 60.4

    Emva kokuvuka kukaKristu, ababingeleli basasaza kuyo yonke indawo, kude nakufuphi, udaba oluthi umzimba kaKristu wabiwa ngabafundi ngexesha abalindi bamaRoma belele. Akumangalisi,ke ngoko, ukungaxoli kwabo xa besiva uPetros noYohane beshumayela uvuko lwaLowo babembulele. Bakhubeka ngendlela eyodwa abaSadusi.     Ngokuzinikela kwazo kumsebenzi wokuchasa uKristu, sonke isenzo sokuxhathisa saba yinkuthazo eyongeziweyo kubabingeleli eyenza ukuba nabo balandele elo khondo. Iinkani zabo zaya ziqina ngokuqina. Kwakungekuba babengenakhoukuvuma; babenakho, kodwa babengafuni. Kwakungekuko kuphela kuba benetyala, ngoko befanele ukufa; kungaphelelanga ekubeni bebulele uNyana kaThixo, nto leyo eyenza ukuba basuswe elusindisweni; kwakungenxa yokuba bazixhobisa ngokumchasa uThixo. Bathi rhoqo bekwala ukukhanya, bakufuthanisela ukugwetywa kwabo nguMoya. Impembelelo elawula abantwana bokungathobeli yasebenza ngaphakathi kwabo, ibakhokelela ekubaphatheni kakubi abo bantu uThixo wayesebenza ngabo. Yonke imihla, ekwaleni kwazo ukuguquka, iinkokeli zamaYuda zaziluhlaziya uvukelo lwazo, zilungiselela ukuvuna oko zikuhlwayeleyo.IZ 61.2

    Ingqumbo kaThixo ayikhankanywa kubhekiswa kuboni abangaguqukanga ngenxa yezono abaya bazenza kodwa kuba bathe bakubizwa ukuba baguquke, bakhetha ukuqhubeka nokuxhathisa, bephinda izono zexesha elidlulileyo, bedelela ukukhanya abakunikwayo. Ukuba iinkokeli zobuYuda zaziziyekele kumandla azigwebayo kaMoya Oyingcwele, ngezazixolelwe; kodwa zazizimisele ukunganikezeli. Ngokunjalo, umoni ngokuqhubeka nokulandula, uzibeka apho uMoya Oyingcwele angenakho ukuba nempembelelo kuye.IZ 62.1

    Ngemini elandela eyokuphiliswa kwesiqhwala, u-Anase noKayafa, bezinye izikhulu zetempile, bahlanganela ityala, aza amabanjwa aziswa phambi kwabo. Kanye kwelo gumbi, naphambi kwaloo madoda kanye, uPetros wayikhanyela iNkosi yakhe ngokuzintloni. Ngoku wayenethuba lokuhlangula ubugwala bakhe.IZ 62.2

    Abo babekho, beyikhumbula indima eyadlalwa nguPetros etyaleni leNkosi yakhe, baziqhatha ngokucinga ukuba ngoku uza kothuswa kukoyikiswa ngokuvalelwa entolongweni okanye ngokufa. UPetros, owamkhanyelayo uKristu ngexesha kanye awayedinga ngalo [ukuxhaswa], wayefutha ezithembile [ngoko], engafani konke nalo Petros owayeziswe phambi kweQumrhu lolawulo, iSanhedrin, ukuba aphendule imibuzo. Emva kokuba wayewile, wabuya waguquka. Wayengasenalo ikratshi nokuzigwagwisa, kodwa elulamile engenako ukuzithemba. Wayezaliswe nguMoya Oyingcwele, wathi, ngoncedo lwala mandla, wagqiba ekubeni alisuse ibala lokreqo lwakhe ngokulizukisa igama awayekhe walikhanyela.IZ 63.1

    Ukuza kuthi ga ngoku, ababingeleli babekuphepha ukukhankanya ukubethelelwa okanye ukuvuka kukaYesu. Kuthe ngoku, ekuzalisekiseni injongo yabo, banyanzeleka ukuba babuze kubatyholwa ukuba ukuphiliswa kwendoda engumlwelwe kwenzeke njani na. “Le nto nina niyenze ngamandla mani na, nangagama lini na?” Babuza.IZ 63.2

    Ngesibindi esingcwele nangamandla kaMoya, waphendula uPetros engenaloyiko wathi: “Makwazeke kuni nonke, nakubo bonke abantu bakwaIsrayeli, ukuba kusegameni likaYesu Kristu waseNazarete, enambethelelayo emnqamlezweni nina, athe uThixo wamvusa kwabafileyo; kungaye lowo, ukuba lo mntu eme apha phambi kwenu ephilile. Nguye lo ilitye elenziwa into engento nini bakhi, elisuke laba yintloko yembombo. Kananjalo usindiso alukho kuwumbi; kuba akukho gama limbi phantsi kwezulu, linikiweyo phakathi kwabantu, esimele ukusindiswa ngalo.”IZ 63.3

Ngenxa yoko ndithi kuni, Ubukumkani bukaThixo buya kususwa kuni, bunikwe uhlanga oluzivelisayo iziqhamo zabo. Kanjalo lowo uwe phezu kweli litye uya kutyumka, ke lowo lithe lamwela liya kumcola.” Mateyu 22:42-44.IZ 64.1

    Bakuba ababingeleli bephulaphule amazwi abapostile anokungoyiki, “babaqonda ukuba babenaye uYesu.”IZ 64.2

    Xa kuthethwa ngabafundi emva kokwenziwa kumila kumbi kukaKristu, kubhalwe kwathiwa, ekupheleni kwaloo mbono umangalisayo “ababona mntu, yanguYesu yedwa.” U-“Yesu yedwa,” kula mazwi kukho imfihlelo yobomi namandla aphawula imbali yebandla lokuqala. Ukuva kwabafundi okokuqala amazwi kaKristu, bakuva ukumdinga kwabo. Bamfuna, bamfumana, bamlandela. BabenaYe etempileni, etafileni, ecaleni lentaba, nasemasimini. Babenjengabantwana abangabafundi abanotitshala wabo, yonke imihla besamkela kuYe izifundo zenyaniso engunaphakade.IZ 64.3

    Emva kokunyuka koMsindisi, ukuvakala kobukho bobuthixo, buzele luthando nokukhanya, kwakusahleli kubo [abafundi]. Yayibubukho besiqu. UYesu, uMsindisi owayehamba, wathetha, wathandaza kunye nabo, wabathethela ithemba nentuthuzelo ezintliziyweni zabo, wathi, ilizwi loxolo lisesemilebeni yaKhe, wasuswa kubo wasiwa ezulwini. Ngexesha inqwelo yeengelosi imamkela, amazwi aKhe afika kubo, “Niyabona, mna ndinani yonke imihla, kude kube sekuphelisweni kwephakade.” Mateyu 28:20. Wayenyukele ezulwini ekwimo yomntu. Babesazi ukuba uphambi kwetrone kaThixo, esenguMhlobo noMsindisi wabo; nokuba iimfesane zaKhe aziguqukanga; nokuba uya kuhlala ngonaphakade ebalelwa kuluntu oluhluphekileyo. Babesazi ukuba ubeka phambi kukaThixo amandla egazi laKhe, ebonisa izandla neenyawo ezisisikhumbuzo sexabiso awalihlawulayo ngabathengwa baKhe; yaza le ngcamango yabomeleza ukuba bakunyamezele ukungcikivwa ngenxa yaKhe. Ubunye babo kunye naye babuqinile ngoku kunaxa waye kunye nabo ubuqu. Ukukhanya nothando namandla kaKristu ohleli ngaphakathi, konke kwakhanya ngabo, kangangokuba bathi abantu, bakukhangela, bamangaliswa.IZ 65.1

    UKristu wabeka itywina kumazwi awathethwa nguPetros ekumkhuseleni [uKristu]. Kufuphi ecaleni lomfundi, njengengqina eliqinisekileyo, kwakumi indoda yayiphiliswe ngommangaliso. Imbonakalo yale ndoda eyaye kwiiyure ezimbalwa ngaphambi koko iyeyesiqhwala esinganakuzinceda, kodwa ngoku seyibuyiselwe empilweni epheleleyo, yongeza kwisisindo sobungqina bamazwi kaPetros. Babengakwazi ukuphikisana nentetho kaPetros, kodwa, sekunjalo, bazimisela ukukunqanda ukufundisa kwabafundi.IZ 65.2

    Ummangaliso kaKristu owaba sisikhonkwane sokugqibela — ukuvuswa kukaLazaro — wakuvala tu ukuzimisela kwababingeleli ukumcima elizweni uYesu nemisebenzi yaKhe emangalisayo, izinto ezaziyitshabalalisa ngokukhawuleza impembelelo yabo ebantwini. Babembethelele; kodwa ngoku bajongene nobungqina obuphathekayo bokuba abakuphelisanga ukwenziwa kwemimangaliso egameni laKhe, kwanokuvakaliswa kwenyaniso awayifundisayo. Ukuphiliswa kwesiqhwala nokushumayela kwabapostile kwakuse kuzalise iYerusalem ngemincili.IZ 66.1

    Ukuze babe nokufihla ukubhideka kwabo, ababingeleli nabaphathi bayalela ukuba abapostile bakhe basuswe, ukuze bakwazi ukufakana imilomo bebodwa. Bavumelana bebonke ukuba akungekhe kuncede nto ukukhanyela ukuba la ndoda yaphiliswa. Babe nokuvuya ukuba babe nokuwusitha ummangaliso lowo ngobuxoki; kodwa yayingakwazi ukwenzeka loo nto, kuba yayenziwe ilanga lihlabe umhlaba, phambi kwentlaninge yabantu, yaye seyisaziwa ngamawaka. Babenayo into ethi, umsebenzi wabafundi kunyanzelekile ukuba upheliswe, kungenjalo uYesu uya kuba nabalandeli abaninzi. Elona hlazo labo laliza kulandela, kuba babe bekwa ityala lokubulala uNyana kaThixo.IZ 66.2

    Ababingeleli bathi, nangona bengayekanga ukulangazelela ukubatshabalalisa abafundi, abakwazi ukwenza okungaphaya kokuboyikisa ngokubathembisa ngesona siqatha isohlwayo ukuba baqhubeka nokuthetha nokusebenza egameni likaYesu. Bakuba bebabizele kwakhona phambi kweSanhedrin, babayalela ukuba bangabuye bathethe okanye bafundise egameni likaYesu. Kulapho ke, uPetros noYohane baphendula bathi, “Yahlulani nina, ukuba bubulungisa na emehlweni kaThixo ukuva nina, kunokuva uThixo; kuba singenako thina ukuthi singathethi izinto esazibonayo, esazivayo.”[66]IZ 66.3

    Babenokuvuya kakhulu ababingeleli ukuba babe nokuwohlwaya la madoda ngenxa yokunyaniseka okungagungqiyo kubizo lwawo olungcwele, kodwa babesoyika abantu; “ngokuba bonke babemzukisa uThixo ngoko kwakuhlile.” Ngenxa yako konke oko, abapostile bakhululwa phantsi kwezoyikiso nemiqathango engqongqo.IZ 67.1

    Ngeli xesha uPetros noYohane babe ngamabanjwa, abanye abafundi, ngokwazi ububi bamaYuda, babathandazela bengayeki abazalwana babo, benoloyiko hleze inkohlakalo eyabonakaliswa kuKristu ingaphindwa. Ngako nje ukuba abapostile bakhululwe, bakhangela abanye abafundi babanika ingxelo ngokuhlolwa kwabo. Lwaba lukhulu uvuyo lwamakholwa. “Baphakamisa izwi kuThixo ngamxhelo mnye, bathi, Mnini-nto-zonke nomhlaba nolwandle, neento zonke ezikwezo nto; owathi ngomlomo wakho, Zazibhavumelani na iintlanga, zaza izizwe zacamanga izinto ezingento? Bazimisa ookumkani behlabathi, nabaphathi bahlanganisana ndawonye ngokuyichasa iNkosi, naye uKristu wayo. Kuba, inyaniso, ngaye uMkhonzi wakho Oyingcwele onguYesu, owamthambisayo, kwahlanganisana uHerode, kwanoPontiyo Pilato, ndawonye neentlanga nabantu bakwaIsrayeli, ukuba benze izinto zonke ezamiswayo ngenxa engaphambili sisandla sakho nalicebo lakho, ukuba zibekho.IZ 67.2

    “Okwangoku ke, Nkosi, zikhangele izisongelo zabo, ubanike abakhonzi bakho ukuba balithethe ilizwi lakho ngako konke ukungafihlisi, ekusoluleni isandla sakho ukuba uphilise, nokuba kubekho imiqondiso nezimanga ngegama loMkhonzi wakho Oyingcwele, uYesu.”IZ 67.3

    Abafundibathandazela ukuba banikwe amandla amakhulu emsebenzini wabo wokulungiselela; kuba babebona ukuba baza kuhlangana nenkcaso ekwanje ngaleyo wayifumanayo uKristu eselapha emhlabeni. Ithe imithandazo yabo isenyuka ngokholo isiya ezulwini, yafika impendulo. Indawo ababe kuyo yazanyazanyiswa, baza bathiwa jize ngokutsha ngoMoya Oyingcwele. Iintliziyo zabo zazaliswa sisibindi, baphinda baphuma baya kuvakalisa ilizwi likaThixo eYerusalem. “Baya abapostile bekungqinela ngamandla amakhulu ukuvuka kweNkosi uYesu,” waza uThixo wayisikelela imizamo yabo ngendlela emangalisayo.IZ 67.4

    Umthetho-siseko abathi bema kuwo abafundi ngaphandle koloyiko xa, ekuphenduleni kumyalelo wokuba bangaphindi bathethe ngegama likaYesu, bathi, “Ukuba bubulungisa na emehlweni kaThixo ukuva nina, kunokuva uThixo, yahlulani nina,” yayikwanguwo lo abo bazimanya nedabi lendaba ezilungileyo bazama ukuwubamba ngexesha loHlaziyo.     Asilindekanga ukuba siwadele amagunya. Amazwi ethu, nokuba ayathethwa okanye ayabhalwa, kufuneka aqatshelisiswe kakuhle, hleze sizifake kwingxelo yabantu abathetha ngokuchasene nomthetho nocwangco. Akufuneki senze okanye sithethe nantoni na eya kuthi, ngokungafanelekanga, iyivale indlela yethu. Simele ukubheka phambili egameni likaKristu, sivakalisa iinyaniso azinikele kuthi. Ukuba siyalelwa ngabantu ukuba siwenze lo msebenzi, njengabapostile, sesingathi, “Yahlulani nina, ukuba bubulungisa na emehlweni kaThixo ukuva nina, kunokuva uThixo; kuba singenako thina ukuthi singathethi izinto esazibonayo, esazivayo.”IZ 69.1
