A Health Journal Started

The first of August there was also begun by the managers the publication of a monthly health journal, sixteen pages with cover, in magazine form. This was called the Health Reformer. This journal is still continued, under the name Good Health, and is now the leading health magazine of the world. This journal not only treated on health and temperance principles, but was also a means of advertising the health institution, which was formally opened for patients and boarders on the 5th of September, 1866. So here was the institution, purchased, equipped, and in running order less than four months from the time the subject was first mentioned to our people; and the sum of $11,000 was subscribed to stock, a large proportion of which was already paid.GSAM 360.4
