INSTRUCTIONS TO AGENTS AND DEPOSITORIES IN FOREIGN FIELDS

The following resolutions relating to how our agents and depositories in foreign fields should conduct their business in the future, were adopted:—GCB January 1, 1896, page 650.5

To establish uniformity in dealing with agents and depositories in foreign fields, we would make the following recommendations, —GCB January 1, 1896, page 650.6

(a) That all accounts and business be carried on direct with the Association.GCB January 1, 1896, page 650.7

(b) That publications be billed to agents and depositories by the publishing houses direct, at sixty per cent. off American prices, on books and all publications on which the canvasser receives fifty per cent., and in all other cases, at ten per cent. above the price to canvasser, a duplicate bill being sent to the General Conference Association, with a credit memorandum for the difference between the bill and the manufacturers’ cost.GCB January 1, 1896, page 650.8

(c) That the freight be paid by the General Conference Association to the port of entry nearest the agent or depository, expenses of entry, customs, etc., being paid by the agent or depository.GCB January 1, 1896, page 650.9

(d) That the agents and depositories report to the General Conference Association, except in cases where special provisions have been made.GCB January 1, 1896, page 650.10
