    Umthetho kaThixo ungcwele njengoko uThixo ngokwaKhe anjalo. Usisityhilelo sentando yaKhe, umbhalo wesimilo saKhe, isiboniso sothando olungcwele nobulumko obungcwele. USathana wayengayi kuhlala ebalandela ngezilingo ezingapheliyo; koko wayenokufikelela kubo kuphela ngomthi owalelweyo. Ukuba babezame ukuphanda ngemvelo yaso (isihendo), ngebabe bubonile ububi baso. Babe yaliwe ukuba baziqaphelisise izilumkiso awazithumelayo uThixo nokuba baneliswe yimfundiso awabona kufanelekile ukuba abanike.ANa 53.3

    Ukuze awufeze ungaqondakalanga umsebenzi wakhe, uSathana wakhetha ukusebenzisa, njengejelo lakhe, inyoka—ikumila kumbi ngendlela elungiselelwe injongo yokukhohlisa. Ngelo xesha inyoka yayisesona sidalwa silumkileyo nesona sihle kwezinye emhlabeni. Wathi akubona ukuba uyedwa, waziva enamanwele ngathi kukho ingozi, kodwa wabuya walususa olo loyiko, esithi unobulumko kunye namandla awaneleyo ukuba angabuqonda ububi amelane nabo. Uthe engasasicingi isilumkiso sengelosi, wazibona eqwalasele ngomdla ohlangene nokuthanda kumthi owalelweyo. Isiqhamo sasisihle, wazibuza ukuba kutheni uThixo ebavimba nje. Yayilithuba lomhendi elo. Waba ngathi uyayibona indlela esebenza ngayo ingqondo yakhe, wathi kuye, “Utshilo na okunene uThixo ukuthi, Ze ningadli kuyo yonke imithi yomyezo?” UEva wamangaliswa, wothuka kuba engathi uva isandi seengcinga zakhe.     Kumbuzo obambisayo womhendi, waphendula wathi: “Eziqhameni zemithi yomyezo singadla, ke eziqhameni zomthi osemyezweni phakathi, uthe uThixo, Ze ningadli kuzo; ze ningazichukumisi, hleze nife. Yathi inyoka kumfazi, Anisayi kufa: kuba esazi uThixo ukuba, mhlana nithe nadla kuzo, oqabuka amehlo enu, nibe njengoThixo, nazi okulungileyo nokubi.”ANa 54.2

    Ngokutya kulo mthi, ngokutsho kwakhe, baya kufikelela kumgangatho ophakame ngaphezulu, bangene kumhlaba obanzi wokwazi ngakumbi.     UEva wawakholelwa ngokwenene amazwi kaSathana, kodwa ukukholwa kwakhe akuzange kumsindise kwisohlwayo sesono. Akazange awakholelwe amazwi kaThixo, kwaza oku kwakhokelela ekuweni kwakhe. Emgwebeni, abantu abayi kugwetywa kuba bekholelwe ubuxoki besezingqondweni, kodwa kuba bengayikholelwanga inyaniso, kuba batyeshele ithuba lokuyifunda ukuba iyintoni inyaniso. Zonke izifundo athe uThixo wenza ukuba zibhalwe elizwini laKhe zezokulumkisa nokufundisa. Zinikwe ukuze zisisindise kwinkohliso. Ukuzityeshela kuya kuba nesiphumo sentshabalalo kuthi. Nayiphina into echasa ilizwi likaThixo, sinokuqiniseka ukuba iphuma kuSathana.ANa 55.3

    Inyokayakhakwisiqhamosomthi owalelweyo yabeka ezandleni zikaEva owayethingaza. Yaya yamkhumbuza amazwi akhe, ukuba uThixo wabalela ukuba bawuchukumise, hleze bafe. Waya “wabona ukuba umthi ulungele ukudliwa, nokuba uyakhanukeka emehlweni, ingumthi onqwenelekela ukuqiqisa, wathabatha esiqhameni zawo, wadla.” Wawunencasa ekholisayo, waza ngexesha atyayo, waziva enodlamko emandleni, wazicingela ukuba ungena kumgangatho ongasentla kubukho bakhe. Wasuka wathi, ngaphandle kokoyika, wakha watya. Ngoku, ewaphule umthetho, waba ngumthunywa kaSathana ekusebenzeleni ukutshabalala komyeni wakhe. Wathi ekwimo engaqhelekanga nodlamko olungeyiyo imvelo, izandla zizele sisiqhamo esalelweyo, wafuna ukuba abekho, wakuchaza konke okwenzekayo.ANa 56.1

    Kwabakho imbonakalo yosizi ebusweni buka-Adam. Wakhangeleka ekhwankqisiwe othukile. Ukuphendula amazwi ka-Eva, wathi, inokuba lutshaba ababelunyukiswe ngalo olo; kwaye ngokwesigwebo sezulu, umelwe ukuba afe. Ukuphendula, (uEva) wathi makatye, esitsho ephinda amazwi enyoka, athi abasayi kufa ngokuqinisekileyo. Wazathuza ngelithi oku kunokuba yinyaniso, kuba kwakungekho nto ayivayo ngathi uThixo akanelisekanga, kodwa, endaweni yoko, wayesiva umfutho omnandi wodlamko, ovuselela yonke into ayiyo ebomini, efana naleyo, ngokucinga kwakhe, ivuselela izithunywa zezulu.ANa 56.2

    UAdam waqonda ukuba iqabane lakhe laphule umyalelo kaThixo, latyeshela isithintelo ekuphela kwaso ukuba kuvavanywe ukunyaniseka kwabo nothando lwabo. Kwabakho idabi elikhulu engqondweni yakhe. Wakukhalela ukumyekela kwakhe uEva ukuba aye mgama kuye. Kwakusele kwenzekile ke oko kwenzekayo; kufuneka ahlulwe kulowo kwakuluvuyo kuye ukuba kunye naye. Angayivumela njani loo nto? UAdam wayekonwabele ukuba nobudlelane noThixo nezithunywa ezingcwele. Wayebubuka ubuqaqawuli boMdali. Wayesiqonda isiphelo esibekelwe uhlanga loluntu ukuba luye lwahlala lunyanisekile kuThixo. Zonke ezi ntsikelelo zazilahlekile, ngokubona kwakhe, ngenxa yokoyika kwakhe ukulahlekwa seso sipho sinye, esixabiseke ukuzidlula zonke ezinye emehlweni akhe. Uthando, umbulelo, ukunyaniseka kuMdali-konke kwakusitheliswe luthando lwakhe kuEva. Wayeyinxalenye yesiqu sakhe, engakwazi ukuyinyamezela ingcinga yokwahlukana. Akazange aqonde ukuba, kwaeli Gunya lingenaMda elamdalayo eluthulini lomhlaba, ekwimo ephilayo, entle, lathi, ngothando, lamnika iqabane, linokubeka omnye endaweni yakhe. Wasuka wagqiba kwelokuba abelane naye kwingxaki yakhe; ukuba uyafa, afe kunye naye. Ngaphezu koko, xa ezicingela, akunakwenzeka na ukuba kuthi kanti aynyaniso amazwi enyoka enobulumko? UEva wayephambi kwakhe, esemhle, esakhangeleka emsulwa njengaphambi kwesi senzo sokungathobeli. Wabonisa [uEva] ukuba nothando kuye kunangaphambili. Umoya, owawusoloko upholise, uhambelana nobushushu, wangathi unenkwankca kwisibini esinobutyala. Uthando noxolo ababenalo, lwalumkile, endaweni yalo baziva benesono, besoyika ixesha elizayo, nobuze bomphefumlo. Ingubo yokukhanya eyayibagubungele, yathi shwaka, baza endaweni yayo bazama ukuzenzela into yokuzigquma; kuba bebengenako ukuthi benganxibanga, bahlangane neliso likaThixo nezithunywa ezingcwele.ANa 57.1

    USathana wayivuyela impumelelo yakhe. Umfazi wayemhende ukuze angaluthembi uthando lukaThixo, abuthandabuze ubulumko baKhe, nokuba awaphule umthetho waKhe, waza ngaye, wamoyisa uAdam.ANa 57.3

    Noko kunjalo, uMniki-mthetho omkhulu wayesondele ekwaziseni uAdam noEva iziphumo zokwaphula kwabo umthetho. Ubungcwele bezulu babonakaliswa emyezweni. Kubumsulwa nasebungcweleni babo, babekuvuyela ukwamkela ukufika koMdali wabo, kodwa ngoku babaleka besoyika, bazama ukuzifihla entshinyeleni yesitiya. “UYehova uThixo wambiza uAdam, wathi kuye, Uphi na? Wathi yena, Ndive isandi sakho emyezweni, ndasuka ndoyika, ngokuba ndihamba ze; ndazimela. Wathi, Uxelelwe ngubani na, Udlile na kuwo umthi, endakuwisela umthetho ngawo, ndathi, Uze ungadli kuwo?”ANa 57.4

    UAdam wayengakwazi ukusiphika okanye ukusithethelela isono sakhe; kodwa endaweni yokubonisa inguquko, wasuka wazama ukutyhola umfazi wakhe, ngokwenza oko, abe utyhola uThixo ngokwaKhe: “Umfazi owandinikayo ukuba abe nam, nguye ondinikileyo kuwo umthi, ndadla ke.” Lowo wathi, ngokuthanda uEva, wakhetha ngabom ukuncama ukukholisa uThixo, ikhaya lakhe laseParadesi, nobomi obungunaphakade bovuyo, ngoku, emva kokuwa kwakhe, uzama ukwenza ukuba iqabane lakhe, noMdali ngokwaKhe, babe netyala ngokwaphula umthetho. Mabi anjalo ke amandla esono.ANa 57.5

    Wathi akubuzwa umfazi, “Yintoni na le uyenzileyo?” waphendula wathi, “Inyoka indilukuhlile, ndadla ke.” “Wawuyikalele ntoni inyoka? Kwakutheni ukuze uyiyeke ingene e-Eden?” — yimibuzo le ethethwa kukuzithethelela kwakhe ngesono sakhe. Ngokufanayo noAdam, wammangalela uThixo ngomthwalo wokuwa kwabo. Umoya wokuzithethelela waphuma kuyise wobuxoki; kwangenwa kuko ngabazali bethu bokuqala ngako nje ukuba baziyekele kwimpembelelo kaSathana, kwaza kwabonakalaliswa ngabo bonke oonyana neentombi zika-Adam. Endaweni yokuvuma izono ngokuzithoba, bazama ukuzikhusela ngokuphosa isityholo phezu kwabanye, phezu kwemeko, okanye phezu kukaThixo-bade benze neentsikelelo ezi zaKhe ukuba zibe ngunobangela wokumsola.ANa 58.1

    UYehova wawisa isigwebo phezu kwenyoka: “Ngokuba uyenzile le nto, uqalekisiwe wena ngaphezu kwezinto zonke ezizitho zine, neento zonke eziphilileyo zasendle; uya kuhamba ngesisu, udle uthuli, yonke imihla yobomi bakho.” Kususela ukuba yasetyenziswa nguSathana ukuba ibe lijelo, inyoka yaba nesabelo kwizibetho zogwebo lwezulu. Ukusuka kwesona sidalwa sihle nesithandekayo emhlabeni, sasiza kuba sesona siphantsi nesizondwayo kunazo zonke ezinye, soyikwe sithiywe ngabantu nezilwanyana. Amazwi alandelayo abhekiswa kuyo inyoka aya ngqo kuSathana ubuqu, esalatha phambili ekoyisweni kwakhe kokugqibela, nokutshatyalaliswa kwakhe: “Ndiya kumisa ubutshaba phakathi kwakho nomfazi, naphakathi kwembewu yakho nembewu yakhe; yona iya kukutyumza intloko, wena uya kuyityumza isithende.”ANa 58.2

    UEva waxelelwa ngosizi nentlungu eya kuba sisabelo sakhe ukususela ngoko. Wathi iYehova, “Inkanuko yakho ibe sendodeni yakho, ikulawule yona.” Ekkudalweni, uThixo wamenza walingana noAdam. Ukuba babehleli bemthobela uThixo-ngokuhambelana nomthetho waKhe wothando-babeya kuhlala bevumelana omnye nomnye; kodwa isono sazisa ukungavisisani, ngoku umanyano lwabo lwaluya kugcinwa ngokuvumelana kuze kugcinwe kuphela ngokuthi omnye athobele omnye. UEva wayengowokuqala ekwaphuleni umthetho; wawa kwisihendo sokwahlukana neqabene lakhe, ngokuchasene nomyalelo wezulu. Ukuba imithetho-siseko ebekwe emthethweni kaThixo yayigciniwe luhlanga oluwileyo, esi sigwebo, nangona sikhula phantsi kweziphumo zesono, sasiza kuba yintsikelelo kubo; kodwa ukukuphatha kakubi kwendoda ukuba phezulu kwayo, amaxesha amaninzi, kumenze umfazi wanobukrakra obukhulu, kwabenza bangumthwalo ubomi bakhe.ANa 58.3

    UEva wayonwabe ngokupheleleyo ecaleni komyeni wakhe kwikhaya lakhe iEden; kodwa, njengooEva abangazinzanga bale mihla, waqhathwa ngethemba lokungena kwinqanaba elingaphezulu kunelo uThixo wayembekele lona. Ngokuzama ukunyuka ngaphezulu kwesikhundla sakhe semvelo, wawa kude ezantsi kuso. Sisiphumo esinjalo abafikelela kuso abangenamdla wokwenza ngovuyo imisebenzi yabo yasebomini ngokwecebo likaThixo. Ekuzameni kwabo ukufikelela kwizikhundla angabalungisanga ukuba bazifanele, abaninzi bayishiya ize indawo abebeya kuba yintsikelelo kuyo. Kulangazelelo lwabo lokufikelela kwinqanaba eliphezulu, abaninzi bancame isidima esisiso sobufazi, nokundiliseka kwesimilo, bashiya ungenziwanga umsebenzi abawubekelwe liZulu.ANa 59.1

    Wathi uYehova kuAdam: “Ngokuba uphulaphule izwi lomkakho, wadla kuwo umthi endakuwisela umthetho ngawo, ndathi, Uze ungadli kuwo, uqalekisiwe umhlaba ngenxa yakho; uya kudla kuwo ubulaleka, yonke imihla yobomi bakho. Kungoko uYehova, ngobukhulu benceba yaKhe, wayeya kubabonisa abantu ubungcwele bomthetho waKhe, abakhokele, ngawabo amava, ukuba bayibone ingozi yokuwubeka bucala, nokuba kukancinane kangakanani. Ubomi bokusebenza nzima, nokukhathala okwakuza kuba sisabelo somntu, wanikezwa ngothando. Luqeqesho okwabonakala ukuba lufanelekile ngenxa yesono, ukuze lubeke umlindi ekuyekelweni kwelithe nemizwa, nokukhulisa imikhwa yokuzilawula. KuEva yakhangeleka iyinto encinane ukungamthobeli uThixo ngokungcamla isiqhamo somthi owalelweyo, nokuhenda umyeni wakhe ukuba naye one; kodwa isono sabo savula umsinga wentlekele emhlabeni. Ngubani onokwazi ngomzuzu wokulingwa, iziphumo ezoyikekayo ezinokuzalwa linyathelo elinye elingalunganga?ANa 61.1

    Abaninzi abafundisa ukuba umthetho kaThixo awumbopheleli umntu, bakhuthaza ukuba akanako ukuyithobela imiyalelo yawo. Ukuba oku bekuyinyaniso, kwakutheni ukuze uAdam ohlwaywe ngokugqitha kwakhe umthetho? Isono sabazali bethu bokuqala sazisa ubutyala nosizi emhlabeni, kwaye, ukuba bekungengako ukulunga nenceba kaThixo, lonke uhlanga ngelwangena kumhadi wokuncama ongenathemba. Makungabikho namnye ozikhohlisayo. “Umvuzo wesono kukufa.” Roma 6:23. Umthetho kaThixo awunako ukwaphulwa kungabikho tyala ngoku kwanjengoko kwakunjalo kuyise woluntu.ANa 61.2

    Emva kwesono sabo, uAdam noEva babengasayi kuqhubeka behlala e-Eden. Bazama ukucenga kangangoko ukuba bahlale ekhayeni labo lobumsulwa novuyo. Bavuma ukuba babephulukene nalo lonke ilungelo lokuba kwelo khaya lolonwabo, kodwa bathembisa ukuba kwixesha elizayo baya kumnika intobeko engqongqo uThixo. Baya baxelelwa ukuba imvelo yabo yehla ngenxa yesono; bawacuthile amandla abo okumelana nobubi, bamvulela indlela uSathana ukuba angene ngokulula kubo. Bathi bemsulwa baziyekela kwisihendo; ngoku, bekwimo yobutyala ababuqondayo, aya kucutheka mpela amandla okugcina isidima sabo.ANa 61.3

    Ngokuzithoba nosizi olungathethekiyo, bathi ndlelantle kwikhaya labo elihle baphuma baya kuhlala emhlabeni, apho kwakuhleli isiqalekiso sesono. Umoya, owawupholile ngaphambili, uhambelana nobushushu, ngoku waba nokutshintsha kakhulu, waza uYehova, ngenceba, wabenzela iingubo ngezikhumba ukuze zibakhusele ekuqatseleni kobushushu nokubanda.ANa 61.4

    Bathi bakubona intyatyambo igoba (ibuna) negqabi lisiwa, iimpawu zokuqala zokonakala, uAdam neqabane lakhe bakhala kakhulu ngakumbi kunokuba besenza ngoku abantu ukulilela ababo abafileyo. Ukufa kweentyatyambo ezibuthakathaka nezi-ethe-ethe kwaba ngunobangela wentlungu ngokwenene; yathi imithi emihle yakuwisa amagqabi ayo, umbono wazisa ngokucacileyo engqondweni inyaniso yokuba ukufa kusisabelo sayo yonke into ephilayo.ANa 62.1

    Umyezo wase-Eden wahlala ixesha elide emhlabeni emva kokuba umntu ethe wangumlahlelwa ngaphandle kwiindlela zawo ezimyoli. Uhlanga oluwileyo lwalungasavunyelwe ukuba lulibone ikhaya lobumsulwa, ukungena khona kuthintelwe ziingelosi. Kwisango leParadesi elaliqatshelwe yikherubhi, kwatyhileka ubuqaqawuli bezulu. Babesiza apho uAdam nabantwana bakhe ukuba banqule uThixo. Apha, bazihlaziya izibhambathiso zabo zokuthobela loo mthetho, ukwaphulwa kwawo okwabenza ukuba bagxothwe e-Eden. Wakuba umsinga wobugwenxa uligqibe lonke ilizwe, inkohlakalo yabantu eyakhokelela kwintshabalalo ngonogumbe wamanzi, isandla esasiyityalile iEden, sayisusa emhlabeni.
