    19—Ukubuyela EKanan

    Akuwela iYordan, “wafika uYakobi enoxolo emzini wakwaShekem, osezweni lakwaKanan.” Genesis 33:18.     Ukuhlala kukaYakobi noonyana bakhe kwaShekem kwaphela ngengxabano kunye nokuphalala kwegazi. Enye intombi yasendlwini yakhe yahlaziswa yenziwa lusizi, kwaye kukho abanakwabo ababini abafumaneka benetyala lokubulala, saza isixeko sonke sangenelwa yintshabalalo nokuxhelana, kuphindezelwa isenzo solwaphulo- mthetho somfana owangxama kakhulu.     UYakobi weva ngathi kukho unobangela wokuhlaziswa okukhulu. Inkohlakalo nobuxoki babonakala kwisimilo soonyana bakhe. Kwakukho oothixo bobuxoki emzini, kwaye ukunqulwa kwezithixo kuthabathe unyawo nakweyakhe indlu. Ukuba uThixo angabaphatha njengoko bekufanele, ebengayi kubayekela kwimpindezelo yezizwe ezibangqongileyo na?ANa 205.2

    Wathi ngexesha uYakobi wayethobe phantsi ngenxa yokukhathazeka, uYehova wamyalela ukuba ahambe aye ngasezantsi eBheteli. Ingcinga yale ndawo ayizange yanele ukulikhumbuza inyange kuphela ngombono walo weengelosi nezithembiso zenceba kaThixo, kodwa nangesifungo elasenzayo apho, sokuba uYehova uya kuba nguThixo walo.     Ngemvakalelo enzulu, uYakobi waliphinda ibali lotyelelo lwakhe lokuqala eBheteli, xa wayeshiye intente kayise esisibhadubhadu esililolo, ebalekela ukusindisa ubomi bakhe, nendlela uYehova awaziveza ngayo kuye embonweni wasebusuku.     UThixo wenza ukuba kubekho uloyiko kubemi belizwe, kangangokuba abazange bazame ukukuphindezela ukubulawa kwaseShekem. Abahambi bafika eBheteli bengaphathekanga kakubi. Apha waphinda uYehova wabonakala kuYakobi wahlaziya kuye umnqophiso wesithembiso. “UYakobi wamisa isimiso kuloo ndawo abethethe naye kuyo, isimiso samatye.”ANa 206.1

    EBheteli, uYakobi wabizelwa ukuba alilele ukulahleka komnye owayelilungu elihloniphekileyo lexesha elide endlwini kayise, umongi kaRebheka, uDebhora, owayikhaphayo inkosikazi yakhe ukusuka eMesopotami ukuya kwizwe leKanan. Ubukho bale ngwevukazi kwakuliqhina elixabisekileyo kuYakobi elamqamangela ebomini bakhe eselula, ngendlela eyodwa kunina othando lwakhe lwaluqinile lunobubele.     Endleleni esinga kumEfrata, kwaphinda kwakho olunye ulwaphulo-mthetho olumnyama endlwini kaYakobi, olwenza ukuba uRubhen, izibulo, aphulukane namalungelo nembeko yokuba yindlalifa.ANa 206.5

    Ekugqibeleni, uYakobi wafika ekupheleni kohambo lwakhe, “kuIsake uyise kwaMamre, . . . eHebron, apho babengabaphambukeli khona uAbraham noIsake.” Apha, wayehleli ngeminyaka yokugqibela yobomi bukayise. KuIsake, owayexhwalekile engaboni, ukukhathalelwa ngunyana wakhe owayengekho ixesha elide, kwakuyintuthuzelo ngeminyaka yesithukuthezi nokubhujelwa.ANa 207.1

Ingqwebo yaba bazalwana babini “ibininzi, ukuze bangabi nakuhlala ndawonye; nelizwe lokuphambukela kwabo libe lingenakubathwala ngenxa yemfuyo yabo.” Oku kwahlukana kwakuhambelana nenjongo yezulu ngokubhekiselele kuYakobi.     UEsawu noYakobi babekufundiswe ngokufanayo ukumazi uThixo, baza bobabini bakhululeka ukuba bahambe kwimithetho bakufumane ukuthandwa; kodwa abazange bobabini bakhethe ukukwenza oku. Abazalwana ababini bahamba iindlela ezahlukeneyo, zaza iindlela zabo zaqhubeka ukuya zisahlukana ngokwahlukana kakhulu.ANa 207.3

    Akukho kukhetha kunamaqhinga ngakwicala likaThixo, awathi ngako uEsawu wavalelwa kwiintsikelelo zosindiso. Izipho zobabalo lwaKhe ngoKristu zifumaneka simahla kubo bonke. Akukho kunyulwa kungekuko okomntu lowo, anokuthi nawuphina atshabalale ngako. UThixo ubeke elizwini laKhe iimeko onokuthi ngazo wonke umphefumlo unyulelwe ubomi obungunaphakade: ukuthobela imithetho, ngokholo kuKristu. UThixo ukhethe isimilo esihambelana nomthetho waKhe, kwaye wonke oya kufikelela kumgangatho woko akufunayo, uya kuba nelungelo lokungena kubukumkani bozuko. UKristu ngokwaKhe wathi, “Lowo ukholwayo kuNyana, ubobomi obungunaphakade; ke lowo ungamviyo uNyana akayi kubona bomi.” Yohane 3:36. Asingabo bonke abathi kum, Nkosi, Nkosi, abaya kungenaebukumkaninibamazulu.” Mateyu 7:21. Ubuya athi kwisiTyhilelo, “Banoyolo abo bayenzayo imithetho yakhe, ukuze igunya labo libe semthini wobomi, bangene ngamasango kuwo umzi.” IsiTyhilelo 22:14. Ngokubhekiselele kusindiso lomntu lokugqibela, kuphela kokhetho oluveziweyo olu elizwini likaThixo.ANa 207.4

    Unyuliwe wonke umphefumlo oya kulusebenza usindiso lwawo ngokoyika nokungcangcazela. Unyuliwe oya kuxhoba isikrweqe alwe kwidabi lokholo. Unyuliwe oya kulinda ngokuthandaza, oya kuziphengulula iziBhalo, asibaleke isilingo. Unyuliwe oya kuhlala enokholo, oya kuthobela lonke ilizwi eliphuma emlonyeni kaThixo. Imisindleko yokuhlangulwa ifumaneka simahla kubo bonke; iziphumo zokuhlangulwa ziya konwatyelwa ngabo benze ngokuhambelana neemeko ezo.ANa 208.1

    UEsawu wazidelela iintsikelelo zomnqophiso. Waxabisa ukulungelwa kwasemhlabeni ngaphezu kokwasemoyeni, waza wakufumana oko wayekunqwenela. Kwakungokuzikhethela kwakhe ngokuthanda ukuze ahlukaniswe nabantu bakaThixo. UYakobi wakhetha ilifa lokholo. Wazama ukulifumana ngamaqhinga, ngobuqhetseba, nangobuxoki; kodwa uThixo wasivumela isono sakhe ukuba sikusebenze ukulungiswa kwaso. Sekunjalo, kuwo wonke amava akrakra eminyaka yokukhula kwakhe, uYakobi akazange agungqe kwinjongo yakhe okanye akulahle ukukhetha kwakhe. Wayefunde ukuba, ekulungiseni ubuchule nobuchwephesha bokuzuza intsikelelo, wayesilwa noThixo. Kususela ngobusuku bokubambana ngaseYabhoki, uYakobi waphuma engumntu owahlukileyo. Wayefunde isifundo sokuxhomekeka ngokulula kwiNgalo enaMandla onke, wathi phakathi kokulingwa nembandezelo, wathoba ngokuzinikela kwintando kaThixo.     Isono sikaYakobi, nodederhu lweziganeko esakhokelela kuzo, azizange ziwe phantsi ekubekeni uxinzelelo lwempembelelo yobubi, mpembelelo leyo eyatyhila isiqhamo sayo esibi kwisimilo nobomi boonyana bakhe. Bathi xa aba nyana befika ebudodeni, bahluma kubo iziphoso ezibi. Iziphumo zabafazi abaninzi zabonakala ekhayeni labo. Obu bubi bukhulu bukholisa ukomisa kanye imithombo yothando, izeimpembeleloyabo yenze buthakathaka awona maqhina angcwele. Umona woomama abaliqela wabenza krakra ubudlelwane elusatsheni, abantwana bakhule bethanda ukulwa, bengakunyamezeli ukulawulwa, buze ubomi bukatata benziwe mnyama lixhala nentlungu.ANa 208.3

Enyulu, ekhuthele, ehleli onwabile, elityendye elalikwabonakalisa ukunyaniseka nokuqina ekuziphatheni. Waphulaphula imfundiso kayise, wakuthanda ukuthobela uThixo. Iimpawu ezathi kamva zamahlula eYiputa—ubulali, ukuthembeka, nokunyaniseka—konke kwakusele kubonakala ebomini bakhe bemihla ngemihla. Njengoko umama wakhe wayesele engasekho, uthando lwakhe lwabambelela kakhulu ngakumbi kuyise, yaza intliziyo kaYakobi yabopheleleka kulo mntwana wobudala bakhe. “Wayemthanda uYosefu ngaphezu kwabo bonke oonyana bakhe.”ANa 209.1

Wayengakwazi ukunyamezela xa ebabona besona ngakuThixo, aze awubeke umcimbi phambi kukayise, ethembe ukuba igunya lakhe laliya kubakhokelela ekubuyeni.ANa 209.2

    UYakobi wakuphepha ngobunono ukuvusa umsindo ngokungathethi rhabaxa okanye kalukhuni. Ngemvakalelo enzulu, wayixela inkathalo yakhe, wabacenga ukuba bayihloniphe intloko yakhe engwevu, bangazisi ihlazo phezu kwegama lakhe, nangaphezu koko, bangamhlazisi uThixo ngokutyeshela imiyalelo yaKhe okunjalo. Beneentloni kuba inkohlakalo yabo yayisaziwa, amadodana akhangeleka engathi ayaguquka, kodwa anela nje ukuyifihla indlela aziva ngayo, eyenziwa yabambi kakhulu koku kwenziwa nguYosefu.ANa 209.3

    Isipho sikayise kuYosefu esasingenabulumko sengubo yexabiso, okanye isambatho, esasikholisa ukunxitywa ngabantu abahloniphekileyo, sabukeka kubo njengobunye ubungqina bokukhetha kwakhe, savusa ukusola kokuba wayejonge ukubadlula abantwana abangabakhuluwa, ukuze anike ubundlalifa unyana kaRakeli. Inkohlakalo yabo yandiswa ngakumbi xa le ntwana yathi ngenye imini yabaxelela iphupha eyayinalo. “Yabonani, besibopha izithungu entsimini phakathi; saza isithungu sam sesuka sema; zaza izithungu zasingqonga zaqubuda kwisithungu sam.”ANa 209.4

    “Yinene na ukuba uya kuba ngukumkani phezu kwethu? Yinene na ukuba uya kusilawula?” Bakhuza batsho abakhuluwa bakhe bebonakala ukuba banomsindo onomona.ANa 210.1

    Kungekudala, waphinda wanelinye iphupha, elibaluleke ngokufanayo, nalo awalibalisayo: “Yabonani, ndibuye ndaphupha iphupha; ndiphuphe ilanga nenyanga neenkwenkwezi ezilishumi elinanye ziqubuda kum.” Eli iphupha laguqulwa ngokulula njengelokuqala.     Abakhuluwa babenyanzelekile ukuba bahambe baye kwiindawo ngeendawo befuna amadlelo emihlambi yabo, baza bakholisa ukungabikho ekhaya iinyanga bekunye. Emva kweemeko ezisanda kubaliswa, baya kwindawo eyayithengwe nguyise kwaShekem.     Ngentliziyo enovuyo, uYosefu wamshiya uyise, ixhego netyendye bobabini bengayiphuphi into enokwenzeka phambi kokuba babuye bahlangane kwakhona.     Abakhuluwa bakhe bambona esavela; kodwa kungekho kucinga ngohambooludealwenzileyo ukubaahlanganenabo,ngokudinwa nangokulamba,ngamabangoakhe ngokubabuka nothando lobuzalwana kwathambisa ukukrakra bentiyo yabo. Ukubona nje ingubo, umqondiso wothando lukayise, kwabazalisa ngempambano. “Nako lo mphuphi esiza.” Bahlahlamba begculela. Umona nempindezelo, ekukade zifukanyiwe, zaya zabalawula ngoku. “Yizani ke ngoko, simbulale” batsho, “simphose komnye wemihadi, sithi, Udliwe lirhamncwa, size sibone ukuba amaphupha akhe oba yintoni na.”ANa 211.1

    Ngebabeyenzile injongo yabo ukuba kwakungengaye uRubhen. Woyika ukuba nenxaxheba ekubulaleni umntakwabo, waza wacebisa ukuba uYosefu afakwe ephila emhadini, aze ashiywe ukuba afe, ngokufihlakeleyo enengqondo yokuba amhlangule ambuyisele kuyise.     UYosefu waza kufika, engacingele ngozi, evuya kuba injongo yohambo lwakhe olude iphumelele; kodwa, endaweni yombuliso olindelekileyo, woyikiswa kukugxezulwa okunengqumbo nempindezelo awahlangana nako. Wabanjwa, yahluthwa ingubo yakhe. Izoyikiso nezothuso zayiveza injongo eyingozi. Ukucenga kwakhe akuzange kumanyelwe. Ngokupheleleyo, wayesemandleni aloo madoda aphambeneyo.     URubhen wabuyela emhadini, kodwa uYosefu wayengekho.
