ISabatha yangcwaliswa endalweni. Njengoko yangcwaliselwa umntu, inayo imvelaphi, “ekumemeleleni kunye kwamakhwezi okusa, beduma bonke oonyana bakaThixo.” Yobhi 38:7. Uxolo lwalufukame phezu kwezwe; kuba umhlaba wawuhambelana nezulu. “Wakubona uThixo konke akwenzileyo, nanko, kulungile Kunene;” waphumla phezu kovuyo lomsebenzi waKhe awugqibileyo. Kuba waphumla ngeSabatha, “uThixo wawusikelela umhla wesixhenxe, wawungcwalisa,“—ukuwubeka bucala ukuba usetyenziselwe okungcwele. Wawunika uAdam ukuba ube yimini yokuphumla. Wawusisikhumbuzo somsebenzi wokudala, waba ke ngoko, ungumqondiso wamandla kaThixo nothando lwaKhe. Izinto zonke zazidalwe nguNyana kaThixo. “Ekuqalekeni ube ekho uLizwi, waye uLizwi ekuye uThixo. . . . Izinto zonke zabakho ngaye; engekho yena, akubangakho nanye into ethe yabakho.” Yohane 1: 1-3. Kususela ukuba iSabatha isisikhumbuzo somsebenzi wokudala, ingumqondiso wothando namandla kaKristu. ULw 281.3
ISabatha ibizela iingcinga zethu endalweni, isizise kunxulumano noMdali.Kwintsholoyentaka,ukuncwinakwemithi, nakwingoma yolwandle,sisenokuliva ilizwi laKhe Lowo athetha noAdam e-Eden, kwimpepho epholileyo yemini. Sithi ke xa siwakhangele amandla waKhe endalweni, sifumana intuthuzelo, kuba ilizwi eladala zonke izinto lilo elithetha kubekho ubomi emphefumlweni. Aniqondanga na kwasekusekweni kwehlabathi? Ngulo uhlala phezu kwesazinge sehlabathi, abemi balo ke benjengemicikwane; ulowaneka izulu njengeqhiya eliyasuyasu, walitwabulula njengentente yokuhlala; . . . Niya kundifanisa nabani na, ndilingane naye? Utsho oyiNgcwele. Phakamiselani amehlo enu phezulu, nibone: Ngubani na owadala ezi zinto? Umnika otyhafileyo amandla, ongenakomelela amandisele ukuqina.” “Musa ukoyika, kuba ndinawe mna; musa ukubhekabheka, kuba ndinguThixo wakho; ndikukhaliphisile, ewe, ndikuncedile, ndikuxhasile ngesandla sam sokunene sobulungisa bam.” “Bhekani kum, nisindiswe, nonke ziphelo zehlabathi; ngokuba ndinguThixo, akukho wumbi.” Esi sisigidimi esibhalwe endalweni, ethe yabekelwa sona iSabatha ukuba isigcine enkumbulweni. ISabatha yayiqukiwe kumthetho owanikwa eSinayi; kodwa yayingaqali ngoko ukwaziswa njengemini yophumlo. Abantu bakwaIsrayeli babeyazi kwangaphambi kokuba bafike eSinayi. Endleleni eya apho, eSinayi, iSabatha yayigcinwa. Bathi abanye bakuyihlambela, uYehova wabangxolisa, esithi, “Kuya kuda kube nini na, ningavumi ukuyigcina imithetho yam nemiyalelo yam?” Eks. 16:28.ULw 283.1
ISabatha yayingeyiyo ekaIsrayeli nje kuphela, kodwa yayiyeyomhlaba wonke. Yaziswa emntwini e-Eden, kwaye, njengeminye imiyalelo yemiThetho eliShumi, isisinyanzeliso esingenakudlula. Ethetha ngaloo mthetho oyinxalenye yawo nomthetho wesine, uKristu wathi, “Koda kudlule izulu nehlabathi, kungakhanga kudlule nalinye iganyana nokuba lisuntswana emthethweni.” Esekhona amazulu nomhlaba, iSabatha iya kuhlala ingumqondiso wamandla oMdali. Akukho simiso sisesinye esasinikelwe kumaYuda esasithambekele ngokupheleleyo ukubahlula kwezinye intlanga njengeSabatha. UThixo wacwangcisa ukuba ugcino lwayo lubahlule njengabanquli baKhe. Yayizakuba luphawu lokwahluka kwabo kunqulo-zithixo, noqhagamshelwano lwabo noThixo wenene. Khon’ ukuze bayigcine ngcwele iSabatha, abantu bona ngokwabo kufuneka babe ngcwele. Ngokholo mababe ngabathabathi nxaxheba kubulungisa bukaKristu.” Xa umyalelo wawunikwa uIsrayeli, “Khumbula umhla wesabatha, ukuba uwungcwalise,” uYehova wabuya wathi kubo, “Noba ngabantu abangcwele kum.” Eks. 20:8; 22:31. Kungaloo ndlela kuphela eyayinokuthi iSabatha imbalule uIsrayeli njengabanquli bakaThixo. ULw 283.3
Athi xa amaYuda esimka kuThixo, esilela ukwenza ukuba ubulungisa bukaKristu bube bobawo ngokholo, iSabatha yalahlekwa kukubaluleka kuwo. USathana wayezama ukuziphakamisa nokutsalela bantu kude kuKristu,wasebenzela ukuyigqwetha iSabatha, kuba ingumqondiso wamandla kaKristu. Iinkokeli zamaYuda zayifeza intando kaSathana ngokuyirhangqa imini kaThixo yokuphumla ngemiqathango eyayingumthwalo. Ngemihla kaKristu, iSabatha yayigqwetheke kangangokuba ukuyigcina kwakubonakalalisa isimilo sabantu abanomona nogonyamelo endaweni yesimilo sikaBawo osemazulwini onothando. Oorabhi ngokwenyani bamveza uThixo njengonika imithetho eyayingenako ukuthotyelwa ngabantu. Babakhokelela abantu ukuba bambone uThixo njengengonyama, nokuba bacinge ukuba ukugcina iSabatha, njengoko wayefuna kwenziwe, kwabenza abantu baqaqadeka bakhohlakala. Yayingumsebenzi kaKristu ukuzisusa ezi mbono zigwenxa. Nangona oorabhi babemlandela ngobundlongo-ndlongo obungenamfesane, akazange abengathi angakhe avumelane nemiqathango yabo, koko wabheka phambili ethe ngqo egcina iSabatha ngokomthetho kaThixo.ULw 283.4
Kwathi ngenye iSabatha, xa uMsindisi nabafundi baKhe babebuya kwindawo yokunqula, badlula entsimini eyayinengqolowa eseyivuthwa. UYesu wayesebenze lada lemka kakhulu ilanga, baza bathi xa bedlula entsimini, abafundi baqala ukukha izihloko zengqolowa, bazitya iinkozo emva kokuba bezihlikihlile ezandleni zabo. Xa kuyiyo neyiphi imini, esi senzo sokunqumla entsimini yengqolowa, ebhomeni, okanye esidiliyeni, aze umntu akhe loo nto anga angayitya ngelo xesha [kwalapho], sasingabangeli ntetho. Bona uDut. 23:24, 25. Kona ukwenza oko ngeSabatha kwakubonwa njengesenzo sokuyihlambela. Kwakungaphelelanga nje ekubeni ukukha iintloko ezi zengqolowa kwakuthatyathwa njengokuvuna, kodwa kwaukuhlikihla ngezandla ukuba kusuke amakhatshu kusale iinkozo, kwakubonwa kuluhlobo lokubhula. Ngoko ke, ngokokubona koorabhi, kwakukho ukona kabini.ULw 284.1
Iintlola zathi kwangoko zakhalaza kuYesu, zisithi, “Yabona, abafundi bakho benza oko kungavumelekileyo ukwenziwa ngesabatha.” ULw 284.2
Xa wayehlaselwa ngokwaphula iSabatha eBhetesda, uYesu wazikhusela ngokuqinisekisa ukuba unguNyana kaThixo, esithiusebenzangokuhambelananoYise. Ngoku, xa kuhlaselwa abafundi, ubacaphulela abamangaleli baKhe kwiTestamente eNdala, izenzo ezenziwa ngeSabatha ngaba babesemsebenzini kaThixo. Okokuba wangena endlwini kaThixo, wazithabathela izonka ezibekwe phambi koThixo, . . . ezo ke kungavumelekileyo ukuba zidliwe bantu, ingengabo ababingeleli bodwa?” “Wayesithi kubo, Isabatha le yabakho ngenxa yomntu, asingumntu owabakhoyo ngenxa yesabatha.” “Anilesanga na emthethweni, ukuba ngesabatha ababingeleli etempileni bayayingcolisa isabatha, bangazeki tyala noko? Ukuba kwakulungile ukuba uDavide asuse indlala ngokutya isonka esasibekelwe bucala ukusetyenziselwa okungcwele, ngoko ke, kwakulungile ukuba abafundi banelise isidingo sabo ngokukha iinkozo ngeeyure ezingcwele zeSabatha. Kwakhona, ababingeleli etempileni benza imisebenzi emikhulu ngeSabatha kunezinye iintsuku. Kwawona loo msebenzi, ngezinye iintsuku ubuya kuba sisono; kodwa umsebenzi wababingeleli wawukukusebenzela uThixo. Babesenza iinkonzo ezazisalatha kumandla ahlangulayo kaKristu, kwaye umsebenzi wabo wawuhambelana nenjongo yeSabatha. Ngoku ke, uKristu ngokwaKhe uthe wakho. Abafundi, ngokwenza umsebenzi kaKristu, babesenza umsebenzi kaThixo, kwaye ke, oko kwakufuneka kwenziwe ukuze wenzeke lo msebenzi, kwakulungile ukukwenza ngemini yeSabatha. ULw 285.1
UKristu wayenga angabafundisa abafundi baKhe kunye neentshaba zaKhe ukuba umsebenzi kaThixo uhamba phambili kuko konke. Injongo yomsebenzi kaThixo kulo mhlaba kukuhlangulwa komntu; ngoko ke, oko kufuneka kwenziwe ngeSabatha ukuwufeza lo msebenzi kuyahambelana nomthetho weSabatha. UYesu ngoko wayigqibezela intetho yaKhe ngokuvakalisa ukuba Yena ngokwaKhe “uyiNkosi yeSabatha,“—engaphezu kwako konke ukuxoxa nangaphezu kwawo wonke umthetho. Lo Mgwebi ungenamida ubandulula bengenatyala abafundi kwisityholo, ngokubhenela kwakule mithetho babemangalelwa ngokuyaphula. ULw 285.2
UYesu akazange awuyeke udlule nje lo mba kuba ezikhalimele iintshaba zakhe. Waya wazixelela nokuba, ngobumfama bazo ziye zalahlekwa yinjongo yeSabatha. Wathi, “Ukuba ke nibe nikwazile ukuba kuthini na ukuthi, Ndithanda inceba, andithandi mbingelelo, ninge ningabagwebangaabangenatyala.” Mat. 12:7. Iinkonzo ezininzi zazo ezingenalusizi, zazingakwazi ukuyithabatha indawo yokungabikho kwemfezeko enyanisekileyo nothando olunobubele, izinto eziye zibekho kumnquli wenene kaThixo.ULw 285.3
Kwakhona uKristu wayiphinda inyaniso yokuba, imibingelelo yona ngokwayo ayinalo ixabiso. Yayiyindlela esa esiphelweni, ingesiso isiphelo ekwakujongwe kuso. Injongo yayo yayikukukhokelela abantu kuMsindisi, baze ngoko benziwe bavumelane noThixo. Iyinkonzo yothando exatyisiweyo nguThixo. Xa oku kungekho [uthando], inkqubo nje yenkonzo isisikhubekiso kuYe, uThixo. Injalo ke neSabatha. Yalungiselelwa ukuba izise abantu kunxulumano noThixo; kodwa xa ingqondo ithabatheke ziinkonzo ezidinisayo, injongo yeSabatha iyathinteleka. Ukuyigcina nje ngokwangaphandle kusisigculelo. ULw 286.1
Ngenye iSabatha, xa uYesu engena endlwini yesikhungu, wabona indoda eyome isandla. AbaFarisi bamqwalasela, befuna ukubona ukuba uya kwenza ntoni. UMsindisi wayesazi kakuhle ukuba ekuphiliseni ngeSabatha uya kuthatyathwa njengomaphuli womthetho, kodwa akazange abe madol’ anzima ukuzidiliza iindonga zemiqathango yesithethe ezaziyimiqobo ekhusele iSabatha. UYesu wayiyalela indoda ebandezelekileyo ukuba iphakame ize, waza wabuza, “Okuvumelekileyo ngesabatha kukwenza okulungileyo, kukwenza okubi, kusini na? Kukusindisa, kukubulala, kusini na?” Kwakuyintetho eqhelekileyo kumaYuda ukuthi, ukusilela ukwenza okulungileyo, xa umntu enalo ithuba, oko yayikukwenza okubi; ukutyeshela ukusindisa yayikukubulala. Ngoko ke uYesu waqubisana noorabhi kumhlaba wabo. “Ke bahlala bathi tu. Akuba ebasingasingile ngengqumbo, ebuhlungu ngenxa yokuqaqadeka kwentliziyo yabo, uthi kumntu lowo, Solule isandla sakho. Wasolula, sabuya saphila ke isandla sakhe, saba kwanjengesinye.” Marko 3:4, 5.ULw 286.2
Wathi akubuzwa, “Kuvumelekile na ukuphilisa ngesabatha?” uYesu waphendula, wathi, “Kuni apha nguwuphi na umntu ongethi, enemvuinye, yaza yona yeyela emhadini ngesabatha, angayibambi ayirhole? Ubeke phi na ke umntu ukuyigqitha imvu? Ngoko ke kuvumelekile ukwenza okulungileyo ngesabatha.” Mat. 12:10-12. ULw 286.3
Iintlola azizange zikwazi ukumphendula phambi kwesihlwele, ngokoyika ukuzifaka enkathazweni. Zazisazi ukuba wayethethe inyaniso. Endaweni yokwaphula izithethe zazo, zaziya kumyeka umntu ukuba afe, lo gama bebeya kusisusa isilwanyana kuba bekuya kuba yilahleko kumnini waso ukuba siye asahoywa. Ngaloo ndlela inkathalo enkulu yayiboniswa kwisilwanyana esingathethiyo kunasemntwini, owenziwe ngokomfanekiselo kaThixo. Le nto ibonisa ukusebenza kweenkolo zobuxoki. Intsusa yazoisekulangazelelenikokuphakanyiswa komntu ngaphezu kukaThixo, kodwa isiphumo siba kukuthotyelwa komntu phantsi kunesilwanyana. Yonke inkolo elwa nobukhosi bukaThixo iyamqhatha umntu ngozuko olulolwakhe kwasekudalweni, noluza kubuyiselwa kuye ngoKristu. Yonke inkolo yobuxoki ibafundisa abo bayame kuyo ukuba bangazikhathaleli izidingo, ukuhlupheka, kunye namalungelo oluntu. Iindaba ezilungileyo zibeka ixabiso elikhulu eluntwini njengabathengwa ngegazi likaKristu, ize ifundise ukuziqwalasela ngothando iimfuno neentsizi zomntu. UYehova uthi, “Ndiwenze amadoda anqabe ngaphezu kwegolide ecikizekileyo yakwaOfire.” Isa. 13:12.ULw 286.4
Xa uYesu wayebuyela kubaFarisi nombuzo wokuba kulungile na ukuthi ngeSabatha kwenziwe okulungileyo okanye okubi, ukusindisa ubomi okanye ukubulala, wayejongene nabo ngezabo iinjongo ezikhohlakeleyo. Babezingela ubomi baKhe benentliziyo enentiyo ekrakra, lo gama Yena wayezama ukusindisa ubomi nokuzisa ulonwabo kwizihlwele. Kwakulungile yini ukubulala ngeSabatha, njengoko babeceba ukwenza oko, kunokuphilisa obandezelekileyo njengoko Yena wenzayo? Ingaba kwakulunge kakhulu na ukuba nokubulala entliziyweni ngemini engcwele kaThixo kunokuthanda abantu bonke, nto leyo ebonakalaliswa kwizenzo zenceba? ULw 287.1
Ekuphilisweni konesandla esomileyo, uYesu waligweba isiko lamaYuda, wawushiya umthetho wesine umi njengoko uThixo wayewunikile. “Kuvumelekile ukwenza okulungileyo ngesabatha,” watsho. Ngokutshayela inkunkuma yemiqathango yamaYuda, uKristu wayizukisa iSabatha, lo gama abo babemkhalazela bona bengayizukisi imini engcwele kaThixo. ULw 287.2
Abo babambelele kwinto ethi uKristu wawubhangisa umthetho bafundisa ukuba wayaphula iSabatha wabagwebela abafundi baKhe ngokwenza njalo nabo. Ngolo hlobo, bahamba kanye kwela khondo ayehambe kulo amaYuda awayenochuku. Kulo mba, bachasana nobungqina bukaKristu ngokwaKhe, owathi, “Mna ndayigcinayo imithetho kaBawo, ndahlala eluthandweni lwakhe.” Yohane 15:10. UMsindisi kunye nabafundi baKhe abazange bawaphule umthetho weSabatha. Akukho kwaphulwa kwemimiselo engcwele kwafunyanwa ebomini baKhe. Ekhangele kwisizwe samangqina awayefuna ukufumana into yokubambelela ekumtyholeni wakwazi ukuthi, ngaphandle koloyiko, “Ngubani na kuni ondohlwayayo ngenxa yesono?” Yohane 8:46. ULw 287.3
UMsindisi wayengezanga ukuba abekele bucala oko amanyange nabaprofeti babekuthethile; kuba yayinguYe ngokwaKhe owayethetha ngaba bameli bangabantu. Zonke iinyaniso zelizwi likaThixo zaziphuma kuYe. Wona la magugu angenako nokuxatyiswa ayebekwe kwiimeko ezigwenxa. Ukukhanya kwawo okuxabisekileyo kwenziwa ukuba kulungiselele kwimposiso. UThixo walangazelela ukuba asuswe kwezo meko akuzo zemposiso abekwe ngokutsha kwindawo yokusebenza kwenyaniso. Lo msebenzi kuphela sisandla sezulu esasinokuwufeza. Ngokuhlangana kwayo nemposiso, inyaniso yayisebenza ukufeza injongo yotshaba lukaThixo nomntu. UKristu weza ukuba ayibeke apho yayiya kuthi izise uzuko kuThixo, isebenze usindiso loluntu. ULw 287.4
“ISabatha yabakho ngenxa yomntu, asingumntu owabakho ngenxa yeSabatha,” watsho uYesu. Izimiso uThixo awazimisayo zezokulungelwa koluntu. “Konke oko kungenxa yenu.” “Nokuba nguPawulos, nokuba nguApolo, nokuba nguKefas, nokuba lihlabathi, nokuba bubomi, nokuba kukufa, nokuba zizinto ezingeneyo, nokuba zezizayo: zonke zezenu. Nina ke ningabakaKristu, uKristu ke ngokaThixo.” 2 Kor. 4:15; 1 Kor. 3:22, 23. Umthetho wemiThetho eliShumi, eyinxalenye yayo iSabatha, uThixo wayinika abantu baKhe iyintsikelelo. “Wasiwisela umthetho uYehova,” watsho uMoses, “ukuba siyenze le mimiselo yonke, ukuba simoyike uYehova uThixo wethu, kulunge kuthi yonke imihla, silondolozelwe ebomini.” Dut. 6:24. Kanti ke, ngomdumisi kwanikwa isigidimi uIsrayeli, “Mkhonzeni uYehova nivuya; yizani phambi kwakhe nimemelela. Yazini ukuba uYehova nguThixo yena; wasenza yena, asisithi; singabantu bakhe nezimvu ezaluswa nguye. Ngenani emasangweni akhe nibulela, ezintendelezweni zakhe nidumisa.”Nd. 100:2-4. Kubo bonke abagcina “iSabatha bangayihlambeli,” uthi uYehova, “Ndobazisa entabeni yam engcwele, ndibavuyise endlwini yam yokuthandaza.” Isa. 56:6, 7.ULw 288.1
“Ngoko ke, uNyana woMntu uyinkosi yayo nesabatha.” La ngamazwi azele yimfundiso nentuthuzelo. Ngenxa yokuba iSabatha yenzelwa umntu, iyimini yeNkosi. YekaKristu. Kaloku “izinto zonke zabakho ngaye; engekho yena, akubangakho nanye into ethe yabakho.” Yohane 1:3. Njengokuba wazenza zonke izinto, wayenza iSabatha. NgaYe yabekwa bucala ukuba ibe sisikhumbuzo somsebenzi wokudala. Yalatha kuYe njengoMdali noMngcwalisi. Ivakalisa ukuba lowo wadala zonke izinto ezulwini nasemhlabeni, nezibanjwe nguYe zonke izinto, uyintloko yebandla, nokuba ngegunya laKhe siyaxolelaniswa noThixo. Uthi ke, ethetha ngoIsrayeli, “Ndabanika iisabatha zam, ukuba zibe ngumqondiso phakathi kwam nabo, ukuze bazi ukuba mna Yehova ndiyabangcwalisa,” Hez. 20:12. Ngoko ke iSabatha iluphawu lwegunya likaKristu lokusenza ngcwele. [ISabatha] inikwe bonke abo uKristu abenza ngcwele. Njengophawu lwegunya laKhe lokungcwalisa, iSabatha inikwe bonke abathi ngaye uKristu babe yinxalenye kaIsrayeli kaThixo. ULw 288.2
