    19—Equleni LikaYakobi

    [Esi sahluko sisekwe kuYohane 4:1-42.]

    Endleleni esinga eGalili, uYesu wadlula phakathi eSamariya. Kwakusemini emaqanda xa wayefika kwintili entle yaseShekem. Ekungeneni kule ntili, kwakukho iqula likaYakobi. Ediniwe luhambo lwaKhe, wahlala phantsi apho ukuba akhe aphumle okomzuzwana lo gama abafundi baKhe bahamba baya kuthenga ukutya. AmaYuda namaSamariya ayezintshaba ezinkulu, kwaye, kangangoko kunokwenzeka, ayekuphepha ukwenza yonke imicimbi kunye. Ukurhweba namaSamariya xa kufuneka kwakubalelwa ekuthini kusemthethweni ngoorabhi; kodwa ukwabelana ngobudlelwane kunye nawo kwakungafuneki. UmYuda wayengaboleki kumSamariya, engamkeli nobubele bakhe, nokuba liqhekeza lesonka okanye intwana yamanzi. Abafundi, ngokuthenga ukutya, ayesenza ngokuhambelana nesiko lesizwe sabo. Ngaphaya koku, babengenako ukudlula. Ukucela ukuncedwa kumaSamariya, okanye ukuzama ukuwanceda nangayiphi indlela, akuzange kuthi qatha nakwabakaKristu abafundi. Ngeli xesha uYesu ehleli ngasequleni, wayesifa yindlala nonxano. Uhambo kususela ekuseni, lwalulude, kwaye ngoku ilanga lasemini lalibetha kuYe. Unxano lwakhe lwaya lukhula ngokucinga ngamanzi apholileyo nahlaziyayo akufuphi kakhulu, kodwa engakwazi ukufumaneka kuYe; kuba wayengenayo intambo okanye into yokukha amanzi, njengoko iqula lalinzulu. Waba kule meko nabanye abantu baba kuyo, waza walinda ukuba kude kubekho umntu oza kuza kukha amanzi. ULw 183.1

    Kwathi gqi intokazi yaseSamariya, ikhangeleka ingabuqondanga ubukho baKhe, yakha yazalisa umphanda wayo ngamanzi. Yathi xa isuka ihamba, uYesu wacela kuyo amanzi. Kwaye kungekho mntu waseMpuma onokusala isicelo esinjalo. ULw 183.2

    EMpuma, amanzi ayebizwa ngokuba “[si]sipho sikaThixo.” Ukunika into yokusela umhambi kwakuthatyathwa njengomsebenzi ongcwele, ama-Arabhi asentlango awaye ade aphume endleleni yawo ukuba awenze. Intiyo phakathi kwamaYuda namaSamariya yayiyalela le ntokazi ukuba yenze ububele kuYesu; kodwa uMsindisi wayezama ukufumana isitshixo sokufikelela kule ntliziyo, kwaye ngesenzo esiphuma kuthando olungcwele, wacela, akanika, uncedo. Ukunika uncedo kwakunokwaliwa; kodwa ukuthemba kuzala ukuthemba. UKumkani wasezulwini weza kulo mphefumlo ulahlelwe kude, ecela uncedo ezandleni zawo. Lowo wenza iilwandle, olawula amanzi enzonzobila, ovula imithombo nemijelo yomhlaba, waphumla ekudinweni kwaKhe equleni likaYakobi, waza waxhomekeka kububele bowasemzini ngesipho samanzi aselwayo.     Intokazi yambona uYesu ukuba ungumYuda. Yathi imangalisiwe, yakulibala ukumnika ngokwesicelo saKhe, yasuka yafuna ukuqonda isizathu soko. “Uthini na wena,” yatsho, ungumYuda nje, ukucela kum into eselwayo, ndingumSamariyakazi” ULw 184.1

    UYesu waphendula, Ukuba ubusazi isipho sikaThixo, nokuba ngubani na lo uthi kuwe, Ndiphe ndisele: unge ucele kuye wena, wakupha amanzi aphilileyo.” Uyamangaliswa kukuba indim ocela ukwenzelwa into encinane enje ngokurhabula nje amanzi aphuma equleni elisezinyaweni zethu. Ukuba wena ubucele kuM, ngendikunike ukuba usele amanzi angunaphakade. ULw 184.2

    Intokazi ayizange iwaqonde amazwi kaKristu, kodwa yakuva kukho ukubaluleka okunendili. Yaqala ngoko ukutshintsha indlela yayo yencoko elula neqhulayo. Icinga ukuba uYesu uthetha ngequla eliphambi kwabo, yathi, “Nkosi, akunanto yakukha, nequla linzulu, uwazuza phi na ke amanzi aphilileyo lawo? Wena umkhulu yini na kunobawo wethu uYakobi, owasinikayo iqula eli, wayesela kulo yena?” Yabona phambi kwayo kuphela umhambi onxaniweyo, oxikixwe yindlela nozele Luthuli. Engqondweni yayo yamthelekisa [uYesu] nenyange elalihlonitshwa, uYakobi. Yaba nemvakalelo ethi, eqhelekileyo ke phofu, alikho elinye iqula elinokulingana nelo balinikwa ngooyise. Yakhangela emva kooyise, naphambili ekufikeni kukaMesiya, lo gama iThemba looyise, uMesiya ngokwaKhe, wayesecaleni kwayo, kodwaingamazi. Mingaphi imiphefumlo enxaniweyo namhlanje ekufuphi ngakumthombo ophilileyo, ukanti isakhangele kude ifuna imithombo yobomi! “Musa ukuthi entliziyweni yakho, Ngubani oya kunyuka aye emazulwini ukuba ahlise uKristu? Nokuthi, Ngubani na oya kuhla aye enzonzobileni, ukuba anyuse uKristu kwabafileyo? . . . Ilizwi eli likufuphi kuwe, emlonyeni wakho nasentliziyweni yakho: . . . xa uthe wamvuma ngomlomo wakho ukuba uyiNkosi uYesu, wakholwa ngentliziyo yakho ukuba uThixo wamvusa kwabafileyo, wosindiswa.” Roma 10:6-9. ULw 184.3

    UYesu akazange awuphendule kwangoko umbuzo ongaYe, kodwa, ngokunyaniseka okunendili, wathi, “Bonke abasela kula manzi, baya kubuya banxanwe; ke yena othe wasela kuwo amanzi, endiya kumpha wona mna, akasayi kuza anxanwe naphakade; aya kusuka amanzi, endiya kumpha wona, abe ngumthombo kuye wamanzi ampompozela ebomini obungunaphakade.” ULw 187.1

    Lowo ufuna ukukholisa unxano lwakhe kwimithombo yeli lizwe uya kusela aphinde anxanwe kwakhona. Kuyo yonke indawo abantu abanelisekanga. Balangazelela into enganelisa isidingo somphefumlo. Mnye kuphela ongahlangabezana naloo ntswelo. Isidingo sehlabathi, “Olangazelelwa zizo zonke iintlanga,” nguKristu. Ubabalo lwezulu ekuphela kwaKhe onokulunika, lungamanzi aphilileyo, ahlambululayo, ahlaziyayo, nawudlamkisayo umphefumlo. ULw 187.2

    UYesu akazange anike ingcinga yokuba ukurhabula nje kube kanye kumanzi obomi kuya kumanelisa lowo uwafumanayo. Lowo ungcamla uthando lukaKristu uya kuqhubela ixesha elide efuna okongeziweyo; angabuye afune enye into. Ubutyebi, imbeko, neziyolo zehlabathi azinamtsalane kuye. Isikhalo esizingileyo sentliziyo yakhe, sithi, Ngakumbi ngaWe. Lowo ukutyhilayo emphefumlweni oko ukusweleyo, ulindile ukuba akwanelise ukulamba nokunxanwa kwawo. Konke okufanele ukuba kumxhase axhomekeke kuko umntu kungaphela. Amaqula angaphelelwa ngamanzi, ome; kodwa uMhlanguli wethu ungumthombo ongatshiyo. Singasela, siphinde sisele singayeki, sihlale sifumana amanzi, amatsha [ahlaziyayo]. Lowo uKristu ahleli kuye, ngaphakathi kwakhe unomthombo wentsikelelo,--“umthombo . . . wamanzi ampompozela ebomini obungunaphakade.” Kulo vimba unokukhupha amandla nobabalo olwanele zonke izidingo zakhe. ULw 187.3

    Ngeli xesha uYesu wayethetha ngamanzi aphilileyo, le ntokazi yayimkhangele ngengqwalaselo emangalisiweyo. Wayevuselele umdla wayo, wavusa ulangazelelo lwesipho awayethetha ngaso. Yaqonda ukuba sasingengawo amanzi equla likaYakobi la wayebhekisa kuwo; kuba aweli iqula yayiwasebenzisa rhoqo, iwasela, kodwa ibuye inxanwe kwakhona. “Nkosi,” yatsho, “ndiphe loo manzi, ukuze ndinganxanwa, ndingezi nokuza kukha apha.” ULw 187.4

    UYesu wasuka wayiguqula ngokukhawuleza incoko. Phambi kokuba lo mphefumlo uzuze isipho awayefuna ukuwunika, kufuneka wenziwe usiqonde isono sawo kunye noMsindisi wawo. “Athi kuyo, Hamba uye kubiza indoda yakho, uze apha.” Yaphendula, yathi, “Andinandoda.” Ngokutsho njalo yayithembe ukuyithintela yonke imbuzwano ebheke ngakwelo cala. UMsindisi yena waqhubeka, “Ulungisile ukuthi, Andinandoda; kuba ubunamadoda amahlanu; onayo ngoku asindoda yakho, unyanisile ukutsho.”ULw 187.5

    Ophulaphuleyo wangcangcazela. Isandla esifihlakeleyo sasityhila amaphepha embali yobomi bayo, sibeka elubalaokoyayithembe ukuba iya kukugcina kufihlakele ngonaphakade. Ngubani yena lo ufunda iimfihlelo zobomi? Kwaya kwafika kuyo iingcamango zikanaphakade, zoMgwebo ozayo, xa konke okufihlakeleyo ngoku kuya kutyhilwa. Ngako oku, isazela sayo savuswa.ULw 188.1

    Ayizange ikwazi ukukhanyela nto; kodwa yazama ukukuphepha konke ukuthetha ngalo mcimbi ungamkelekanga kangako. Ngentlonelo enkulu, yathi, “Nkosi, ndiyabona ukuba ungumprofeti wena.” Yabuya yathi, ngokuthemba ukuyithulisa le ngqondo inayo, yabuyela kwiintetho ezazingempikiswano ngenkolo. Ukuba lo ube engumprofeti, ngokuqinisekileyo wayenokuyifundisa ngale miba ekwakukade kuphikiswana ngayo.ULw 188.2

    Ngomonde, uYesu wayivumela ukuba iyikhokelele kwelo cala ifuna ngakulo incoko. Lonke ixesha wayekhangela ithuba lokuphinda azise inyaniso entliziyweni yayo. “Oobawo bethu babenqula kule ntaba,” yatsho, “nina ke nithi iseYerusalem indawo apho abantu bamelwe kukunqula khona.” Phambi kwabo yayimi iNtaba iGerizim. Iitempile zayo zazidilikile, kusele isibingelelo kuphela. Indawo yonqulo yayisoloko ingumba wempikiswano phakathi kwamaYuda namaSamariya. Abanye booyisemkhulu bamaSamariya babekhe bangabakwaIsrayeli; kodwa ngenxa yezono zabo, uYehova wabayekela ukuba boyiswe sisizwe esinqula izithixo. Kwakuzizizukulwana ezininzi bexubene nabanquli bezithixo, nabankolo yabo yaya iyidyobha inkolo yabo [maIsrayeli]. Yayiyinyaniso into yokuba izithixo zabo zazizizinto nje zokubakhumbuza ngoThixo ophilileyo, uMlawuli welizwe lonke; kodwa ke abantu benziwa ukuba bayihloniphe imifanekiso yabo eqingqiweyo. ULw 188.3

    Ukwakhiwa kwetempile eYerusalem ngemihla kaEzra, amaSamariya afuna ukuhlangana namaYuda ekuyakheni. Eli lungelo laliwa, kwaza kwakho ukungavani okukhulu phakathi kwezi zizwe zibini. AmaSamariya akha itempile efana nayo kwiNtaba iGerizim. Apha, anqula ngokwenkonzo kaMoses, nangona ke wona engazange akulahle kuphele ukunqula izithixo. Aya afikelwa ziintlekele, itempile yawo yatshatyalaliswa ziintshaba zabo, bakhangeleka engathi aphantsi kwesiqalekiso; kodwa kunjalo abambelela kwisithethe sawo nakwiimilo zonqulo lwawo. Awazange ayamkele itempile eseYerusalem njengendlu kaThixo, engazange avume nokuba inkolo yamaYuda yayingaphezulu kuleyo yawo [maSamariya]. ULw 188.4

    Ukuyiphendula le ntokazi, uYesu wathi, “Kholwa ndim, ukuba kuza ilixa, eningasayi kuthi nakule ntaba, naseYerusalem, nimnqule uBawo, Nina ninqula eningakwaziyo; thina sinqula esikwaziyo; ngokuba usindiso luphuma kumaYuda.” UYesu wabonisa ukuba akachaphazeleki kukungavani phakathikwamaYuda namaSamari. Ngokuwayezama ukususa oku kungaboningasonye kwamaSamari namaYuda. Lo gama ebonisa ukuba ukholo lwamaSamariya lwalonakaliswe lunqulo lwezithixo, wayekwavakalisa ukuba iinyaniso ezinkulu zokuhlangulwa zanikelwa kumaYuda, nokuba, phakathi kwawo, kwakuza kuvela uMesiya. KwimiBhalo eNgcwele kwakukho ingcaciso ecacileyo yesimilo sikaThixo nemithetho-siseko yolawulo lwaKhe. UYesu wayezibeke kunye namaYuda njengabantu uThixo awayenikele kubo ulwazi olungaYe. Walangazelela ukuziphakamisela phezulu iingcinga zowayemmamele ngaphaya kwendlela nenkonzo, nokungaqondani okunembambano. “Kuza ilixa,” watsho, “nangoku selikho, xa abanquli abayinyaniso baya kumnqula uBawo ngoMoya nangenyaniso; kuba uBawo ufuna abanjalo ukumnqula. UThixo unguMoya; abo ke bamnqulayo bamelwe kukumnqula ngoMoya nangenyaniso.”ULw 188.5

    Apha kuvakaliswa inyaniso enye uYesu awayityhila kuNikodemo xa wayesithi, “Ukuba akathanga umntu azalwe ngokutsha, akanakububona ubukumkani bukaThixo.” Yohane 3:3. Akungakufuna intaba engcwele okanye itempile engcwalisiweyo apho bathi abantu babe noqhagamshelano nezulu. Inkolo ayipheleliswanga kwiimbonakalo zangaphandle okanye kwiinkonzo [ezenziwayo]. Inkolo evela kuThixo kuphela kwenkolo eya kukhokelela kuThixo. Ukuze simkhonze ngendlela eyiyo, kufuneka sizalwe ngoMoya wezulu. Oku kuya kuyihlambulula intliziyo kuze kuyenze ngokutsha ingqondo, kusinike isakhono esitsha sokumazi nokumthanda uThixo. Kuya kusinika intobelo evumayo kuko konke akufunayo [uThixo]. Olu lunqulo lwenene. Lusisiqhamo sokusebenza kukaMoya Oyingcwele. NgoMoya, wonke umthandazo onyanisekileyo uyabhalwa, kwaye umthandazo onjalo uyamkeleka kuThixo. Naphina apho umphefumlo ufuna uThixo, apho ukusebenza kukaMoya kuyabonakalaliswa, aze uThixo azityhile kuloo mphefumlo. Ufuna abanquli abanjalo. Ulindile ukuba abamkele, aze abenze oonyana neentombi zaKhe.ULw 189.1

    Ngexesha intokazi yayithetha noYesu, yathabatheka ngamazwi aKhe. Ayizange yaziva izinto ezichukumisa ngolo hlobo kubabingeleli babantu bakubo, okanye kumaYuda. ULw 189.2

    Xa kwakusanekwa phambi kwayo ubomi bayo bangaphambili, yenziwa yayivisisisa intswelo yayo enkulu. Yakuqonda ukunxanwa komphefumlo wayo, okwakungeze kwaneliswe ngamanzi aseSikare. Akukho nto yakha yahlangana naye ukuza kuthi ga kwesi sithuba eyakha yamvusa kangako ukuba aqonde akudingayo okukhulu. UYesu wayoyisela [ekuqondeni] ukuba uyazifunda iimfihlelo zobomi bayo; kodwa yeva ukuba ungumhlobo wayo, onemfesane noyithandayo. Lo gama ubukho bobungcwele baKhe busigwebaisonokuyo,akazangewathetha ilizwi lokuyihlazisa,kodwa wayixelela ngobabalolwaKhe, nokuba unakho ukuwuhlaziya umphefumlo wayo. Yaqala ukoyiseka engqondweni yayo ngesimilo saKhe. Kwabakho umbuzo engqondweni yayo, Ingaba lo asinguye lo Mesiya usoloko elindelwe? Yathi kuYe, “Ndiyazi ukuba uMesiya uyeza, ekuthiwa nguKristu; xa athe weza yena, uya kusityela izinto zonke.” Waphendula uYesu, wathi, “Mna ndithethayo nawe ndinguye.” ULw 189.3

    Yathi le nkosikazi yakuweva la mazwi, ukholo lwaxhuma entliziyweni yayo. Yakwamkela oku kumangalisayo kuvakaliswa yimilebe yeTitshala yezulu. ULw 190.1

    Le nkosikazi yayikwimo yengqondo yokuba nombulelo. Yayilungele ukwamkela eyona ntyilelo izukileyo [okanye ebalulekileyo]; kuba yayinomdla eziBhalweni, waza uMoya Oyingcwele wayilungisa ingqondo yayo ukuba ikwamkele ukukhanya okongeziweyo. Yayisifundile isithembiso seTestamente eNdala, “UYehova uThixo wakho uya kunivelisela umprofeti ophuma phakathi kwenu, kubazalwana benu onjengam; ize nimphulaphule yena.” Dut. 18:15. Yayilangazelela ukusiqonda esi siprofeto. Ukukhanya kwakusele kudanyaza engqondweni yayo. Amanzi obomi, ubomi basemoyeni uKristu abunika wonke umphefumlo onxaniweyo, ayeqalile ukuphuma entliziyweni yakhe. UMoya weNkosi wawuyisebenza.ULw 190.2

    Intetho ecacileyo kaKristu kule nkosikazi yayingenakwenziwa kumaYuda alungileyo kwawawo amehlo. UKristu wayezibambe kakhulu xa wayethetha nawo. Oko kungazange kuthethwe kumaYuda, nekwathi kamva abafundi bayalelwa ukuba bayigcine iyimfihlo, yatyhilwa kuyo. UYesu wabona ukuba iya kulusebenzisa ulwazi lwayo ekuziseni abanye ukuba babelane ngobabalo lwaKhe. ULw 190.3

    Bathi bakuba bebuyile abafundi kuhambo lwabo, bamangaliswa kukuyifumana iNkosi yabo ithetha nomntu ongumfazi. Wayengekawaseli amanzi okumhlaziya awayewalangazelela, engekakutyi ukutya abafundi ababemphathele kona. Yathi yakuba imkile intokazi, abafundi bambongoza ukuba atye. Bambona ethe cwaka, ecinga nzulu, ngokungathi uthiwe hlasi kukucamngca nzulu. Ubuso baKhe babubonakala bunovuyo, baza boyika ukumphazamisa ekuthetheni kwaKhe nezulu. Babesazi kodwa ukuba ulambile udiniwe, bacinga ukuba ngumsebenzi wabo ukumkhumbuza ngeemfuno zaKhe zasenyameni. UYesu wakwamkela ukukhathala kwabo okunothando, kodwa wathi, “Ndinokudla endikudlayo, eningakwaziyo nina.” ULw 190.4

    Abafundi bamangala ukuba inokuba ngubani oye wamphathela ukutya; kodwa wachaza, wathi, “Okwam ukudla kukuba ndenze ukuthanda kowandithumayo, ndiwufeze umsebenzi wakhe.” Yohane 4:34.Njengokuba amazwiaKheentokaziniavusaisazelasayo, ULw 190.5

    uYesu waba novuyo. Wayibona isela kumanzi obomi, kwaza okwaKhe ukulamba nokunxanwa kwaneliseka. Ukufezeka komsebenzi awayezele wona ukusuka ezulwini, kwamnika amandla uMsindisi okwenza umsebenzi waKhe onzima, wamphakamisa ngaphezu kweemfuno zoluntu. Ukulungiselela kumphefumlo olambele nonxanelwe inyaniso kwakumzalisa ngombulelo omkhulu kunokutya nokusela. Kwakuyintuthuzelo nokuhlaziyeka, kuYe. Ububele yayibubomi bomphefumlo waKhe. ULw 191.1

    UMkhululi wethu unxanelwe ukwaziwa. Ulambele uvelwano nothando lwabo athe wabathenga ngelilelaKhe igazi. Ulangazelela ngomnqweno ongathethekiyo ukuba beze kuYe ukuze bazuze ubomi. Njengomama ekhangele uncumo lomntwana wakhe omncinane, oluxela ukuvela kokuba nengqondo, wenjenjalo uKristu ukulindela ukubonakaliswa kothando olunombulelo, nolubonisa ukuba ubomi basemoyeni buqalile emphefumlweni. ULw 191.2

    Intokazi yayizaliswe luvuyo xa yayimamele amazwi kaKristu. Intyilelo emangalisayo yaphantsa ukuyongamela. Yawushiya apho umphanda wayo, yabuyela esixekweni, isisa isigidimi kwabanye. UYesu wazi ukuba kwakutheni ukuze ihambe. Ukushiya kwayo umphanda wayo kwathetha ngokungaphazamisekiyo ngegalelo lamazwi aKhe. Yaba lulangazelelo olunenzondelelo lomphefumlo wayo ukuzuza amanzi aphilileyo; yaza yalibala naloo nto ibizele yona equleni, yalibala ngokunxanwa koMsindisi, eyayinenjongo yokulunceda. Ngentliziyo ephuphuma luvuyo, yakhawuleza yemka, isiya kwabelana nabanye ngokukhanya kwexabiso elikhulu loko ikufumeneyo.ULw 191.3

    “Yizani, nibone umntu ondixelele izinto zonke endakha ndazenza;” yatsho ebantwini bomzi. “Lo akangebi nguye uKristu yini na?” Amazwi akhe azichukumisa iintliziyo zabo. Kwakukho inkangeleko entsha ebusweni bayo, utshintsho kuyo yonke imbonakalo yayo. Banga bangambona uYesu. “Baphuma ke ekhaya, baye besiza kuye.”ULw 191.4

    Uthe uYesu esahleli apho ngasequleni wakhangela emasimini engqolowa awayenabe phambi kwaKhe, ubuhle bobuhlaza bawo bubethwa yimitha yelanga ebugolide. Ekhombisa abafundi baKhe kumbono, wasebenzisa umfuziselo: “Anitsho na nina ukuthi, Iinyanga zisene, kuze kufike ukuvuna? Yabonani, ndithi kuni, Waphakamiseni amehlo enu, niwakhangele amasimi; ngokuba aselemhlophe kukuba kuvunwe.” Waya wathi ngexesha ethetha, wakhangela kumaqela awayesiza equleni. Zazine iinyanga ngaphambi kwexesha lokuvuna ingqolowa, kodwa nasi isivuno silungele umvuni. ULw 191.5

    “Novunayo,” watsho, “wamkela umvuzo, abuthele iziqhamo ebomini obungunaphakade: ukuzenalowouhlwayelayo avuye, kunye nalowo uvunayo. Kuba likule nto ilizwi eliyinyaniso, eli lithi, Omnye uyahlwayela, nomnye avune.” Apha uKristu walatha kumsebenzi ongcwele ofanelwe ukwenzelwa uThixo ngabo bamkela iindaba ezilungileyo. Kufuneka babe ngabathunywa baKhe abaphilileyo. Ufuna umsebenzi womntu ngamnye. Nokuba siyahlwayela okanye siyavuna, sisebenzela uThixo. Omnye uhlwayela imbewu; omnye uyabutha ekuvuneni; kodwa bobabini, ohlwayelayo novunayo bazuza umvuzo. Bavuya kunye ngomvuzo wokubulaleka kwabo.ULw 192.1

    UYesu wathi kubafundi baKhe, “Mna ndanithuma ukuvuna oko ningabulalekanga kuko nina; abanye babulalekile, naza nangena nina ekubulalekeni kwabo.” UMsindisi apha wayekhangele phambili ekuqokelelweni kwesivuno esikhulu ngemini yePentekoste. Abafundi kwakungalindelekanga ukuba basiqokelele esi sivuno ngenxa yokuba isisiphumo semigudu yabo. Babengenelela ekubulalekeni kwabanye abantu. Kususela ekuweni [esonweni] kuka-Adam, uKristu wasoloko eyinikela imbewu yelizwi laKhe kubakhonzi baKhe abanyuliweyo, ukuba ihlwayelwe ezintliziyweni zabantu. Sithi isazela esingabonwayo, amandla kaSomandla, asebenze ngokuzolileyo kodwa ngempumelelo, ukuveza isivuno.     Kumazwi awathethwa kwintokazi esequleni, imbewu elungileyo yahlwayelwa; indlela esakhawuleza ngayo isivuno esaya safunyanwa! AmaSamariya eza, amva uYesu, akholelwa kuYe. Athi emjikelezile emngqongile equleni, amhlisa emnyusa ngemibuzo, kodwa azifumana ngovuyo iinkcazelo zezinto ezininzi ezazisithele kuwo. Ngexesha ephulaphule, ukudideka kwaqala ukudeda. Ayefana nabantu abakubumnyama obukhulu abaye balandele umtha wokukhanya othe qhaphu bade bayifumane imini. Awazange kodwa anele ngulo mhlangano wexesha elifutshane. Alangazelela ukuva ngakumbi kule titshala imangalisayo. Ammemela esixekweni sawo, amcenga ukuba ahlale nawo. Kwaba ziintsuku ezimbini ehleli eSamariya, baza babaninzi kakhulu abakholwayo kuYe.     AbaFarisi Bakudelela ukubalula [kokufundisa] kukaYesu. Ayityeshela imimangaliso, afuna umqondiso wokuba unguNyana kaThixo. Wona amaSamariya awazange afune mqondiso, waza uYesu akenza mmangaliso phakathi kwawo, ngaphandle kokutyhila iimfihlelo zobomi[bentokazi]equleni.Noko kunjaloabaninziamamkela. Ekuvuyeni kwabo, bathi kwinkosikazi, “Asisakholwa ngenxa yokuthetha kwakho, kuba sizivele thina ngokwethu, sazi ukuba, inyaniso, lo unguye uMsindisi wehlabathi, uKristu.” ULw 192.4

    AmaSamariya ayekholelwa ukuba uMesiya wayeza kufika enguMhlawuleli, kungekuphela wamaYuda, kodwa wehlabathi. UMoya Oyingcwele ngoMoses waxela kwangaphambili ngaYe ukuba ngumprofeti ovela kuThixo. NgoYakobi kwavakaliswa ukuba kuYe kuya kuhlanganisana abantu; kwaza ngoAbraham, kwathiwa, kuYe zonke izizwe somhlaba ziya kusikeleleka. Kwezi zibhalo, abantu baseSamariya babekuzinzise khona ukukholelwa kwabo kuMesiya. Into yokuba amaYuda azichaza ngendlela engeyiyo iziprofeto zamva, anike ukufika kokuqala uzuko lokubuya kwesibini kukaKristu, yawakhokelela amaSamariya ekubeni ayilahle yonke imibhalo engcwele ngaphandle kwaleyo yayibhalwe nguMoses.     UYesu wayeqalile ukuluwisa udonga olwahlulayo phakathi kwamaYuda nabeNtlanga, nokushumayela usindiso emhlabeni. Nangona wayengumYuda, waxubana ngokukhululekileyo namaSamariya, ewenza into engento amasiko obuFarisi besizwe saKhe. Phambi kwentiyo yabo, wabamkela ububele babantu abajongelwe phantsi. Walala phantsi kwamaphahla abo, watya kunye nabo ezitafileni zabo,--esitya ukutya okulungiswe kwanikelwa zizandla zabo,--wafundisa ezitratweni zabo, wabaphatha ngobona bubele nentlonipho enkulu. ULw 193.2

    Etempileni eYerusalem, kwakukho udonga olufutshane olwahlula intendelezo yangaphandle kwisakhiwo esingcwele. Phezu kolu donga, kwakukho imibhalo engeelwimi ezahlukeneyo, ixela ukuba abangengawo amaYuda babengavumelekanga ukuba bawudlule umda. Ukuba oweNtlanga wayenokuba nobuganga bokungena kule ndawo ibiyelweyo, wayeya kuhlawula isohlwayo sobomi bakhe. UYesu Yena, oyintsusa yetempile nenkonzo yayo, watsalela iiNtlanga kuYe ngeqhina lovelwano lobuntu, lo gama ubabalo lwaKhe olungcwele luzizisa elusindisweni awalwalayo wona amaYuda. ULw 193.3

    Ukuhlala kukaYesu eSamariya kwakulungiselwe ukuba kube yintsikelelo kubafundi baKhe, ababesephantsi kwempembelelo yoneenkani zobuYuda. Beva ngathi ukunyaniseka kwesabo isizwe kwakufuna ukuba babe nobutshaba ngakumaSamariya. Baya bamangala kukuziphatha kukaYesu. Babengakwazi ukuwala umzekelo waKhe, kwaza kwathi ngeentsuku ezimbini beseSamariya, ukuthembeka kuYe kwaligcinaikratshilaboliphantsikolawulo;ukantientliziyweni babengaxolanga. Bathabatha kade ukufunda ukuba ukujongela phantsi kwabo kunye nentiyo kufuneka zidedele imfesane novelwano. Kwathi kodwa emva kokuba iNkosi inyukile, zabuya izifundo zaYo kubo zinentsingiselo entsha. Emva kokuthululwa kukaMoya Oyingcwele, bayikhumbula indlela uMsindisi awayekhangela ngayo, amazwi aKhe, imbeko nobubele ekuphatheni kwaKhe abo basemzini babejongelwe phantsi. Wathi xa uPetros esiya kushumayela eSamariya, wakhumbula amava aseShekem, wazaliswa ngumbulelo kwiTitshala yezulu, eyathi, izibona ngenx’ engaphambili iinzima ababeza kuhlangana nazo, yabanika uncedo ngowaYo umzekelo. ULw 193.4

    UMsindisi usahambisela phambili kwaloo msebenzi mnye ofana nowexesha awacela ngalo amanzi kwintokazi yaseSamariya. Abo bazibiza ngokuba bangabalandeli baKhe banokubajongela phantsi bade bababukule abalahlelwe ngaphandle; kodwa ayikho imeko yokuzalwa okanye yobuzwe, ingekho imeko yobomi, enokulususa uthando lwaKhe ebantwaneni babantu. Kuwo wonke umphefumlo, nokuba ungumoni onjani, uYesu uthi, Ukuba ubuthe wacela kuM, bendiya kukupha amanzi aphilisayo. ULw 194.1

    Isimemo seendaba ezilungileyo akufuneki sincitshiswe, sinikwe kuphela iqaqobana elikhethekileyo, ngokucinga kwethu, eliza kusiphakamisa ukuba lithe lasamkela. Isigidimi kufuneka sinikiwe kubo bonke abantu. Kuzo zonke iindawo, apho iintliziyo zithe zavulwa ukuba zamkele inyaniso, uKristu ulungele ukuzifundisa. Utyhila kuzo uBawo,nonqulo olwamkelekileyokuLowo oyifundayo intliziyo. Kwabanjalo, akasebenzisi mizekeliso. Kubo, kwanje ngakwintokazi eyayisequleni, uthi, “Mna ndithethayo nawe ndinguye.” ULw 194.2

    Xa uYesu wayehleli phantsi equleni likaYakobi, wayevela kwaYuda, apho umsebenzi waKhe waveza isiqhamo esincinane. Wayaliwe ngababingeleli noorabhi, bathi nabantu ababezibiza ngokuba bangabafundi baKhe basilela ukuyibona imeko yaKhe yobuThixo. Wayetyhafile ediniwe; kodwa akazange alityeshele ithuba lokuthetha kwintokazi eyodwa, nangona yayingamazi, iyeyasemzini kwaIsrayeli, iphila ubomi besono obuphandle.ULw 194.3

    UMsindisi akazange alindele ukuba amabandla ahlangane. Wayesithi rhoqo eziqala izifundo zaKhe kuphela nabambalwa abamngqongileyo, kodwa kwakusithi ngabanye, ngabanye abadlulayo beme ukuba baphulaphule, side isihlwele siwave simangalisiwe, sinoloyiko, amazwi kaThixo ngeTitshala ethunywe lizulu. Umntu osebenzela uKristu kufuneka angaziva engenako ukuthetha ngokuzimisela okufanayo kubantu abambalwa abaphulaphuleyo njengoko ebeya kwenjenjalo kwiqela elikhulu. Kunokuthi kanti mnye kuphela umntu ofanele ukuva isigidimi; kodwa ngubani owaziyo ukuba ingahamba indawo ende kangakananiimpembeleloyoko?Kwabukekakuyintoencinance, nakubafundi baKhe, ukuba uMsindisi achithe ixesha laKhe ngomfazi waseSamariya. Kanti ke, waxoxa ngokuzimisela nangobuciko kakhulu naye kuneekumkani, amaphakathi, okanye ababingeleli abakhulu. Izifundo awazinika loo ntokazi ziphindaphindwe nakwezona zikude iziphelo zomhlaba.     Ngako nje ukuba imfumane uMsindisi, intokazi yaseSamariya yazisa abanye kuYe. Yazibonakalalisa ukuba ingumvangeli onempumelelo enkulu kunabaKhe abafundi. Abafundi babengabonanga nto eSamariya enokubonisa ukuba iyintsimi ekhuthazayo. Iingcinga zabo zazimile kumsebenzi omkhulu ekufuneka wenziwe kwixesha elizayo. Abazange babone apha kufuphi kubo ukuba kukho isivuno ekufuneka siqokelelwe. Kwathi kodwa ngomfazi ababemdelile, isixeko sonke saziswa ukuba simve uYesu. Yakuthwalela ukukhanya kwangoko kubantu bakubo.ULw 195.1
