    51—“Ukukhanya Kobomi”

    [Esi sahluko sisekwe kuYohane 8:12-59; 9.]

    “Wabuya ngoko uYesu wathetha kubo, esithi, Ndim ukhanyiselo lwehlabathi; lowo undilandelayo akasayi kuhamba ebumnyameni; yena uya kuba nalo ukhanyiso lobomi.” ULw 463.1

    Xa wayethetha la mazwi, uYesu wayesentendelezweni yetempile ehlanganiswe ngendlela eyodwa neenkonzo zesidlo seminquba. Embindini wale ntendelezo, kwakumi izibonda eziphakamileyo, ezazixhasa iziphatho zezibane ezikhulu. Emva kwenkonzo yangokuhlwa, zonke izibane zazikhanyiswa, ziyikhanyise yonke iYerusalem.     Ngokukhanyiswa kweYerusalem, abantu babebonisa ithemba labo lokufika kukaMesiya ukuza kukhanyisa uIsrayeli. KuYesu, lo mbono wawunentsingiselo ebanzi. Njengoko ukukhanya kwezibane zetempile kwabajikeleza bonke, wenjenjalo uKristu, ithende lokukhanya kwasemoyeni, ukukhanyisa ubumnyama behlabathi. Kanti ke umfuziselo lo wawungagqibelelanga. Ukukhanya okukhulu okwabekwa emazulwini sisandla saKhe kuko okwakufaneleke kakhulu ukumela ubuqaqawuli bomsebenzi awayethunywe wona. ULw 463.3

    Ekubonakaleni kukaThixo kubantu baKhe, ukukhanya kwasoloko kungumfuziselo wobukho baKhe. Elizwini elidalayo ekuqalekeni, ukukhanya kwakhanya ebumnyameni. Ukukhanya bekusoloko kugqunywe entsikeni yelifu emini nasentsikeni yomlilo ebusuku, kukhokela umkhosi omkhulu kaIsrayeli. Ukukhanya kwabengezela ngobuhle oboyikekayo bujikeleze uYehova entabeni yaseSinayi. Ukukhanya kwazinza phezu kwesihlalo senceba emnqubeni. Ukukhanya kwazalisa itempile kaSolomon ekunikelweni kwayo. Ukukhanya kwakhanya ezindulini zaseBhetelehem xa iingelosi zazizise isigidimi sohlangulo kubalusi ababelindile.ULw 464.3

    UThixo ukukukhanya; kumazwi athi, “Ndikukukhanya kwehlabathi,” uKristu wavakalisa ubunye baKhe noThixo, nolwalamano lwaKhe nosapho lonke loluntu. YayinguYe owenza ukuba “ukhanyiso malukhanye ebumnyameni.” 2 Kor. 4:6. Ukukukhanya kwelanga nenyanga kunye neenkwenkwezi. Ukukukhanya kwasemoyeni okuthi, ngomfuziselo nomfanekiso kunye nesiprofeto, kwakhanya kuIsrayeli. Kanti ke, ukukhanya kwakunganikwanga isizwe sakwaYuda kuphela. Njengoko imitha ifikelela nakwezona ndawo zikude zomhlaba, lenjenjalo iLanga loBulungisa ukukhanya kumphefumlo ngamnye.ULw 464.4

    “Waye ke elukhanyiso oluyinyaniso, olubakhanyiselayo abantu bonke, esiza ehlabathini.” Ihlabathi lineetitshala zalo ezibaluleke kakhulu, amadoda obuchopho obukhulu nokuphanda ulwazi okumangalisayo, amadoda antetho zayo zivuselela ingcamango, navule imihlaba ebanzi yolwazi; kwaye la madoda aye azukiswa njengabakhokeli nabakhi besizwe. Sekunjalo, ukho Omi ebavelele. “Ke bonke abamamkelayo wabanika igunya lokuba babe ngabantwana bakaThixo.” “Akukho namnye wakha wambona uThixo; uNyana okuphela kwamzeleyo, lowo usesifubeni sikaYise, nguye ocacise oko.” Yohane 1:12, 18. Singawulandaemvaumkhondo weetitshalaezinkuluzehlabathi apho iingxelo zinokufikelela khona; kona ukuKhanya kwakukho ngaphambi kwazo. Njengokuba inyanga neenkwenkwezi zizizikhanyiso ezidlulisa ukukhanya ezikuzuza elangeni, ngokunjalo, ngemfundiso yazo eyinyaniso, iingqondi ezinkulu zehlabathi zidlulisa imitha yeLanga yoBulungisa. Yonke ingcamango eligugu, konke ukuthi tha kobuchopho, kuphuma kuKhanyiso lwehlabathi. Kwezi ntsuku, siva kakhulu nge“mfundo ephakamileyo [ephezulu].” “Imfundo ephakamileyo” yenene, yileyo iphuma kuLowo “ekufihlwe kuye bonke ubutyebi bobulumko nobokwazi.” “Kuye kwakukho ubomi, baye ubomi obo bulukhanyiselo lwabantu.” Kol. 2:3; Yohane 1:4. “Lowo undilandelayo,” watsho uYesu, “akasayi kuhamba ebumnyameni; yena uya kuba nalo ukhanyiso lobomi.”ULw 464.5

    Ngamazwi athi, “Ndim ukhanyiselo lwehlabathi,” uYesu wayezixela ukuba unguMesiya. Ingwevu uSimon, etempileni apho uKristu wayefundisa khona ngoku, wathetha ngaYe ngokuthi, “Isikhanyiso sokutyhilela iintlanga, uzuko lwabantu bakho, amaIsrayeli.” Luka 2:32. Kula mazwi, wayesebenzisa kuYe isiprofeto esiqhelekileyo kuye wonke uIsrayeli. Ngomprofeti uIsaya, uMoya Oyingwele wayethe, “Kuyinto elula ukuba ube ngumkhonzi kum wokumisa izizwe zakwaYakobi, ubuyise abalondolozwa bakaIsrayeli; kananjalo ndiya kukwenza isikhanyiso seentlanga, ukuba ube lusindiso lwam, ude uze eziphelweni zehlabathi.” Isa. 49:6. Esi siprofeto sasisaziwa ngumNtu wonke ukuba sasithetha ngoMesiya, waza wathi akuthi uYesu, “Ndim ukhanyiselo lwehlabathi,” abantu abakwazi ukukuphosa ukuliqonda ibango laKhe lokuba ngOwesithembiso.ULw 465.1

    KubaFarisi nabaphathi, eli bango lalibubuganga bokuziphakamisa. Into yokuba umntu ofana nabo angenza iinkohliso ezinjalo, babengenako ukuyinyamezela. Bengathi abawananze nganto amazwi aKhe, bafuna ukwazi, “Ungubani wena?” Babezimisele ukumnyanzela ukuba athi unguKristu. Imbonakalo yaKhe nomsebenzi waKhe wawahluke kakhulu koko kwakulindelwe ngabantu, kangangokuba, ngokokulindela kweentshaba zaKhe ezazisemaqhingeni, ukutsho kwaKhe ngokuthe ngqo ukuba unguMesiya, kwakuza kumenza ukuba aliwe kusithiwa ulibhedengu. ULw 465.2

    Kumbuzo wabo othi, “Ungubani wena?” UYesu waphendula, “Ndiyiloo nto ndayixelayo kuni kwasekuqaleni.” Yohane 8:25. Oko kwakutyhiliwe emazwini aKhe, kwakutyhiliwe nasesimilweni saKhe. Wayekukuphelela kweenyaniso awayezifundisa. “Andenzi nto ngokwam,” waqhubeka, “ndisuka ndizithethe ezi zinto njengoko wandifundisayo uBawo. Lowo wandithumayo unam; uBawo akandishiyanga ndedwa; ngokuba mna ndihleli ndizenza izinto ezikholekileyo kuye.” Akazange azame ukubonisa ukuba unguMesiya, kodwa wabonisa ubunye baKhe noThixo. Ukuba iingqondo zabo zazivulekile ngakuthando lukaThixo, ngebabemamkele uYesu.ULw 465.3

    Phakathi kwababemphulaphule, abaninzi batsalekela kuYe ngokholo, waza wathi kubo, “Ukuba nina nithe nahlala elizwini lam, noba ningabafundi bam, inyaniso. Naniya kuyazi inyaniso, yaye inyaniso iya kunikhulula.” ULw 466.1

    La mazwi abakhubekisa abaFarisi. Ukubaphantsi kwengcinezelo yedyokhwe yezwe lasemzini ixesha elide abazange bakukhathalele, baza badanduluka besemsindweni, bathi, “Thina siyimbewu ka-Abraham; asizanga sibe sebukhobokeni nakubani; utsho ngani na wena ukuthi, Noba ngabakhululekileyo?” UYesu wawakhangela la madoda, amakhoboka enkohlakalo, angcinga zawo zazikekelele kwimpindezelo, ebuhlungu, waphendula, wathi, “Inene, inene, ndithi kuni, Bonke abenza isono bangamakhoboka esono.” Babekolona luhlobo lubi lobukhoboka,--ukulawulwa ngumoya wenkohlakalo.ULw 466.2

    Wonke umphefumlo owalayo ukuzinikela kuThixo uphantsi kwelinye igunya. Akanguye owakhe [okanye akazilawuli]. Angathetha ngenkululeko, kodwa ukobona bukhoboka buphantsi. Akavunyelwa ukuba abubone ubuhle benyaniso, kuba ingqondo yakhe iphantsi kolawulo lukaSathana. Lo gama ezikhohlisa ngokuthi ulandela akuxelelwa yingqondo yakhe, uthobela intando yenkosi yobumnyama. UKristu weza ukuze aqhawule iimbophelelo zobukhoboka emphefumlweni. “Ukuba uNyana uthe wanikhulula, noba nikhululekile inene.” “Umthetho woMoya wobomi, . . . kuKristu Yesu [usikhulula] emthethweni wesono nokufa.” Roma 8:2.ULw 466.3

    Emsebenzini wokuhlangulwa akukho kunyanzelwa. Akusetyenziswa gunya langaphandle. Phantsi kwempembelelo kaMoya kaThixo, umntu uyekwa ekhululekile ukuba azikhethele lowo aya kumkhonza. Kwinguqulelo eyenzekayo xa umphefumlo uziyekele kuKristu, kukho uvo olukhulu kakhulu lwenkululeko. Ukugxothwa kwesono sisenzo somphefumlo ngokwawo. Ngokwenene, thina asinawo amandla okuzikhulula kulawulo lukaSathana; kodwa xa silangazelela ukukhululwa esonweni, sithi ke, kwisidingo sethu esikhulu sikhale sicela uncedo kumandla angaphandle nangaphezulu kwethu, amandla omphefumlo athi azaliswe ngamandla ezulu kaMoya Oyingcwele, size sithobele okuyalelwa yintando ekuzalisekiseni intando kaThixo. ULw 466.4

    Imeko ekuphela kwayo athi umntu abe nenkululeko kuyo, yeyokuba abe mnye noKristu. “Inyaniso iya kunikhulula;” abe uKristu eyinyaniso. Isono singoyisa kuphela ngokudodobalisa ingqondo, sichithe inkululeko yomphefumlo. Ukubaphantsi kolawulo lukaThixo, kukubuyiselwa komntu,--kuzuko nesidima senene somntu. Umthetho wezulu, esiphantsi kwawo, “ngumthetho wenkululeko.” Yakobi 2:12.ULw 466.5

    AbaFarisi babezibiza ngokuba bangabantwana baka-Abraham. UYesu wabaxelela ukuba, eli bango limiselwa kuphela ngokwenza imisebenzi ka-Abraham. Abantwana benene baka-Abraham babeza kuphila, njengoko wenzayo, ubomi bokuthobela uThixo. Babengayi kuzama ukubulalaLowowayethetha inyanisoawayinikwa ivelakuThixo. Ngokuceba ukuchasa uKristu, abafundisi babengenzi imisebenzi ka-Abraham. Ukuba ngowomlibo wenzala ka-Abraham kwakungenaxabiso Ngaphandle kokuqhagamshelana kwasemoyeni naye, okwakuza kubonakala ekubeni nomoya omnye, nasekwenzeni imisebenzi eminye, babengengabo abantwana bakhe.ULw 466.6

    Lo mthetho-siseko unegalelo elifanayo kumba ekukade uphembelela ilizwe lobuKristu,--umba wokulandelelana kobupostile. Umnombo wokusuka kuAbraham awubangakho ngagama nomlibo, kodwa ngokufana kwesimilo. Ngoko ke, ukulandelelana kobupostile abakhekanga phezu kokudluliselwa kwegunya lezulu, kodwa phezu kolwalamano lwasemoyeni. Ubomi obuqhutywa ngumoya wobupostile, inkolo nemfundiso yenyaniso abayifundisayo, bobona bungqina bububo bokulandelelana kobupostile. Yeyona nto le ekwakhiwe ngayo amadoda awayelandela emva kwabafundisi bokuqala beendaba ezilungileyo.ULw 467.1

    UYesu wayilandula into yokuba amaYuda ayengabantwana baka-Abraham. Wathi, “Nina nenza imisebenzi yooyihlo.” Behlekisa ngaYe, baphendula, bathi, “Thina asizelwe ngabuhenyu, sinaBawo mnye, uThixo.” La mazwi arhesha kwiimeko ezingokuzalwa kwaKhe, ayejonge ukuphoxisa ngoKristu phambi kwabo babeqalisa ukukholwa kuYe. UYesu akazange akukhathalele oku kurhesha kunganyanisekanga, wasuka wathi, “Ukuba uThixo ebenguYihlo, ninge nindithanda; kuba mna ndaphuma kuThixo.” ULw 467.2

    Imisebenzi yabo yayibonisa ulwalamano phakathi kwabo nalowo wayelixoki nombulali. “Nina ningaboyihlo uMtyholi,” watsho uYesu, “neenkanuko zoyihlo niyathanda ukuzenza. Yena waye esisibulala-mntu kwasekuqaleni; akemi enyanisweni, ngokuba akukho nyaniso kuye. . . . Ngokuba ndithetha inyaniso, anikholwa ndim.” Yohane 8:44, 45. Into yokuba uYesu athethe inyaniso, ekwenza oko ngokuqiniseka, yaba sisizathu sokuba angamkelwa ziinkokeli zamaYuda. Yinyaniso eyayiwakhubekisa la madoda azibona engamalungisa. Inyaniso yaveza inkohliso yemposiso yawo; yayisingela phantsi imfundiso yawo kunye nokwenza kwawo, yaza ayamkeleka. Akhetha ukuwavala amehlo awo ngakwinyaniso kunokuba azithobe avume ukuba ebephazama. Awazange ayithande inyaniso. Awazange ayilangazelele, nangona yayiyinyaniso. ULw 467.3

    “Ngubani na kuni ondohlwayayo ngenxa yesono? Ukuba ke ndithetha inyaniso, kungani na ukuba ningakholwa ndim?”Imihla ngemihla, iminyaka emithathu iintshaba zaKhe zimlandela uKristu, zizama ukufumana ichaphaza esimilweni saKhe. USathana nawo wonke umkhosi wakhe babefuna ukumoyisa, uKristu; kodwa abazange babe nento kuYe abangayibeka. Needemon zanyanzeleka ukubazivume, “UngOyingcwele kaThixo.” Marko 1:24. UYesu wayewuphila umthetho phambi kwamehlo ezulu, phambi kwamazwe angazange awe esonweni, naphambi kwabantu abangaboni. Phambi kweengelosi, nabantu, kunye needemon, wathetha, engenako ukuphikiswa, amazwi awayenokuthi xa ephuma kweminye imilebe abe akukunyelisa: “Ndihleli ndisenza izinto ezikholekileyo kuye.”ULw 467.4

    Le nto yokuba, nangona amaYuda engafumani sono kuKristu ayengazimisele ukumamkela, yabonisa ukuba wona ngokwawo ayengenalo uqhagamshelano noThixo. Awazange alamkele ilizwi laKhe ngesigidimi soNyana waKhe. Azibona emgweba uKristu; kodwa ekumaleni, ayezigweba wona. “Lowo ungokaThixo,” watsho uYesu, “uyaweva amazwi kaThixo; ngenxa yoko aniweva nina, ngokuba ningengabakaThixo.” ULw 468.1

    Isifundo sifanele ixesha lonke. Mninzi umntu owonwabela ukukhalaza, ukugxeka, nokufuna into yokunkqangisa ilizwi likaThixo, ade acinge ukuba ngokwenza njalo uvakalisa ukuzimela poqo kwengcinga, nobukhali bengqondo yakhe. Ude azithabathe njengosesihlalweni sokugweba iBhayibhile, lo gama ezigweba yena. Uyaziveza ukuba akakwazi ukuzibona iinyaniso eziphuma ezulwini, nezithabatha unaphakade. Phambi kwentaba enkulu yobulungisa bukaThixo, umoya wakhe awoyiki. Uzixakekisa ngokuzingela intsasa nomququ, abe ngale ndlela ungcatsha imvelo ecutheneyo yasemhlabeni, intliziyo ekhawulezayo ukulahlekwa sisakhono sokumbona uThixo. Lowo othe intliziyo yakhe yasabela kwinkcukumiso yezulu, uya kufuna oko kuya kwandisa ukumazi kwakhe uThixo, kusicole kusiphakamise isimilo. Njengoko intyatyambo ijika ikhangele elangeni, ukuze imitha ekhanyayo iyenze ibe nombala omhle, uya kwenza njalo umphefumlo ukujika uye kwiLanga loBulungisa, ukuze ukukhanya kwezulu kuhombise isimilo ngobabalo lwesimilo sikaKristu. ULw 468.2

    UYesu waqhubeka, ebonisa umahluko omkhulu phakathi kwendawo yamaYuda naleyo ka-Abraham: “UAbraham, uyihlo, wagcobela ukuwubona umhla wam; wawubona, wavuya.” ULw 468.3

    UAbraham walangazelela kakhulu ukubona uMsindisi wesithembiso. Wenza umthandazo ozingise kakhulu wokuba kuthi ngaphambi kokuba afe abe nokumbona uMesiya. Wambona uKristu. Ukukhanya okungaphezu kokwemvelo wakunikwa, waza wabuvuma ubume bobungcwele bukaKristu. Wayibona imini yaKhe, wagcoba. Wakrotyiswa ukuba abone umnikelo wezulu ngenxa yesono. Ngalo mnikelo, wayenomzekeliso wawakhe amava. Umyalelo weza kuye, “Khawuthabathe unyana wakho, emnye kuwe, omthandayo, . . .umnyusekhona abe lidini elinyukayo.”Gen. 22:2. Phezu kwesibingelelo somnikelo, wabeka unyana wakhe wedinga, unyana awayezinze kuye amathemba wakhe. Wathi ngexesha elinde ecaleni kwesibingelelo ephakamisele phezulu imela ukuba athobele uThixo, weva izwi liphuma ezulwini, lisithi, “Musa ukusisa isandla sakho kumfana, musa ukumenza nto, kuba ndiyazi ngoku ukuba uyamoyika uThixo; akunqabanga nonyana wakho kum, emnye kuwe.” Gen. 22:12. Esi siganeko soyikekayo sabekwa phezu kuka-Abraham ukuze ayibone imini kaKristu, abuqonde ubukhulu bothando lukaThixo alunike ihlabathi, olukhulu kangangokuba, ukuze alisuse ekuthobekeni, ude wanikela ngoNyana waKhe ekuphela kwamzeleyo kokona kufa kulihlazo elibi kakhulu. ULw 468.4

    UAbraham wafunda kuThixo esona sifundo sikhulu esakha sanikwa isidalwa esinokufa. Umthandazo wakhe wokunga angambona uKristu ngaphambi kokuba afe waphendulwa. Wambona uKristu; wakubona konke okunokubonwa ngumntu onokufa, aze aphile. Ngokuzinikela ngokupheleleyo, wakwazi ukuwuqonda umbono kaKristu, awawunikwayo. Waboniswa ukuba, ekunikeleni uNyana waKhe ekuphela kwamzeleyo ukuba asindise aboni kwintshabalalo engunaphakade, uThixo wayesenza umbingelelo omkhulu nomangalisa ngakumbi kunokuba unokwenziwa ngumntu. ULw 469.1

    Amava ka-Abraham awuphendula umbuzo: “Ndiya kumkhawulela uYehova ndinantoni na? Ndiya kumkhawulela ndinamadini anyukayo na, ndinamathole amnyaka mnye na? Wokholiswa na uYehova ngamawaka eenkunzi zezimvu, ngamawaka alishumi emilambo yeoli? Ndorhola owamazibulo na ngenxa yesikreqo sam, isiqhamo somzimba wam na ngenxa yesono somphefumlo wam?” Mika 6:6, 7. Emazwini ka-Abraham, athi, “UThixo wozibonela imvu yedini elinyukayo, nyana wam,” (Gen. 22:8), kwaye ekulungisweni kombingelelo endaweni kaIsake, kwakuvakaliswa ukuba, akakho umntu onako ukuzenzela ucamagushelo ngokwakhe. Uhlelo lobuhedeni lokubingelela lwalungamkelekanga ngokupheleleyo kuThixo. Akakho umzali onokunikela unyana nokuba yintombi yakhe ukuba ibe ngumnikelo wesono. NguNyana kaThixo kuphela onokuthwala ityala lehlabathi. ULw 469.2

    Ngokwakhe ukubulaleka, uAbraham wabanako ukuwubona umsebenzi wombingelelo woMsindisi. UIsrayeli yena akazange akuqonde oko kwakungamkelekanga kakhulu kuphuma ezintliziyweni zabo ezizele likratshi. Amazwi kaKristu angoAbraham awazange abe nentsingiselo enzulu kwababemphulaphule. Ababingeleli basuka babona kuwo umhlaba omtsha wokumchukela. Baphendula bejalile, ngokungathi bangabonisa ukuba uYesu uphambene. “Ungekabi naminyaka imashumi mahlanu nje, umbonile na uAbraham?’ ULw 469.3

    Ngesidima esizukileyo, uYesu waphendula, “Inene, inene, ndithi kuni, Engekabikho uAbraham, mna ndikho kade.” ULw 469.4

    Kwathi nzwanga kweso sihlwele sibanzi. Igama likaThixo, elalinikelwekuMoses ukuba liboniseingcinga yobukho obungunaphakade, lalibangwa njengelalilelaKhe ngulo Mfundisi waseGalili. Wayezixele njengowabakho engenziwanga ngumntu. Lowo wayethenjiswe kuIsrayeli, “oziphumo zakhe zisusela kumandulo, zisusela kwimihla yasephakadeni.” Mika 5:2.ULw 470.1

    UKhanyiso lwalukhanyise ebumnyameni; “basuka ubumnyama abaluqiqa.” Yohane 1:5.ULw 470.3

    “Uthe ke edlula, wabona umntu obe eyimfama kwasekuzalweni kwakhe. Bambuza ke abafundi bakhe, besithi, Rabhi, ngubani na owonayo, ngulo, ngabazali bakhe, sini na, ukuze azalwe eyimfama nje? Waphendula uYesu wathi, Akone lo, akone bazali bakhe; uzelwe eyimfama ukuze ibonakalaliswe kuye imisebenzi kaThixo. . . .     UThixo wayenike isifundo sokukuthintela oku. Imbali kaYobhi yayibonise ukuba ukubulaleka kukubandezelwa nguSathana, kwaye kungenelelwa koyiswe nguThixo ngenxa yenceba yaKhe.     Inkolo yamaYuda ngokubhekiselele kulwalamano lwesono nokubulaleka, babenayo abafundi bakaKristu. Abafundi babengabizelwanga ukuba baze kuxoxa ukuba, ingaba ngubani na owonayo okanye ongazange one, kodwa babebizwe ukuze baqonde amandla nenceba kaThixo ekunikeni ukubona kowayeyimfama. Kwakucacile ukuba kwakungekho okuhle okuphilisayo eludakeni, okanye echibini apho indoda eyimfama yathunywa ukuba iyokuhlamba khona, kodwa okuhle kwakukuKristu. ULw 471.4

    AbaFarisi abazange babenokuzinceda koko basuka bamangaliswa kukuphiliswa. Kwathi kodwa sekunjalo, kwaba kukhona bazaliswa yintiyo; kuba ummangaliso wenziwa ngemini yeSabatha. ULw 471.5

    Abamelwane bendodana, kunye nabo babeyazi kwangaphambili ebumfameni bayo, bathi, “Lo asinguye na obehleli engqiba?” Bamkhangela bemangalisiwe; kuba athi akuba evuliwe amehlo ayo, inkangeleko yayo yatshintsha yaqaqamba, yabonakala imntu wumbi. Badluliselana ngombuzo, omnye komnye. Abanye bathi, “Nguye lo; bambi bathi, Ufana naye.” Yena lowo wayefumene intsikelelo enkulu wawuphendula umbuzo ngokuthi, “Ndinguye.” Wabaxelela ngoYesu, nokuba kuthetha ntoni ukuphiliswa, baza bayibuza, “Uphi na yena? Athi, Andazi.” ULw 471.6

Abazange bazi ukuba nguLowo wenza iSabatha nowayeyazi yonke imimiselo, owaphilisa indoda eyimfama. Ukuphendula isityholo sokuba uYesu wayengumoni kuba engayigcini iSabatha, bathi, “Angathini na umntu ongumoni ukwenza imiqondiso engakanana?” ULw 472.1

    Baphinda abafundisi babhekisa kwindoda eyimfama, “Uthini na wena ngaye, ewavulile nje amehlo akho? Uthe ke yena, Ungumprofeti.” AbaFarisi banyanzelisa ngokuthi, wayengazelwe eyimfama waza wazuza ukubona. Babiza abazali bakhe, bababuza, besithi, “Lo ngunyana wenu na, enithi nina wazalwa eyimfama?”ULw 472.2

    Yayilapho indoda ngokwayo, ixela ukuba yayiyimfama, ngoku ukubona kwayo kubuyiselwe; kodwa abaFarisi bakhetha ukubukhanyela obu bungqina bazibonelayo kunokuba bavume imposiso yabo. Yayinkulu kakhulu intiyo yabo, bugqwetheke kakhulu nobulungisa babo bobuFarisi. ULw 472.3

    Kwakusele ithemba elinye kubaFarisi, elokuba boyikise abazali bale ndoda. Bebonakala benyanisekile, babuza, “Phofu ubona ngani na ngoku?” Abazali babesoyika ukuzithengisa; kuba kwakuthiwe, nabani ovuma ukuba uYesu unguKristu ufanele “ukugxothwa endlwini yesikhungu;” oko kukuthi, abekelwe bucala iintsuku ezingamashumi amathathu. Ngeli xesha, kwakungayi kubakho mntwana waluswayo, kungalilelwa nofileyo ekhayeni lalowo wonileyo. Isigwebo sasibonwa njengentlekele enkulu; kuze kuthi ukuba sisilele ukuveza inguquko, kulandele esiqatha kakhulu. Umsebenzi omkhulu owenzelwa unyana wabo, wazisa inkolo ebazalini, kodwa baphendula, bathi, “Siyazi ukuba lo ngunyanawethu, kwanokubake wazalwa eyimfama; le nto ke ULw 472.4

UYesu wayekholisa ukwenza imimangaliso yaKhe esitratweni ekuhleni, waye umsebenzi waKhe ungowokusoloko ekhulula imbulaleko. Umbuzo ezingqondweni ezininzi wawusithi, Angaba uThixo angenza imisebenzi emikhulu kangako ngebhedengu, njengokuba abaFarisi babemi ngelithi uYesu wayelilo? Imbambano yayisiya ngokukhula kumacala omabini. ULw 473.1

    AbaFarisi babona ukuba babenika udumo umsebenzi owawusenziwa nguYesu. Babengakwazi ukuwukhanyela ummangaliso. Indoda eyimfama yazaliswa luvuyo nombulelo; yabona izinto ezimangalisayo zendalo, yaza yazaliswa luchulumanco bubuhle bomhlaba nesibhakabhaka. Yawabalisa ngokukhululekileyo amava ayo, baza baphinda bazama ukuyithulisa, besithi, “Zukisa uThixo; siyazi thina ukuba lo mntu ungumoni.” Oko kukuthi, Musa ukuphinda uthi, lo Mntu undinike ukubona; nguThixo owenze oku. ULw 473.2

    Indoda eyimfama yaphendula, “Ukuba ungumoni, andazi; ndazi ntonye, eyokuba ndibe ndiyimfama nje, ngoku ndiyabona.” ULw 473.3

    Baya bayibuza kwakhona, “Wenze ntoni na kuwe? Utheni na ukuwavula amehlo akho?” Bazama ukuyiphazamisa ngamazwi amaninzi, ukuze izicingele ukuba ilahlekisiwe. USathana nezithunywa zakhe ezikhohlakeleyo babengakwicala labaFarisi, baza bahlanganisa amandla nobuqhophololo babo nokuzathuza komntu ukuze kuthintelwe impembelelo kaKristu. Bazenza buthuntu iingcamango ezazisiya zisiba nzulu kwiingqondo ezininzi. Iingelosi zikaThixo nazo zazikho ebaleni ukuba zomeleze indoda eyayisanda kuzuza ukubona kwayo. ULw 473.4

    AbaFarisi abazange baqonde ukuba kwakuza kufuneka bephethene nomnye ngaphandle kwendoda eyayingafundanga eyayizelwe iyimfama; babengamazi Lowo babekwimbambano naYe. Ukukhanya kwezulu kwabengezela kumagumbi omphefumlo wendoda eyimfama. Xa aba bahanahanisi babezama ukuyenza ukuba ingakholwa, uThixo wayinceda ukuba ibonise, ngamandla nangokuthe gca kwiimpendulo zayo, ukuba yayingasayi kubambiseka. Waphendula, wathi, “Sendinixelele, naza aneva; nithandelani na ukubuya nive? Nani ningaba nithanda ukuba ngabafundi bakhe na? Amtshabhisa ngoko athi, Nguwe umfundi wakhe; ke thina singabafundi bakaMoses. Siyazi thina, ukuba uThixo uthethile ngoMoses; lo yena asimazi apho avela khona.”ULw 474.1

    INkosi uYesu wayeyazi imbandezelo eyayidlula kuyo le ndoda, waza wayinika ubabalo nokuthetha, yaza yaba lingqina likaKristu. Yabaphendula abaFarisi ngamazwi awayenqumla ukuthethiswa ngababeyibuza. Babanga ukuba bangabachazi besiBhalo, iinkokeli zenkolo zesizwe; ukanti nguYe Lo owenza imimangaliso, baye bona benobudenge ngokupheleleyo ngokuba aphuma phi amandla waKhe, nokuba ungumntu mni kunye namabango aKhe. “Nasi apha isimanga,” yatsho le ndoda, “ukuthi nina ningazi apho avela khona; ukanti uwavulile emehlo am. Siyazi ke ukuba uThixo akabeva aboni; kodwa ukuba umntu uthi amhlonele uThixo, akwenze ukuthanda kwakhe, uyamva lowo. Kwasephakadeni akuzanga kuviwe ukuba umntu wakha wavula amehlo ozelwe eyimfama. Ukuba lo ebengenguye owakwaThixo, ebengenakwenza nto.”ULw 474.2

    Indoda yaqubisana nabayixine ngemibuzo endaweni yabo. Ukuzathuza kwabo kwakungaphenduleki. AbaFarisi bakhwankqiswa, baza balubona uxolo lwabo,--lume ngxishi phambi kwamazwi ayo athe ngqo nawokuzimisela. Okwemizuzwana embalwa, kwathi nzwanga. Emva koko, ababingeleli nabafundisi abasinekileyo bazithandela ngeengubo zabo, ngokungathi boyika ukungcoliswa kukuyichukumisa; bavuthulula uthuli ezinyaweni zabo, bayigibisela ngezithuko,--Wena wazalelwa ezonweni kanye; ufundisa thina? ” Bamkhuphela ngaphandle.ULw 474.3

    UYesu wakuva oko kwenzekileyo, wathi akuba emfumene kwakamsinyane emva koko, wathi [uYesu], “Wena uyakholwa na kuNyana kaThixo?” ULw 474.4

    Yayiqala indoda eyimfama ukukhangelana nobuso boMphilisi wayo. Phambi kwequmrhu, yayibone abazali bayo bekhathazekile, bedidekile; yayikhangele ubuso babafundisi abajalileyo; ngoku amehlo ayo amila phezu kwenkangeleko kaYesu, enothando, noxolo. Kwakusele kuyidle kakhulu kuba, yamvuma uYesu ukuba ungumthunywa wamandla ezulu; ngoku yayinikwe intyilelo engaphezulu.ULw 474.5

    Embuzweni woMsindisi othi, “Wena uyakholwa na kuNyana kaThixo?” indoda eyimfama yaphendula ngokubuza, isithi, “Ungubani na, Nkosi, ukuze ndikholwe kuye?” Wathi uYesu, “Umbonile; nguye lo uthetha nawe.” Le ndoda yazilahla ezinyaweni zoMsindisi, yamnqula. Kwakunganelanga kuphela ukubuyiselwa kokubona kwemvelo, kodwa amehlo wayo engqondo ayevuliwe. UKristu wayetyhiliwe emphefumlweni wayo, yaza yamamkela njengOthunywe nguThixo. ULw 475.1

    Iqela labaFarisi lalibuthene kufuphi, baza ubukho babo bazisa engqondweni kaYesu umahluko ohlala ebonakala kwigalelo lamazwi kunye nemisebenzi yaKhe. Wathi, “Mna ndizele ugwebo kweli hlabathi, ukuze abangaboniyo babone, bathi ababonayo babe ziimfama.” UKristu wayeze ukuze avule amehlo angaboniyo, anike ukukhanya kwabo bahleli ebumnyameni. Wazazisa ukuba ulukhanyiso lwehlabathi, waza umzekelo owawusanda kwenziwa wabubungqina bento azele yona. Abantu abambonayo uMsindisi ekufikeni kwaKhe kokuqala, babanenceba yokubona ukubonakalaliswa okupheleleyo kobukho bobungcwele kunoko ihlabathi lakha lakonwabela ngaphambili. Ukwazi uThixo kwatyhilwa ngokugqibeleleyo ngaphezulu. Phofu koku kutyhilwa, ugwebo lwaluqhubeka phezu kwabantu. Izimilo zabo zazivavanywa, kugqitywa ngesiphelo sabo. ULw 475.2

    Ukubonakalaliswa kwamandla ezulu, awanika kwindoda eyimfama ukubona kwemvelo nokwasemoyeni abashiya abaFarisi bekubumnyama obukhulu. Abanye babaphulaphuli baKhe, besiva ngokungathi amazwi kaKristu abhekisa kubo, babuza, “Singaba siziimfama nathi na?” UYesu waphendula, wathi, “Ukuba beniziimfama, ngeningenasono.” Ukuba uThixo wayenze ukuba kungabi nako ukwenzeka ukuba niyibone inyaniso, ukungazi kwenu bebungayi kuba natyala. “Kungoku nithi, Siyabona.”Nikholelwa ukuba niyabona, nize nale indlela eninokuthi ngayo kuphela nizuze ukubona.
