    50—Phakathi Kwemigibe

    Lonke ixesha uYesu wayeseYerusalem ngexesha lesidlo, wayengaphantsi kweliso leentlola. Yonke imihla kwakuzanywa amacebo okumthulisa. Ababingeleli nabalawuli babekhangela amathuba okumbambisa. Babeceba ukumyekisa ngobugebenga. Kwakungaphelelanga apho. Babefuna ukumthoba isidima lo mfundisi waseGalili phambi kwabantu.ULw 455.1

    Ngomhla wokuqala wokuvela kwaKhe esidlweni, abalawuli beza kuYe, bafuna ukuqonda ukuba ufundisa ngaliphi igunya. Babenqwenela ukuwasusa amehlo kuYe ngokubuza ngelungelo laKhe lokufundisa, bawazise kokwabo ukubaluleka nelabo igunya.ULw 455.2

    “Eyam imfundiso asiyam,” watsho uYesu, “yeyalowo wandithumayo. Ukuba kukho othi afune ukukwenza ukuthanda kwakhe, woyazi imfundiso le: ukuba iphuma kuThixo, nokuba mna ndithetha okukokwam, kusini na.” Yohane 7:16, 17.     Ngoku wanika uvavanyo ekuthi ngalo eyona titshala yenene ibe nokwahluka kumkhohlisi [okanye kumlahlekisi]: “Lowo uthetha okwakhe, ufuna olulolwakhe uzuko; ke lowo ufuna uzuko lowamthumayo, uyinene yena, akukho kungalungisi kuye.” Yohane 7:18. Lowo ufuna olulolwakhe uzuko, uthetha kuphela okukokwakhe. Umoya wokuzifunela uyayiveza intsusa yawo, apho uvela khona. UKristu Yena wayefuna uzuko lukaThixo. Wayethetha amazwi kaThixo.     UYesu wanika oorabhi ubungqina bobuThixo baKhe ngokubonisa ukuba wayezifunda iintliziyo zabo. Kususela ekuphiliseni eBhetesda, babeceba ukufa kwaKhe. Ngaloo ndlela bona ngokwabo babesaphula umthetho ababesithi bayawukhusela. “Umthetho aniwunikelwanga na nguMoses,” watsho, “Kanti ke akukho namnye kuni uwugcinayo umthetho; yini na ukuba nifune ukundibulala?”ULw 456.2

    Abaphathi bathi cwaka; uninzi lwabantu lwakhuza, lwathi, “asinguye nalo bafuna ukumbulala? Niyabona, uthetha ngokuphandle, abathethi nto kuye; bangaba kanti na ke bayazi okwenyaniso abaphathi, ukuba lo nguye uKristu?” ULw 457.1

    Abaninzi phakathi kwaba babemmamele uKristu nababehlala eYerusalem, nekwakungemnyama kubo ngecebo labaphathi lokumchasa, uKristu, baziva betsalelekile kuYe ngamandla angenako ukumelwa. Inkolo yabetheleleka kubo ukuba unguNyana kaThixo. USathana yena wayelungele ukufaka intandabuzo; kwaye, ukuze akwazi ukwenza oku, indlela yayilungisiwe ziingcinga zabo ezigwenxa ngoMesiya nokufika kwaKhe. Yayiyinkolo ethe tshitshilili eyokuba uKristu wayeza kuzalwa eBhetelehem, kodwa kuthi emva kwexesha anyamalale, kuze kuthi ekubonakaleni kwaKhe kwesibini kungabikho mntu waziyo ukuba uvele ngaphi. Babengekho mbalwa ababebambe into ethi uMesiya akasayi kuba nabudlelane noluntu. Ngenxa yokuba ingqiqo eqhelekileyo ingalandelwanga nguYesu waseNazarete, abaninzi bamamela ingcamango ethi, “Thina siyamazi lo apho avela khona; xa sukuba ke uKristu esiza, akukho namnye uya kumazi apho avela khona.”ULw 457.2

    Lo gama babebetha bebuyelela phakathi kwentandabuzo nokholo, uYesu wazithabatha iingcinga zabo wabaphendula: Nina niyandazi, nikwazi nalapho ndivela khona; andizanga ngokwam; uyinyaniso owandithumayo, eningamaziyo nina.” Babesithi banolwazi lokuba imelwe kukuba phi imvelaphi kaKristu, kodwa babengazi nto ngokupheleleyo ngayo.     Abaphulaphuli babengenakwenza ngakumbi ngaphandle kokuba bawaqonde amazwi kaKristu. Ngokucacileyo, ayekukuphindwa kwebango awalenzayo phambi kweSanhedrin kwiinyanga eziliqela ezazidlule, xa watsho ngokwaKhe ukuthi unguNyana kaThixo. Njengokuba abaphathi babezama ukuhlanganisa ukufa kwaKhe, ngoku bazama ukumthabatha; kodwa babethintelwa ligunya elingabonwayo, elamisa umda kwingqumbo yabo, lisithi kubo, Niya kuhamba niphele apha, ningagqithi. Phakathi kwabantu, abaninzi bakholwa kuye, baza bathi, “UKristu xa athe wafika, angaba uya kwenza imiqondiso emininzi na kunale ayenzileyo?” Iinkokeli zabaFarisi, ezazilijonge ngomdla ikhondo leziganeko, zabamba iintetho zovelwano phakathi kwenginginya. Zaya zakhawuleza ukuya kubabingeleli abakhulu, zabeka amacebookumbamba uKristu. Zaya zalungiselela ukuba zimbambe xa eyedwa; kuba zazingenako ukumbamba phambi kwabantu. Waphinda uYesu wenza kwabonakala ukuba wayeyifunda injongo yabo. “Liselixesha elifutshane endinani,” watsho, “ndize ndiye kowandithumayo. Niya kundifuna, ningandifumani; nithi apho ndikhona mna, ningabi nakufika nina.” Kwangoko wafumana igwiba ekungafikeleliyo kulo ukugxekwa nentiyo. Wayeza kunyuka aye kuYise, apho wayeza kuphinda athandwe ziingelosi; nalapho ababulali baKhe bangasokuze bafike. ULw 457.4

    Ngokumnyevulela, oorhabhi bathi, “Kuphi apho angaya khona, ukuze singamfumani? Angaya kwabo bathe saa phakathi kweeNtlanga, afundise iiNtlanga?” Aba chukushe abazange bayiphupha into yokuba, ngamazwi abo agculelayo babezoba umsebenzi othunywe uKristu!     Abaninzi ababekholelwe ukuba uYesu unguye uNyana kaThixo balahlekiswa kukuzathuza kobuxoki kwababingeleli noorabhi. Aba bafundisi baziphindaphinda ngempumelelo enkulu iziprofeto ezongoMesiya, ukuba uya kuba “ngukumkani entabeni yeZiyon, naseYerusalem, naphambi kwamadoda akhe amakhulu ngobuqaqawuli,” nokuba uya “[kuphatha] ubukhosi ethabathela elwandle ase elwandle, ethabathela kuwo uMlambo ase eziphelweni zehlabathi.” Isa. 24:23; Nd. 72:8. Baya benza nothelekiso oludelelayo phakathi kozuko oluzotywe apha nokubonakala kokuthobeka kukaYesu. Kwawona amazwi esiprofeto bawagqwethela ukuba avumelane nemposiso yabo. Ukuba abantu babezifundele ngenyameko ilizwi, ngababengazange balahlekiswe. Isahluko samashumi amathandathu ananye sikaIsaya siyangqina ukuba uKristu wayeza kwenza lo msebenzi wawenzayo. Isahluko samashumi amahlanu anesithathu sibeka indlela yokwaliwa nokuphathwa kakubi kwaKhe, size esamashumi amahlanu anethoba sichaze indlela yokuziphatha kwababingeleli noorabhi [abafundisi]. ULw 458.2

    UThixo akabanyanzeli abantu ukuba bahlukane nokungakholwa kwabo. Phambi kwabo kukho ukukhanya nobumnyama, inyaniso nemposiso. Kukubo ukukhetha ukuba bamkele ntoni. Ingqondo yomntu inikwe amandla okwahlula phakathi kokulungileyo nokungalunganga. UThixo umisele ukuba abantu bangenzi izigqibo ngokuqhutywa yimizwa, kodwa ngobunzima bobungqina, bethelekisa ngocoselelo isiBhalo nesiBhalo. Ukuba amaYuda ayebeke phantsi intiyo yawo, athelekisa okubhalwe esiprofetweni kunye namanqaku abonakala ebomini bukaYesu, ngewayekubonile ukuvumelana okuhle phakathi kweziprofeto nokuzaliseka kwazo ebomini nasemsebenzini womGalili othobekileyo.ULw 458.3

    Baninzi abakhohliswayo namhlanje kanye ngale ndlela aye yiyo amaYuda. Abafundisa inkolo bafunda iBhayibhile ngendlela yokwabo ukuqonda nezithethe; baze abantu bangaziphengululi iziBhalo ngokwabo, baze bazibonele ngokwabo ukuba iyintoni inyaniso; koko basuka bakuyeke okwabo ukuzibonela, banikele imiphefumlo yabo ezinkokelini zabo. Ukushumayela nokufundisa ilizwi laKhe kuyenye yeendlela uThixo ayibekileyo yokungenisa ukukhanya; kodwa kufuneka yonke imfundiso yomntu siyizise phantsi kovavanyo lwesiBhalo. Nabani othi ayifunde ngomthandazo iBhayibhile, elangazelela ukuyazi inyaniso, ukuze ayithobele, uya kuzuza ukhanyiselo lwezulu. Uya kuziqonda iziBhalo. “Ukuba kukho othi afune ukukwenza ukuthanda kwakhe, woyazi imfundiso le.” Yohane 7:17.ULw 459.1

    Ngosuku lokugqibela lwesidlo, amagosa awathunywa ngababingeleli nabaphathi ukuba ayokubamba uYesu abuya ngaphandle kwaKhe. Aya abuzwa ngomsindo, “Kungani na ukuba ningezi naye?” Athi enembonakalo yesidima nentlonipho, aphendula athi, “Akuzanga kuthethe mntu njengoko athetha ngako lo mntu.” ULw 459.2

    Nangona zazilukhuni iintliziyo zawo, zaya zanyibilika ngamazwi aKhe. Ngexesha wayethetha entendelezweni yetempile, alindela kufuphi, ukuze abambe nantoni awayenokuyisebenzisa ukumchasa. Endaweni yokumbamba, lonke ixesha ephulaphule, injongo awayeyizele yasuka yalibaleka. Ema ngokwabantu abasembonweni. UKristu wazityhila emiphefumlweni yawo. Abona okungabonwayo ngababingeleli nabaphathi,--ubuntu obuzele luzuko lobuThixo. Abuya, ezaliswe yile ngcinga, ethabatheke kakhulu ngamazwi aKhe, kangangokuba, kumbuzo othi, “Kungani na ukuba ningezi naye?” aba nokuphendula, athi, “Akuzanga kuthethe mntu njengoko athetha ngako lo mntu.” ULw 459.3

    Ababingeleli nabaphathi, ekufikeni kwabo kokuqala phambi kukaKristu, baziva benaloo ngqondo inye. Iintliziyo zabo zazichukumiseke kakhulu, yaza yakho nakubo ingcinga ethi, “Akuzanga kuthethe mntu njengoko athetha ngako lo mntu.” Noko kunjalo, bakufuthanisela ukuthinjwa nguMoya Oyingcwele. Ngoku, bevutha ngumsindo kuba nezixhobo zomthetho zaziza kuphenjelelwa ngumGalili othiyekileyo, bangxola, “Ningaba nilahlekisiwe nani na? Kubaphathi nakubaFarisi, kungaba kukho mntu ukholiweyo kuye yini na? Olu luntu lungawaziyo umthetho luqalekisiwe.” ULw 459.4

    Abo siye sithethwe kubo isigidimi senyaniso, abakholisi ngokubuza, bathi, “Ingaba yinyaniso?” koko bathi, Ngubani lowo uthetha loo nto?” Izihlwele ziyilinganisa ngamanani ayamkelayo; ngenxa yoko, umbuzo usabuzwa, “Ingaba bakho na abantu abafundileyo okanye iinkokeli zenkolo ezikholwayo?” Abantu abanamdla ekoyikeni uThixo okukuko ngoku kunokuba babenjalo ngemihla kaKristu. Bazimisele nje ukufuna ukulungelwa kwasemhlabeni, bebutyeshele bona ubutyebi baphakade; ngoko ke, akungenxa yeentetho ezichase inyaniso, okwenza ukuba amanani amakhulu angakulungeli ukuyamkela, okanye okwenza ukuba ingamkelwa ngamadoda amakhulu ehlabathi okanye naziinkokeli zenkolo.ULw 459.5

    Baphinda ababingeleli nabaphathi baqhubeka nokwenza amacebo okumbamba uYesu. Kwaya kwanyanzelwa ukuthi, ukuba ukhe wayekwa ekhululekile ngaphezu koko, uya kubatsala bonke abantu kwiinkokeli ezimiselweyo, nokuba, inye kuphela indlela ekhuselekileyo, kukuba athuliswe ngaphandle kokulibazisa. Kumsinga omkhulu wengxoxo yabo, balungiswa kwangoko. UNikodemo wabuza, “Umthetho wethu uyamgweba yini na umntu, ukuba awuthanga uve kuye kuqala, uqonde into ayenzayo?” Kwathi nzwanga entlanganisweni. Amazwi kaNikodemo angena nzulu ezingqondweni zabo. Babengakwazi ukugweba umntu ongakhange aphulaphulwe [enkundleni]. Phofu, kwakungaphelelanga kwesi isizathu esenza ukuba abaphathi abanekratshi bathi cwaka, bejamele lowo wayenesibindi sokuthetha ngokumela ubulungisa. Babothuke, bedaniswe yinto yokuba omnye wabo wayethabatheke kangako sisimilo sikaYesu ade athethe izwi ekumkhuseleni. Ukubuya kweengqondo koko kukhwankqiswa babhekisa kuNikodemo ngempoxo yokumthulisa, “Ungaba ungowelaseGalili nawe na? Phengulula ubone, ukuba akuveli mprofeti kwelaseGalili.” ULw 460.1

    Kanti ke, ukunqanda oko kwaba nomphumela wokumiswa kwenkqubo yequmrhu. Abaphathi abazange bakwazi ukuwenza ngokwenjongo yabo bamgwebe uYesu engakhange aphulaphulwe, enkundleni. Boyiswa okwangoko, walowo ke waya kweyakhe indlu.” UYesu waya kwiNtaba yeMinquma. ULw 460.2

    Ukusuka kwihlombe nesiphithipithi sesixeko, ukusuka kwisihlwele esixhalabileyo noorabhi abangathembekanga, uYesu wabuyela kwindawo ethuleyo emagcumeni eminquma, apho wayekwazi ukuba yedwa kunye noThixo. Kwathi kusasa kakhulu wabuyela etempileni, bathi abantu bakubuthana ecaleni kwaKhe, wahlala phantsi wabafundisa. ULw 460.3

    Kuthe ngekudala, waphazanyiswa. Iqela labaFarisi nababhali leza kuYe, lirhuqa inkosikazi eyayinoloyiko olukhulu, abathi, ngamazwi alukhuni kodwa anomdla bammangalela ngokwaphula umthetho wesixhenxe. Bakuba bemtyhalele phambi kukaYesu, ngembeko yokuhanahanisa, bathi kuYe, “emthethweni uMoses wasimisela ukuthi, abanjalo mabagityiselwe ngamatye; uthini na ke wena?” ULw 460.4

    Intlonipho yabo yokuzenzisa yayigqume icebo elinzulu lokubulala Yena. Babefumene eli thuba ukuba bazuze isizathu sokumgweba, becinga ukuba, nokuba sithini isigqibo aya kusenza, babeya kufumana isizathu sokumtyhola. Ukuba uye wayindulula ingenatyala le nkosikazi, wayezakumangalelwangokujongelaphantsiumthethokaMoses. Ukuba wayeza kuthi ifanele ukufa, wayeza kutyholwa njengozithabathela igunya elilelamaRoma kuphela.ULw 460.5

    UYesu wajonga okomzuzwana lo mbono,--ixhoba elingcangcazelayo lisehlazweni, izikhulu ezazinobuso obungwanyalala, zingenawo nomda wovelwano lomntu. Umoya waKhe wobunyulu obungenachaphaza wothuka ngulo mbono. Wayeyazi kakuhle ukuba yayisithini injongo yokuba eli tyala liziswe kuYe. Wayifunda intliziyo, wasazi isimilo nembali yobomi bomntu ngamnye owayephambi kwaKhe. Aba bathi bangabakhuseli bobulungisa, ngabo kanye ngokwabo ababekhokelele ixhoba labo esonweni, ukuze bakwazi ukubekela uYesu umgibe. Enganikanga mqondiso wokuba uyawuva umbuzo wabo, wagoba, wamilisela amehlo aKhe emhlabeni, waqala ukubhala eluthulini.ULw 461.1

    Ngokungabi namonde ngokulibazisa kwaKhe nokubona ngathi akakhathali, abamangaleli basondela kufuphi, benyanzelisa ukuba ahoye umcimbi. Athi amehlo abo, elandela akaYesu, akuwa endleleni ezinyaweni zaKhe, inkangeleko yabo yaguquka. Apho phantsi, kubhaliwe phambi kwabo, kwakukho zonke iimfihlelo zobutyala kubomi babo. Abantu ababekhangele, babona ukutshintsha okukhawulezileyo kwenkangeleko, beza ngaphambili ukuba babone ukuba yintoni le babeyibona ngokukhwankqiswa kunye neentloni ezinzulu.ULw 461.2

    Kuko konke ukuthi kwabo bathobela umthetho, aba bafundisi, ekubekeni isimangalo ngakule nkosikazi, babeyityeshele imimiselo yomthetho. Yayiluxanduva lomyeni ukuthabatha inyathelo ngakumfazi wakhe, nokuba abo banetyala bobabini bohlwaywe ngokulinganayo. Isenzo sabamangaleli sasingenalo ngokupheleleyo igunya. UYesu, ke ngoko, wahlangana nabo emhlabeni wabo. Umthetho wawusitsho ngokucacileyo ukuba, ekohlwayeni ngokuxuluba ngamatye, amangqina etyaleni kwakufuneka abe ngawokuqala ukugibisela ilitye. Ngoku, ephakama, wamilisela amehlo aKhe kwabakhulu ababeceba, wathi uYesu, kunjalo, “Ongenasono kuni makaqale amgibisele ngelitye.” Wathoba phantsi, waqhubeka nokubhala emhlabeni. ULw 461.3

    Wayengawubekanga ecaleni umthetho owanikwa ngoMoses, engezange anyathele negunya laseRoma. Abamangaleli baboyisiwe. Ngoku, ingubo yabo yobungcwele bokuzenzisa, yakrazulwa kubo, bema, benetyala begwetyiwe, phambi koBunyulu obungenamida. Bangcangcazela kuba besithi, hleze ubomi babo obugwenxa bungandlalwa phambi kwenginginya; baza ngabanye ngabanye, bethokombise iintloko amehlo ejonge phantsi, bachwechwa bemka, belishiya ixhoba labo linoMsindisi onovelwano. ULw 461.4

    UYesu waphakama, wakhangela lo mfazi, wathi kuye, “Mfazindini, baphi na abo bamangaleli bakho? Akukho ukugwebileyo na? Wathi ke yena, Noko amnye, Nkosi. Wathi ke uYesu kuye, Nam andikugwebi; hamba, ungabuye wone.” ULw 461.5

    Umfazi wayemi phambi kukaYesu, ezithobile kukoyika. Amazwi aKhe, athi, “Ongenasono kuni makaqale amgibisele ngelitye,” afika kuye ngokwesigwebo sokufa. Emangalisiwe, wabona abamangaleli bakhe besimka bengathethi bedidekile; aza loo mazwi ethemba awa ezindlebeni zakhe, “Nam andikugwebi; hamba, ungabuye wone.” Intliziyo yakhe yanyibilika, waziphosa ezinyaweni zikaYesu, elila ngokuphuma eluthandweni lwakhe olunombulelo, waza wathi, ngeenyembezi ezikrakra, wazivuma izono zakhe. ULw 462.1
